  • TSN’s Frank Corrado stops by to discuss DeBrusk’s comments, the Canucks' goaltending division of labour, and if might be it be the best tandem in the league? Plus the best linemate for Pettersson-DeBrusk and a tidbit on Canucks prospect Anthony Romani.

Frankie has got to be one of the greatest current hockey analysts based on his knowledge, experience and obvious enthusiasm for the game... would love to see him do colour for Hockey Night in Canada! Cheers guys!

I never considered him as a HNIC candidate, but I agree with you - he would be awesome! I remember watching his first show on S&P and instantly thought he was made for commentary. All he's needed was the hockey experience to give him relevant knowledge to talk about.

When we added Lindholm and Big Z last season, they weren't really brought in for offense, and the team did ok in terms of rolling 3 lines and scoring goals. This season I expect the Canucks to be about the same except we added Debrusk who's a good grindy two-way forward who can chip in some offense. Our team is similar to Boston/Florida where they play grindy, hard-hitting, stifling defense, where we force guys like McDavid to skate around the towering dmen we have...

Would like to have another heavy winger part timer to switch off with a speedster depending on the oponent.

I think hoglander will be traded either for another fwd or defensive help.

@@nabatron21 I think it's likely as well if a deal can be made for an offensive defenseman. I wouldnt like to loose him though,he has too much upside and room for growth.

      @@nabatron21 he's sooo cheap for 22 5 on 5 goals.

About the rush: We see Oilers do what Canucks do but faster! They have the forward rush the puck in along the side and drop the puck to the defenseman. Difference is the forward is much faster for the Oilers and it pulls the offensive player with them, whereas the slower Canucks don't pull the player and the player can adjust to the dman quickly. The Nucks relied waaayyyy too much on the dump and chase last year, it was almost every play, espeically in the playoffs, and it rarely worked. Need to enter with speed and control.

So let me get this straight , you develop a draft pick to be an Elite , Vezina calibre goalie and then don't play him out of fear of injury? Is that what we've come to? Nonsense , Silovs is not ready for that workload. That's why they got the other guy at the deadline
