    Proud of all the hard work Aito has put in, and excited to see him this spring in Vancouver.
    Remember if you're chasing a dream out there, this comment section is a good indication of what you'll be up against. People telling you that you're really good and people telling you that you're overrated. People telling you your potential and making claims that really aren't substantiated by much. Please - focus on what you can control. The rest is just background noise. That's something you have to realize if you want to be truly masterful at anything in this life.

    It's interesting to see his development and adapting to better players. At a younger age he was all about the fancy moves, but as he got older and his competition got better he now excels in skating and edgework. He still has great hands, but he's not trying the backhand toey, through the legs, toe drag to spinorama like he used too. It just shows that different skills are more effective at different levels. Great job Aito! Keep up all the hard work.

      Coach Jeremy true

      I'm glad he doesn't look like the "typical" very skilled but selfish player that only calls for passes, skates alone and shoots every single time. He works hard checking and near the boards (loved how he returned that bodycheck :D).
      And, obviously, makes NASTY goals! Great job!

    I think people in the comments here Are missing the point. It’s not to show that he’s a future NHL player, it’s to show them that there is Talent from a place where Hockey was never played until recently. It showing that Hockey is expanding across the globe

    • @Repleh
      @Repleh 6 лет назад +4

      Islanders83 uhh, no I think it’s for promotion of the kid that Barber has trained. Barber doesn’t care where he’s from, still gets paid the same.

    I think Aito should really move out from Japan. Right now there is no one in his league even close to his talents, which means he is not improving as much he would do for example in Canada. He is a really good player with a lot of talent, but he would become even better if he would take that talent to Canada or USA. Like, if he would play one season in canada we would really see how good he is. But then again he is 14 so he does not need to think about movin to canada yet but I think Aito should move out to Canada to play hockey and follow his dreams. Good luck to your future games!
    From Finland (Sorry for bad english :D)

    • @PavelBarber
      @PavelBarber  6 лет назад +13

      vili vilperi I think he should move too, but remember this is a highlight video of Aito. You're not going to know if there are players at his level based on that. And yes, there certainly are players at his level in the league he plays in. Watched the game footage countless times.

    • @davidjenkins1198
      @davidjenkins1198 6 лет назад +2

      I agree also, he has real natural talent. I would rather Aito go to Canada to develop, it's just a better program emotionally for a young player. But then again he could always go to Sweden, Finland or Russia. What I don't get is the amount of people that say negative things about Aito, he is just a kid playing the game he loves and mostly that comes from the US, so send him elsewhere.

      Pavel Barber you should, he is one of your kids. I truly enjoy watching him play. Personally I would like see how he does in the corners. He is small, but then again so am I, I dig this kid

    I love all these comments from people crapping on him not being able to compete were he in Canada. Guess what? He has in the past. He's dominated in at *LEAST* 3 North America tournaments that I've heard, watched or read about. 1 in BC, 1 in Ottawa and 1 in New York. Won MVP in BC and put up 3 ppg in Ottawa, so I'd say he did and would compete against kids his own age in Canada and do very well. 16 will be the year where we see what Aito can do in terms of his physical development becoming an issue. Either way, he's clearly a smart hard-working kid that I'm excited to see what he can do in the future.

    • @dlonglade4702
      @dlonglade4702 6 лет назад +5

      If he is an 03, than he would be a bottom tier player. I play against 04's who r bigger, faster, stronger, have better hands, can shoot harder and are able to create space and lanes for themselves more often and that allows them to control the game practically all by them selves.

    • @davidjenkins1198
      @davidjenkins1198 6 лет назад

      He might...only one way to know, get him to Canada and see how he does as an individual. What people forget is this is kid is in Japan, NOT CANADA or the US, so comparing him to what you know in your respective leagues isn't even logical, with the right coach and the right benchmates aito probably would do just fine

    • @nickhedden889
      @nickhedden889 6 лет назад

      Flames 1989 he plays with a lot of confidence, being able to just blow through the opposition. Wonder how he'd do when defence is tighter and gets knocked off the puck more, confidence drops and he might be like a nail yakapov. Time will tell

    He's very good considering the competition he (realistically) can face while playing in Japan ...
    I suspect for him to have any kind of a future in professional hockey he would have to be a walk on player in the CHL, or play on a NCAA team, because I'm doubtful he can get ECHL ready with the competition he is facing.

    This kid is certainly greatly skilled. I would love to see him play with a Bantam AAA team in Canada to be able to compare him with the best 04-03 over here. The only problem I could see with him is his shot, it looks a bit weak but it’s still very precise. And do you guys know if he’s playing with older guys than him in Japan. (Ex. Here in Quebec every year there’s always a couple of 14 years old (bantam age) that are able to make the Midget AAA (Best level for the 15-16-17 years old)?

      OK...but Aito has played in 3 AAA tournaments in Canada and won the scoring title in all of them. In the Pat Quinn classic he scored 23 pts in 6 games in the AAA Elite division which has only the top tier AAA clubs. Second in scoring in that tournament was Logan Stankoven who is rated the top Bantam prospect in western Canada. Stankoven had 17 pts in that same tournament. You can Google Stankoven's name and find him on top hockey prospect sites. What's your name and what team do you play for? Oh and what tournament and what Canadian AAA team did you play?
