We probably passed each other! We always used to go downstairs to the middle grade section. I also used the Costa in there a lot when I was in my 20s. … I still cry thinking about it no longer being there 😢 (although I did have a good time looking at iPads on this visit 😂)
love your video! Your very brave going to the city! I have anxiety too and really struggle with cities/ town centres! So nice to enjoy it from your POV! ❤️
I love visiting different cities. I’ve been to lots of Australian cities, but didn’t make it as far as Tasmania. I loved Melbourne, and Sydney. I also had a great time in Brisbane. You know what, I just loved Australia. I went to see the penguins on Phillip Island and it made my life complete 🥰 Hopefully I will have the opportunity to show more of the UK on this channel ❤️
Hi Michelle! I do love videos exploring around cities in the UK and around Europe. I often watch those walking tours/videos that are here on RUclips where someone just films their walks around a city or a town or a village and it allows me to pretend that it's me doing it. During my trips to England most of my time was spent in the south where my mothers family is located with side trips to visit and explore around Yorkshire. So I've spent time staying in and exploring the areas around Bath, Stratford, Salisbury and my "home town" Chichester. My secret dream was to move to England back before I got married. Not sure where I'd have ended up if I had followed that dream but likely Chichester since I knew it best. Course if I won the lottery I'd love to live in Bath ... or York ... or Winchester ... or ... uh ... sorry ... what were we talking about?? It's funny but I very rarely buy books in person in a bookstore. We have a small bookstore here in Georgetown but it's very limited in stock and the books that I want these days come from the UK or are not likely to be found in small bookstores here. Which reminds me ... I went on a spree on The Broken Binding's Dragons Den site a few days ago and bought a bunch of books. Don't tell my husband ... it's a surprise! 😁 We are an hour by train from Toronto and I use to work in downtown Toronto way back a few decades ago. Mega city that it is it has lots of bookstores and of course lots of history and pretty neighbourhoods. One thing that I envy you for is the pedestrian walkways that are all over the UK and Europe. No cars! What a dream. It's been suggested here but never catches on. The Almighty car reigns supreme in North America I'm afraid. Moving news: packed up the last of the library's nicknacks today. Sorted out stuff to donate and filled a few boxes to take to the thrift store. Will continue to try and be ruthless on downsizing. Except for books. And you'll be happy to know that I've tidied up the guest room for when you come to help pack up the library!!! 😁🍕🍕🍕🍕 Cheers!!! 🐂🐄
Hi Judy, I’ve never even thought to watch walking tour videos of cities; this sounds like a brilliant idea! I actually don’t think I’ve ever been to Chichester. I did live in Stratford-Upon-Avon for a year which was so lovely. Haha I won’t tell your husband. Moving is stressful; you deserve a treat 🥰 I spent a couple of weeks in Toronto almost eight years ago now. I also visited a friend in London, and went to Orillia (which my friend and her mum found very random, but spending a few days by the lake was lovely). I REALLY liked Toronto. It’s definitely a city that I could live in. … let me know what dates you want help with the move and I’ll be there! (I really wish I could!!!). I hope that the rest of the move goes well and that everything is well with you! 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
Oooo I love a bit of book shopping in Brum! Haven't popped there in a while, you may have inspired a little pay day trip! Not sure if you're in the right direction, but Worcester has a lovely little bookshop come cafe called Scripthaven now, which is nice to browse around.
Inspiring book shopping is my life goal ❤️🥰 I haven’t been to Worcester in years! One of my besties went to Worcester uni so spent a lot of time there 20 years ago. I’ll keep it in mind for a future day out. Thank you 🙏🏻🥰
So fun going book shopping with you!! 😊 I’ve been on a bit of a book buying ban for the next couple months so it’s fun living vicariously through you lolol
Oh no! I hope that the ban doesn’t last long. I’ve got my book unboxing/hall coming soon (have been saving them all for two months now)… I can’t wait 😊
Bermingham looks like a really nice city. Till now I only was 2 times in the United Kingdom. Ones as a child with my parents, when we traveld all around in our bulli. The second time it was my first trip with my man to London between christmas and silvester. My wish is to see more of the country because I love the architecture. 😍 Munich is a nice city with great food and nice places. Please don't just stay in your girlfriend's apartment and enjoy the city. I came from Witten, NRW, Germany and I can tell that a lot of concerts are well organized, but Taylor Swift is a special thing. Most of the time your bag at the concert must not be larger than A4. Wish you a really nice trip with lots of experience. 😊
The architecture is definitely one of the advantages of living in the uk (unfortunately there are a lot of disadvantages). I’ve been to lots of German cities but not Munich (I’m very much looking forward to it!). Thanks for the heads up about the bag. I think a small bag will be best, and with us standing I need it to be as practical as possible. Thanks for your comment and the well wishes 🙏🏻😊
Lovely video. I lived in Birmingham back in the 90s (as a student) and haven't been back since then. I remember when the Apple store was a Dillions bookshop and it was absolutely beautiful. I used to spend hours there. It looks so different now, which is a shame - but I have lovely memories of it.
I live in Birmingham and feel it’s the worst city for book shopping specifically. A sad lack of independent book shops, particularly in the city centre. There’s a couple of great ones in the suburbs (Kings Heath and Bearwood) but little else, so you did well!
Oh no he isn't. He is actually now my ex boyfriend. We were together for 3.5 years. We broke up back in January but have remained good friends. At the point of this vlog we were separated but still living together. He's a great person, but it wasn't the right partnership for either of us x
Very disappointed in this video yoh go to Birmingham and go to commercial shops such as Waterstones and the works 😅 I’m sure you cou have found smaller indépendant book stores or even charity shops. I won’t be rushing to Birmingham for books 😂
🐂🐄🐮
How far are you from Birmingham? (In America we measure distance by how long it takes to get there.)
@@milouarf it’s just over half an hour by train 😊
I’m lucky in that I’m a 15 minute drive to the West of Cleveland, Ohio.
Ahhh I remember when the Apple Store used to be a Waterstones! I used to go there all the time when I was a teenager, it was such a lovely bookshop! 💜

I just finished “I Who Have Never Known Men.” Powerful - stays with you.
Im glad to hear that it’s good ❤️
Was a lovely day out, also my new favourite Pyjamas 😍 Thank you for letting me come with you.
It was a nice day 😊 Thanks for coming with me!
Loved watching your trip to Birmingham and seeing the goodies you picked up. 🐂
Thank you so much Sophie 🙏🏻😊
love your video! Your very brave going to the city! I have anxiety too and really struggle with cities/ town centres! So nice to enjoy it from your POV! ❤️
Oh thank you so much 🙏🏻😊. The place I struggle with most is the supermarket. I have no idea why. But I’m on such high alert when I’m in any of them 😬
I really enjoyed seeing Birmingham. I live in Tasmania, Australia and have never travelled overseas so I love when I get to see parts of the UK :)

@@MichelleReadsandVlogs I would really love that and if you are ever coming to Tasmania let me know and we could meet :)
@@sharonlovesbooks this would be a dream! And I would eat nothing but TimTams for the entire trip!!! 😂
@@MichelleReadsandVlogs I will supply you with Tim Tams for sure lol
I loved this video I live about a 40 minute train ride from Birmingham and used to go all the time. I now need to go again ❤
Thank you Celia 🙏🏻😊 There is an indie bookshop in Digbeth which I want to try next time (didn’t have time last week) ❤️

I’m curious to read that manga series now. Hello and mooo 🐄🥰
Oh it’s so cute! The little girl (Anya) is the best 🥰
Nice vibe. I Who Have Never Known Men sounds really good. I've reserved it at my local library.
Hope that you enjoy it 🤞🏻

Greetings from Birmingham.....Alabama!
Wheyyyyyy hello! One of my favourite RUclipsrs is from Birmingham Alabama 😊
Planing on moving to the uk this year and this makes me so excited!!
That’s exciting 😊 I hope you have a good (and peaceful) move
Is it bad, I only want to travel so I can visit different bookstores?😂😂😂 Waterstones in the UK. Indigo in Canada! It will happen one day!
Not at all, I have DREAMS of visiting bookstores! I’d love to go book shopping in New York 🥰
Make it happen if this is what you enjoy ❤️
My son would love those snorlax pyjamas. He loves Snorlax
Snorlax is an awesome Pokemon 🥰
I was in Birmingham today, we could of met up 😀😀
This was last week; but if you ever see me make sure to say hello ☺️ Hope you had a great day!

If you didn't know Foster was made to movie The Quiet Girl. I still want to read it befor I watch it.
