    Thanks for this! I just moved away from Oswego about a year ago and it was lovely to see my town in such a dreamy, sweet way.

    I went to the college for 1 year in 1979. I went back to visit in 2017. Very nice city. I'm from Brooklyn and it's refreshing to be in a smaller city. The winters are cold,snowy and windy but being a cold weather person I don't mind at all.

    It would be a good place to live if it wasn't for the winters, the gossipy rumor mongering people, the lack of good shopping and the 38% who are on welfare or some sort of public assistance.

      Zeb Banister what’s wrong with public assistance?

    • @zebbanister2348

      Elijah where do I begin? Let's begin by saying that if someone is able bodied and not elderly there is no placce for them on the public assistance rolls in America today especially when the unemployment rate is only 3.5%. When someone collects welfare for example they are saying that they are less skilled, less intelligent and less ambitious than 96.5% of all working people! I would say that is pretty bad! Also, having a job and showing up each day and doing your best builds self-esteem. And when one has confidence and personal pride in what they do they tend to be better people in general. They take part in society and become part of the solution instead of part of the problem. So that is what's wrong with public assistance my friend! And Oswego and Fulton have become the welfare capital of of this part of the state! Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you can try harder and do better. And if the answer is yes go out and do it!

      Zeb Banister ok let me stop you there not everyone’s parents have enough money to pay for college tuition so they can’t get a high enough education to get a good job like at the HR building or something so idk what your talking about also I’m a kid

    • @zebbanister2348
      @zebbanister2348 5 лет назад +2

      Elijah, having parents with money is always helpful but not necessary. If you get a job and work hard at it you can work your way up the ladder. Businesses will promote from within regardless whether you have a college degree. One more point, you can also go to BOCES and learn a trade. And you can do this for practically nothing. You told me you were a kid but still you should not grow up with a welfare mentality. This is America and there have been many people who grew up in very poor households who became quite well ott. You need to make that decision ...good luck in all you do! But you must first decide what you want to do and then go after it with everything you have!

    but winter's in Oswego are brutal--Oswego sits on the eastern end of Lake Ontario and gets blasted with lake effect snow

      So is a hurricane or a twister or an earthquake or forest fire that all would easily demolish your dreams! I’ll deal with the snow thanks! Hate it, but deal with it!

    Love it here. The ONLY thing that I am very unhappy with is some of the people here. Way too many druggies and theft, but we were gonna move to the southeast, but after we visited it and went to an ocean beach, we got an awesome sandwich from Port Cory, and coffees from Coffee Connection the morning after we came home from our vacation, and parked in the loop at Breitbeck and got a real reality check. We just can’t leave this Lake 💙
