    I've been dreaming about owning a car lately. I've been spending a lot of time reading reviews to plan for a possible car purchase next year or sooner. I've become particularly interested in the BYD brand and their car models. Some people may dislike Chinese car manufacturing, but I find this brand intriguing. With a price tag of 1.6 million, this car is certainly competitive and would make critics reconsider their views.

    Great review! I 100% agree that the SL6 will "disrupt the local car scene completely." However, the purchasing experience falls short of expectations. Based on personal experience and feedback from peers who reserved the SL6 a few days after its launch, the release of the units is taking months. I reserved mine on July 27, just a few days after the launch, and as of September 10, my reserved unit is still awaiting allocation. AC Motors and dealers could improve their demand forecasting so that the overall purchasing experience matches the excitement of the vehicle. I hope AC Motors addresses this aspect in future model launches in the PH, especially if they anticipate the vehicle will sell like hotcakes.

      Mitsubishi has completely withdrawn from the Chinese market, while Honda has shut down two of its factories. Japanese and Korean carmakers are considered too outdated and are on the verge of being eliminated. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi electric vehicles are now jokingly referred to as "generic brands." Even after BMW slashed the price of its i3 electric vehicle to 1.36 million, there are still no buyers.

    Than you for a freat presentation. Living in Thailand. The Sealion just introduced as one version Dynamic and only disapointing 2 colors black and white and the price here slightly above PH price. :-( Hopefully the Premium version will be introduced here with the AWD. But yes, this is a viable option for me.

    “This is BYD’s first Plug-In Hybrid in the country” - NOT TRUE, Roy. The pre-facelift model of this particular Sea Lion 06, which was the Song Plus DM-i, was sold here last year by the previous distributor. Very few bought it, but it was officially sold here nonetheless. And many years ago, the 1st-generation Tang PHEV was also sold here. 😊

    • @fanutsky
      @fanutsky Месяц назад +3

      yes it is same with nissan e-kicks. byd says 90% of the time it does the same principle as e-kicks = ice acts as generator of electric motor. but theres a plus side here, you can also run on pure ice only and pure ev only.
      with these options, it is a good first step for gas engine car owners who would like to transition to full ev.

    How are BYD ICE? Does the engine work as a generator like the Kicks? With a 60 liter tank, the quoted range of 1000 kms is about 16.67 km / li average… Not that great considering its a hybrid.

    • @jaredgalvin
      @jaredgalvin Месяц назад +2

      The thing with PHEV is that the main driving force is the electric motor and the ice does the extended range whenever needed. 100km is more than enough for city driving which is what maybe 90% of people do.
