This is my comfort gizz song. Always puts me in a great mood and it goes however long I want. Thats the best way to treat this album. It’s a song that repeats forever so you can zone out or not pay attention. It’s great for yard work and chores
Wooooo!! Yer really my go to background listening channel it’s fun to just vibe out and listen while doing work n shit, anyway my recommendation for the next album is float along fill your lungs, it is very psychy and a good early gizz record + it’s probably my favorite album to jam too. Whatever your next listen is I’m looking forward to it ❤
I LOVE this song. Once again, it reminds me of old 50s/60s soul and RnB stuff like Motown, which my mom listened to a ton when I was younger. The chord progression is incredibly similar the outro of "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" by The Beatles (killer song btw). While the song could've been shorter, I think these songs being as long as they are helps with the chill vibe. It's sort of psychedelic in a way, more vibe-based music than anything. Whatever it is, this is one of my favorite King Gizzard albums, but I did go through their discography in chronological order, basically the opposite of how you're going through it. Last track on the album, Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer. Lots of people really like this one, and I've heard there's some great live versions, so maybe check out one of those.
This song always gave me the vibe of like an old school, really chill d'yer mak'er by led zeppelin. Not their greatest song in my opinion but i definitely love the vibe it gives off
Least favourite on the album. I still like it but aye. Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer next is a belter floaty one. Took me a good while to properly appreciate the rest of this album apart from The River but LSSF is arguably my favourite song from Quarters now ❤
Now that's much better. This one has a repetitive structure, but contrary to Infinite Rise, on each repetition of the instrumental sections you have different guitar licks and in the vocal parts there are different harmonies. That keeps it interesting.
My vote for next album…. Eyes like the sky (probably do it all in 1 video) or 2. The tracks tell a whole story kind of like Murder of the universe, but it’s like watching a western movie
You could say some songs are more or less "engaging" for you instead of struggling to find a nice way of wording when you like something less! That's how I've been feeling it lately. If you're into this, you might be into Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer. There's an acoustic live version of that one where they also play one of the Han Tyumi songs (also acoustic) right after. But I think it also has a song from Oddments you haven't heard yet.
yeah its my favourite off this album with Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer at a close second, you're spot on though, its basically King Gizz's 60s Diner song for leather booths, coffee and waffles. always loved the diner rock chords, like Led Zepplin's 'D'yer Mak'er' or Johnny and Santo's 'Sleep Walk' edit, also happy PetroDay, its been one year since Petrodragonic Apocalypse came out
Huh! I'm still learning your likes, I would've thought you wouldn't like this one lol. I don't mind this song at all, it just feels like it's the same thing for too long for me.
I loooove the last 2 tracks of this album
they're both so fantastic

One of my favourites from their discography and by far my favourite on this album, glad you dig it

Thank you! I've always preferred this to the studio River too. Live is a completely different beast though.

God is in the Rhythm reminds me of Fleetwood Mac with Danny Kirwan. Maybe that's why I like this song so much.

For whatever reason I always hear Earth Angel in the Enchantment Under The Sea dance from Back To The Future. ruclips.net/video/waojxR20oRk/видео.html
the people who told you to skip the rest of the album are lame asf. sorry not sorry. these are underrated gizz gems 💎

Listen to burgundy from $b
You should just watch the live acoustic version of lonely steel sheet flyer! It's way way better then the album
Yeah I second this, you’ll get the vibe of the song and you’ll also have some jamming to make it less repetitive
definitely the only bad thing about kiing gizz is when their songs are repetitive, like balrog... still my favorite band of all time 🐊❤
