Still such beautiful blue skies. They certainly have prioritised cycle traffic which is a really good thing. Car drivers need to be more aware too. I do love the red brick buildings. thank you chris! i'm in michigan in the middle of a winter snow storm, so really missing these blue skies. i almost always listen to music when i ride, helps with the groove. but i keep it at low volume and only have an earbud in my right ear. left it kept open to fully listen for traffic, etc. i should have counted the leaps. 😆 best to you and amanda! 🛴❤️

Super weather day for a ride out in Scootlady park. It was nip n tuck with that big truck for a while. Jim doesn't sound a very Polish name but I guess he must do a great sausage. You must have been more chilled than normal not ringing the anger bell but I did hear you shout but I think it was a warning and not in anger. Erm I wouldn't say it was bike friendly in a lot of places. I'd stick to the trails if it was me 🙂

I am not as comfortable riding in traffic as I was in my younger days. In Victoria B.C. we have a couple of great trails , the Galloping Goose and Lochside trail . These were developed on a couple of old abandoned rail lines , and became an overwhelming success. With that success came rush hour traffic ( not a good time to be walking on the trail) and bicycle road rage .(Not common but it does happen. ) Thanks for the tour around Chi Town. Stay safe !
i am a massive fan of rails to trails. the 606 here is one and i have scooted a bunch up in michigan and some in wisconsin as well. trail riding is certainly less stressful. but i so love being on my scoot way more than being in my car, especially in heavy traffic. as a kid i would ride away and hide the safety vest my mom made me wear. now i can't wear enough, covered in high vis and lights. thanks for scooting with me, les! 🛴❤️
Such a great ride with so many amazing views! Riding in the city definitely requires caution, especially with those huge trucks, can be pretty intimidating with all the blind spots. Leapfrogging with a truck is definitely risky. You have so much experience and are an excellent rider, I’m not sure I’d handle it as well as you. Very exciting ride. Thanks for taking us with you. Those huge trucks like at 5:17 are most scariest. Their blind spots are huge, please be careful. I just hit the sidewalk when i see them, lol.
