This is the first video I watched from the channel. It was a nice job. I really liked Rappa-Bushi but never understood what its meaning was. Although I am curious what the Russo-Japanese war version is talking about.
This is a version of Rappa-Bushi. The most famous version was made by Soeda Azenbo after listening to an Okinawan singer. Thus, its lyrics are nonsense. But offshoots of this song are pretty common, like this one.
Right now I'm having trouble finding lyrics to the song anywhere online. I've checked the usual suspects like RUclips videos and lyric websites. I've also checked Yahoo Auctions for any listings past or present which were also selling a lyric sheet that would typically have been included in singles released during that time period. I'm not coming up with anything right now, and so if I were to translate it it would have to be by ear, and that doesn't sound like the most ideal circumstance. I might keep looking anyways when I have more time another day.
