For Vw it’s in the ambient lighting plus pack (which was rarely bought), I think the arteon has it (as it has 3 colour ambient lighting) BUT I’ve been told there molded into the door trim so to do it would be replace the door trim, and put a extra wire to the central electronics ECU and a different wiring loom to the door ECU’s
Ambientelicht Farbliste shows me beautiful colors and next to them E1 is not like you have what is the solution🥺😑

My Passat Estate GT 2017 has white light strips in the doors and foot welds - would I be able to configure it to get more colours? Or does my car not have the physical components for coloured lights?
White LED’s are not multicoloured normally I’m afraid, so I don’t think they will change colour without hardware

Hi mate. I don't have either of those options in the central electrics menu. Car is an early mk7.5 (2017) is the 30 colours not possible then?
Looks like you have the same software/firmware as me then, you could get the cereal electronics module updated
I know this is on a golf. I have Tiguan AD1 and can only get the brightness sliders to show. Any assistance would be appreciated

I have a 2017 Golf Mk7 FL 1.6 TDI with the MIB2.5 VW Discover Media[MQB] (acording to the serial number).
I would like to change the colors of the top bar of the display and around the menu items, but a don't have ambient lighting as an option on my MIB.
Tried using the App but it says it's not supported. Can someone please tell me how to use longcoding to add ambient colors and the colors itself (even if only the 10 original color pack), It would make me extremely happy.

Just took delivery of new 7.5 gti performance(uk), I’m presuming if I had an ambient light plus pack or whatever it is I’d be able to change colours as standard in the settings already...? Can only change brightness of door and footwell, red on door, white on footwell. Don’t really wanna buy an OBD11 and can’t change it, most of the other options I can change are already standard. Your wisdom would be hugely appreciated
Yeah if you had RGB LED’s then you would already have the “background lighting” menu, so the mod won’t need doing

Got a Golf GTD 7.5 ..... will this exact procedure work for the extra ambient lights as I’ve tried activated through OB11 ‘apps’ category but it doesn’t allow me to do it .

What do you mean extra?
Sorry do you reckon this would work on the polo GTi? It's got the same infotainment system (slightly smaller) and the ambient light is all white, any chance they're RGB? You think it's worth buying the stuff? Thanks
If it has all the same switches in the module it should do, but you can ask on the obdeleven forum
Will this work on a mk 7.5 2019 Golf 1.4 tsi (NON GTI/R)? It says not supported on the "apps" page.
I dint really know, the only thing you can do is look through all the switches to make sure there all there, maybe vw have changed the name of one of the menus or switches and that’s why it’s coming up not supported?
Would this work on the non GTI or R model of the mk7.... it has the same lighting just not the engine and so.
This is on a gt-tdi not a gti/r dude so if all the switches are there then yes

i originally have 3 color , i can set all of them to a different ones,but i cannot activate 10 color changer, everything is activeted and 11111111 coded as your video, where is the problem? :D the strips are full RGB passat GTE, so i can set 3 color to any colors but cannot get the 10 color changer :( any idea?

Have you filled out the ten colours in 09-adaptions-Ambientelicht Farbliste:
You cannot leave a colour as 0,0,0 as it won’t accept any colours if you do

I tried to follow your steps for my Golf. With AID and MIB2.
I do not have the Ambientelicht Farbliste
option.
I tried to edit: p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI = 11111111 --> it did not allow me. it said "Please enter 1 hexadecimal bytes separated by spaces".
I was able to edit only: p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI = 11
p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI_2 = 11111111 -> same problem -> current setting: p_ambientelicht_verbauinformation_HMI_2 = 11
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI = 100 -> same error: "Please enter 1 hexadecimal bytes separated by spaces". ; current value = 10 accepted
p_ambienteumfang_mehrfarbig_HMI_2 = 100 -> current value = 10.
The 10 colors appeared, but I am not able to edit them after color 3.
Color 1, color 2, color 3 = OK
Color 4 - color 10. NOT OK.
When I try to edit them it tells me:
STORED VALUE: E1
And If i try to add a value... it says "Please enter 1 hexadecimal bytes separated by spaces" again.
Please help!
Are you using obdeleven?
@@vwjapvideos5498 i used VCDS. i tried using OBDEleven also a few minutes ago. Same errors. You can also take a look here at the last post where i indicated with print screens also.

Could it be the central electronics module is so early and not the ambient lighting version because it’s out of a 2015 car?
@@vwjapvideos5498 could be? How can i find out for sure whether this is the problem or whethet i need to enable something?
Not 100% but I think you have to have the + at the end for ambient stuff, and not sure what software has what parameters (I know mine hasn’t got the colour change with driver mode parameters)

I don’t know, all you can do is check to see if all the options are there, if they are then it should work, if not then don’t try the mod, but this is on a mk7 facelift,

What do you mean? You could try going to reset then lights, background lighting

It depends if you have the correct module, check see if you have this

hi, i have a 7.5 golf with the full r line. Does my car have the option to change the color of the door LEDs?
No fella, they are normally only single colour LED’s, only golfs I know with multi colour LED’s had the ambient lighting plus pack
Can you increase the brightness past 100%?
I’ve never tried fella, I know some LED bulbs on the golf will let you go to 128, so maybe set max to 128?

At about 3 minutes in there’s the colour list , or look up the red,blue,green (RGB) code for the colour you like

hello, the coding of the driving profile is not included in your video, do you have it ?
As my car doesn’t have the adaptions in the modules I haven’t done a write up because I cannot check it, and reading around it doesn’t seem to work on some cars but it’s freely available on the OBDeleven forum

Cool, thank you for your input, maybe you could press pause now and again, and what language would you like on it, tell you what, when I did this video it was because all the people who were uploading videos weren’t putting instructions in, just showing the results then charging you for the instructions, but you notice I did this for free, and no adverts, but if you want I can delete all the videos and not try and help anyone out as I’m wasting your precious time

@@vwjapvideos5498 Not just me mate I know others who have had issues and your codes do not work on some of the cars and works on others. Issue is some people just do not complain ... I DO ... You get paid for these videos and should explaine them a bit more ... as you can see by other comments not sufficient information. I have my working 30 colours BUT no help from your video... It is a lot eaiser to just do it using the App ... 10 credits big deal you get 6 free a day...
