    I’m 53 with combo oily skin and I have been wearing this every day and love it. Glad you had the same experience. I find you need very very little. I’ve been using it for almost two months and I have barely made a dent in it. Love the sustainable packaging as well. I’m a huge fan of this for my mature skin. Great video.

    I've gotten so used to NOT wearing foundation this year . . . most days (if I wear makeup at all) it's the Paula's Choice Wrinkle Defense mineral sunscreen with the flower beauty concealer. Sometimes, to go a bit darker, I'll wear the Australian Gold with a warmer concealer. I've really been liking the sheer coverage of these blurring sunscreens with just some concealer. I don't think I could go back to anything makeup-y. As always, loved your review, Angie!

    I honestly think that the darkest color you used which is the 048 looked so good on your skin. I couldn’t even see the color when you swatch the three on your face, which means it’s perfect. Maybe you just prefer a lighter color. Personally and chatting with real make up artists with a lot of experience, as we age we need to go darker and it looks less pasty and less like make up. Of course, I am not saying that the shades you choose look pasty or too light. I found this out through happenstance myself when I purchased some of that Seint Beauty foundation and ended up loving the darker contour shade almost all over my face. I noticed that the texture was less and it just looked so much better and blended in my tiny little bits of hyper pigmentation a lot better. I’ve tried other foundations like my favorite Armani in a darker shade and when I compare it to the lighter shade I have, it looks so much better. I’m 58 like you are. I’ll actually be 59 next month and when chatting with some make up artists they always recommend going darker as we mature. I just thought I would mention that and especially because I liked that 048 on you and believe it or not that’s the color I picked on a whim when I went into Ulta last night and before I tried it, I typed it into RUclips and of course you came up first because you are the foundation queen! This looks so beautiful, smooth and radiant on your skin. I put it on my hand last night and I was blown away and the fact that it dried down almost immediately was just unbelievable. I put tons of other products over my hand like lipsticks and eyeliner‘s and some bronzers and everything looked beautiful on top of it. I had almost decided not to keep it when you broke down the price per ounce, but now I have to try it. Great review as usual!

    Thank you! I started watching about a week ago and have learned so much. I am turning 45 in 10 days. I have very oil, bumpy, acne scarred skin and your recommendations come in very helpful. With my problem skin, I stopped spending tons of money on my face years ago out of frustration. For years, I have just covered it up as best I can. I've used Merle Norman make-up for years but your drug store finds give me more options. I never shopped drug store until now and there really are much better products now. My AM routine has done a 360! I have just updated it based onsome products from your videos. It goes like this: ceraVe cleanser, No7 booster serum, No7 retinol every other day, African Black charcoal gel moisturizer, Loreal BB cream, Estee Lauder mattifier primer, Maybelline Age rewind concealer, Infallible setting powder over concealer and Maybelline 16 hour stay put powder foundation. I'm still experimenting with wearing either liquid or powder foundation alone, which products work best underneath, primer or no primer and getting a good color match. Please recommend a good primer for oily skin, enlarged pores and have fine wrinkles. Love tuning in to you! I'm hooked!

      I heard somewhere that if you already have a good foundation color match at home, bring that with you in a clear sample jar and use it to compare next to products in store. That way the fluorescent lighting won’t throw you off. It probably goes without saying that it will depend on the bottle packaging but I think that’s the closest we can get right now without testers. It also helps to find two or three RUclipsrs who are close to your skin tone and see what product shades they wear. At least, that’s what has worked for me 😊

  • @Ms.CindyLee

    Love this foundation; the idea of a balm foundation really appeals to me. I appreciate that KVD took KA’s questionably executed balm formula of (was it?) last year, and did it right. For me, it applies easily, blends quickly, feels weightless, looks flawless, and lasts. Bonus: easy storage, doesn't spill, doesn't get messy around the dispenser area, and I'm betting on being able to use every bit of it, due to total accessibility of the product via the compact packaging-we know there’s going to be a lot of product that won’t come up out of a pump or bottle. Great video, thanks, FF is the highlight of my week. 😉

    I just recently tried the Cover Girl +Olay Simply Ageless foundation, and it to is like a balm type thing. I had never seen a foundation in this type of consistency before!! So, far, I have really enjoyed it, but I'm not a "full coverage" girl, so not sure how it would pass that test. I find it to feel like I have nothing on, it just melts into my skin!! Of course, I would never use this to replace any of my skin care, but it says it has some skin cream benefits in it.
    Angie, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see you test this one, and especially comparing it to the foundation in this video, since it seems to be a similar consistency. Curious if it could be a good drug store dupe!?!?!?

    I LOVE this foundation. I buff it on with a dense, soft, synthetic brush which doesn't seem to absorb product and even at 1/3 oz I feel it is lasting longer than a full ounce of many other foundations and still covers extremely well. I would say it looks like I pick up maybe half as much product as Angie did, and the less of it you wear, the less it moves around/settles and the more skin like it is. I would recommend to anyone who didn't like it after trying it once, to try using a lot less and definitely don't use a primer that moves around. I am mid 40's, normal skin (finally, after years of acne) with just a nose that gets oily on a hot day. I set it with a very bendy light brush usually used for highlighter and a tiny, tiny, amount of a finely milled powder like Laura Mercier, but I usually use Coty Airspun.
    Please don't pass on this brand because of the former owner who has zero association with the brand now, who doesn't make a single penny on these products anymore. She was 100% bought out from the brand. Also, the brand seems to be moving more towards fully recyclable packaging more than any other brand and they do have some really good formulas though they're still transitioning. The product developers and workers for the brand deserve the businesses for creating such a fantastic product. (Though nothing works for everyone. The younger reviewers I watched who were oily had more trouble with it and it will stick to dry patches, but hopefully a good exfoliation and good moisturizing night routine can help with that.)
    The very top layer of the untouched product looks about half a shade darker than it really is, keep that in mind.
    This is my HG foundation right now.

      I saw that the covergirl + olay was a dupe for this on the Ulta website. I picked some up today and it works better on my combo skin with large pores than the Channel foundation Angie loves (which was a HUGE disappointment for me). For $12 the covergirl + olay a total STEAL! 😎💰
      Only problem is that picking your color is tough bc of the packaging. The in store/online swatches are equally as useless. I wish I had done what another user on this thread suggested and brought my usual foundation in to the store with me to compare. Still not sure that would’ve worked but would be better than my 3rd times the charm method! 🤪❌⭕️

    Yay! So glad you did a review on KVD! I already purchased it and really like how it looks on my skin but good grief! It transfers like CRAZY on me. I tried hydrating primer and matte primers. I found with NO primer it works best on me over my serums and moisturizer. When I use setting powder (Hourglass Loose Setting Powder) on top, it did not look as nice. It looked a bit cakey and less like skin. I set it with setting sprays (NYX Matte, UD All Nighter, Charlotte Tillsbury and the new Dermablend Lock and Last Setting Spray and it still transfers under my facemask. All setting sprays (except for Charlotte's as I think it's just too hydrating for this balm) helped some but not enough for me. Any suggestions Angie? Thank you so much! This is the best make up review I have ever seen. You have covered everything I am looking for in a review. I am 53 and snuggling to find make up tutorials for my skin by people who "get it". I love the close ups and the shots after hours of wear. Have you heard from people with dry skin? I'd love to know what they say.

    My skin is much drier, so I think this is a pass. For all the mature dry skin ladies like me, check out the Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint. It's my go-to Summer complexion product. Blurs everything, not tons of coverage. Let your skin shine 🖤

      You need so little of this, even less than Angie used, in my opinion, and so even at a smaller package it lasts just as long, especially if you use a synthetic brush that doesn't absorb product. With a beauty blender it probably won't last as long.

    Finally Ulta has the Stone Cold palette 🎨!! I've been looking at it since I heard the word COOL, but felt like they threw in a bunch of browns & mid-tone shimmers (which I hate), but I need to see it. Getting today! But that's not why we're here... I couldn't get past the idea of putting a balm on my face with the KVD foundation. However, if it's so lightweight, long wearing and looks smooth, I need to give it a try! Shade might be an issue, I need a medium cool shade (they look a little peachy), it really helps to see those shades cause I would have gone for 39, not now. Thanks for sharing and reviewing these new foundations it's very helpful!!😊💞. Xo

      PS... What about a review of the Wayne Goss Moonstone eyeshadow palette? It's COOL 😌. I know it's pricey and has two similar gray shades but they might be different in person & formula might amazing (what I always think...).

      I have this pallette and i do, also hate the browns in it! I'm so tired of trying to use Angie's hooded eye hack of trying the taupey-browns in my crease! It's a great hack if you have enough of a lid, but impossible for my hooded eyes. So I must go higher up and darker with the cool greys in it! BUT...I LOVE SHIMMERS FOR both my small lids and my fake crease! If you buy a good product eye shadows, they are not glittery. But this pallette has lots of fall out!!! I have owned it for maybe 2 months and have used only twice! Not sure it's a good look for me. I found my smoky eye e.l.f. long pallette to be just as nice!!! This is my first and last purchase from CP!

    Hi Angie, I really enjoy your channel, i've learned a lot from you. I wondered, do you recommend using a vitamin C serum along with using a face self-tanner? Would the vitamin C essentially obliterate the tanning product? They seem at odds with each other, in my opinion. I hate to waste something that will negate the other. thank you. (btw, i watch your channel under another name, newbie error when subscribing). thanks again.

    Appreciate your reviews. Tried to find the ranking of all of the foundations you've tried that I've link to before on your site, but couldn't find it. Would like a current review of Lancome's TEINT IDOLE ULTRA 24H LONG WEAR FOUNDATION. I've been wearing it for years. I also have used the Lancome MAQUICOMPLET concealer for years. I was able to grab a Buff/Clair II in February when it mysteriously showed up. But gone again. Will be interesting to find out what is going on. Also use Le Stylo waterproof pencil and Definicils. While not having a clue what I was doing with makeup, I must have somehow knew this stuff worked. Also, the link you have for the KVD to the Ulta site, actually is the link to the Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation.

    You always present a very thorough and professional review...thank you for all of your hard work! Angie, I follow your skin care AM and PM routines with your recommended products. I want to ask you if it would be a good idea to spend 1-2 nights per week and use a stronger exfoliant, such as Paula’s Choice 2% glycolic acid, and skip the tretenoin those nights.

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  3 года назад +2

      Hi Nancy, I think 1night a week with an extra glycolic acid is plenty. If you're also using tretinoin (which exfoliates) and Lactic acid daily you should already be at maximum exfoliation. xo ~angie

    • @dannagordon9618
      @dannagordon9618 3 года назад

      I agree. I use my Tretinoin 6 nights per week, one night I use Lactic acid serum (tHE oRDINARY) plus a Glycolic lotion(PAULA'S CHOICE) plus cerave pm, go to sleep, and wake up flake free! (I stay home most days and that's when I use all Angie's AM&pm serums then! I use all her proven skincare secrets, just use them during the days! )
