Brother Don Cornelius producer founder and host Soul Train. Brother Don uplifted Africans to enjoy ourselves whether from Atlanta to New York and African people we can’t stop dancing. RIP Brother Don Cornelius
I remember this. I was only 11 years old but I loved this Soul Train. Not so much in the late 80s and beyond. It seems some people dressed like they were " working" the show if you get my drift.

@@diamondeyes1559 - I graduated in 1977 and this was my favorite show of all time. Never missed it! I had some of the style outfits they wore. I just wanted to learn to dance from the dancers of Soul Train! :-)

It’s like taking a journey a the hot tub Time Machine…back when you did your chores on Saturday morning while watching the show. It sure made doing your chores a lot more fun watching and practicing your dance moves. What fun it was back then.
wholly molly everyone is so thin! Especially the dude in the blue striped tank top and blue pants he is stick thin. Nice trip back to a time when people were able to throw their cares away and have fun at least for a little while.
The look of strength and power. A time when Black Brothers loved, and kept beautiful black women from high yellow to dark chocolate, on their arms , around their shoulders ,and on their backs. 🙂😋
This was the BEGINNING of the SOULLLLL TRAAAAAAIN never ending line - right here!!! REST IN PEACE, DON CORNELIUS, AND THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM MY MY HEART!!! LEARNED ALL MY DANCE MOVES FROM SOUL TRAIN ❤🚉❤🚉❤🚉❤🚉❤🚉
The Song Love Train by the O'Jays was so impressive that It had to be inspired. I can't believe It, It's Awesome! Much ❤ to You for presenting It to us. Keep on writing songs like this one.
We've become so self obsessed and paranoid because of instant news and social media that We've lost site of what life is about, music and dance rather than hatred, war and devision. Let the world dance I say
I'm 64. I used to watch this show in the 70s when I was in 7th grade or so. What I find odd is I'd watch this and Dick Clark's show and it never occurred to me that one show had more blacks and one show had more whites. I just would look for the best dance moves and coolest songs to learn at school dances. Ditto with watching Fat Albert, What's Happening, or Gilligan's Island. Gonna be 60 soon... For wat it's worth, this song just hits different... Thankyou'🙏🏾💝💯💯

Man do we need a serious love train in the world right now. :(

They're Grandparents and Great Grandparents now. Probably still getting down. 😁
Yes we are!
Getting down is the easy part, it's the getting back up for some of us 😂
You know it!! I dance better than my daughters and they"re 27 & 25 yrs. old..lol.
One can only hope they are still getting down.
Yep. My Mom has more of a social life than I do. The Boomers and Silent Gens be OUTSIDE y’all. 🤷🏽♀️🤣

Back when people knew how to have a good time. The color of your skin didn't matter. That feeling carried into the 80's and 90's. What a time.
Remember the dancers were all picked by producers and other aids of the Don. They weren't together because of their love of mankind.
🛑 with the delusional skin color didn't matter! Great show that many enjoyed!
Did that apply in South Africa too?
this is from the 60s-70s? skin color definitely mattered
Best decade ever! Best music (all genres) , best clothes, best hair, best dance moves 💃 🕺🏼 Can we please go back to THIS?!
I think and say this all the time!
Gold Dust Tarot yes but please is not necessary
Best neighborhoods, restaurants, etc.

See, you don't need drugs, just great music and amazing clothes :)
There were definitely drugs in the 70s.
Why can't people just enjoy the videos? Soul Train was a great show that all races enjoyed.

You can't be serious. 😂There has never been a time in American history that has happened.
This is when they had the best dancers.
That first couple was a tough act to follow :)
The days before smartphones and distractions…. I’m so glad we have these to go back & enjoy simpler times
Young people of the world, this is how it's done. This is how we rolled in the 70's.

The great-grandchildren of these beautiful dancers look back in joy at the early 1970s.
Werent the Isley Bros just brilliant - I cant get enough of their songs where can I get enough of their songs.. ?
I think we should start a soul train protest playing this song. Its time we all get on board the love train.
Great idea!
A great time for African American music and dance!

Damita Jo on the go
The Soul Train line dancers really had the moves, and the outrages outfits were simply the best.
My parents were huge northern soul fans, loved growing up on this stuff despite coming from a working class white fammily
This music cuts across all socio-economic levels. A person would have to be dead not to move to this beat. It is everybody's music.
