Jovon Quarles aka Q. I appreciate you representing the black men that are out there fighting to make changes. I was born in 1976 and I still serve in the military after joining in 1998. I’ve done four tours in Iraq 🇮🇶 and I know we both have had struggles but from my experiences I try to inspire others as well.

I noticed that, too! But in watching this great interview, I hope that more African-Americans are inspired to become SEALs( or even to go into Special Operations or Special Forces or the military, in general).
It bothered me when I heard a young guy in a North Philadelphia inner city neighborhood say on the RUclips channel for Tommy G McGee( who has even encouraged gang members and drug dealers to join the military and ex-con and entrepreneur Marcus ''Big Herc'' Timmons who has the RUclips prison channel, ''Fresh Out'', has also encouraged young people in inner city neighborhoods to consider joining the military as an option ) say that in the hood, the only thing that you can legally do is be a rapper or play basketball.

In the digital era and in the age of social media where you have all of this information and the world at your fingertips, it's not like it was back in the 1970s, the 1980s and even 1990s when people wanted to join and not much was known about the SEALs and people had to find out from books from book stores or books borrowed from the library or through word of mouth from someone. So, he should take advantage of that and do as much research as he can online( along with visiting a recruiter).

I love the paragraphs. As a veteran of three wars I doubt this guy because he seems to want to be in the limelight. Skeptical of his character if he has really been through what he has been through. In summary, I have my doubts.

Did you watch the episode? Please do! Let Google be your friend. He’s also on the television show Special Forces if you’d like to check him out. One thing about the SOF community, if you are a fraud, they aren’t silent. If it’s not true, he’d had been called out way before now.

Why can’t he just be a man who made it, why do we HAVE to make him a “black man who made it”?

because it is a rare acomplishment, men become SEALS all the time, black men becoming SEALS do not so its highlighted for other black men for inspiration

@@ebhustln707 they do though. Black dude’s DO make it in the seal teams. And besides that, skin color has zero to do with a man’s ability to make it through selection or not. I’m not trying to discredit the dude’s accomplishments but damn can’t he just be a dude who made it and not a “black dude”. Its not doing him any favors to virtue signal on his behalf. These idiots use racism to try and accuse everyone and everything of being racist

@@ebhustln707Rare doesn't mean it's impossible, don't confuse the two. It's rare because some blacks don't like to come out of their comfort zone. Some blacks choose to believe the stereotypical culture( myths) of blacks instead of pursuing life whole heartedly as a human being.

Time stamp 14:17...the culture of America at that time (the 90's) was a White man's culture...in America? When did it change? I think George Floyd and Ahmaud Aurbry might have a different perspective if they were alive to tell their stories.

I doubt this guy. He does not answer the questions. The interviewer asked, "So what was your MOS you were going for?" He then talks about his tragedy in his family which makes me doubt he ever was a SEAL. I doubt him. What say you? And don't you dare play the race card!
