Really great topics thank you for doing this. John has some impeccable character and the same can be said for the interviewer. Really appreciate you bringing up the topic of interpersonal and relationship discipline being more of an attractive pursuit for young men. This is definitely not talked about enough.
On his opinion of marriage, it’s absolutely true that most people are lower quality than our grandparents and that families are harder to raise properly than ever. That being said, it’s not necessarily good to encourage men and women to wait longer instead of teaching them how to marry and maintain that commitment healthily.

Heaven, you two are extremely based, but please consider this regarding Roman Cathocism:
Throughout the Bible, we see many passages emphasizing the importance of careful study of scripture, that all Christians should know it. To avoid this comment being way too long, I'll only include a few passages.
Acts 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
Here we see the Bereans being commended not just for knowing the Scriptures (which was commendable in and of itself), but for searching the Scriptures to DETERMINE IF WHAT PAUL SAID WAS TRUE (sorry, caps for emphasis).
If men were commended for being skeptical and veryfying the validity through scripture of the things the Apostle Paul himself preached, how much more should we check the Scriptures to test the validity of what the Pope or your local Catholic priest is saying? We can't just accept their interpretation of Scriptures because of tradition. Appeal to tradition is a logical fallacy. And again, even the words of Apostle Paul were to be tested for their truth.
Additionally, the Apostle Paul himself, even upon his deathbed, emphasized the importance of being aware of false teachers, emphasizing the importance of knowing Scriptures.
There's a reason Protestants are constantly asking for you (John) to cite the chapter and verse for your beliefs in the Bible: because God commands his people to know it. Psalm 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." We don't hide God's word in the papacy, or the priests office, or anywhere else, but we are to hide God's word IN OUR HEARTS.
Both my parents, along with some of my other family members, independently left the Roman Catnolic faith that they were raised in because they found it to be largely heretical and even blasphemous. Just because it's tradition doesn't make it right. Roman Cathilocism undermines the gospel in a way that subtly misleads people, but leads them right to hell, especially with regards to merit's place in keeping salvation.

@@joshstrange1244 he's creating more division than anything at this point. We went from having an overwhelming mass of support in reinstating religion before law, but the constant contradiction from people like Doyle (like how he wants open season for anyone crossing from the south) made everyone question the religion even harder. Our creator wouldn't leave such needlessly violent guidance, whether vaguely interpreted or explicitly stated.
This questioning brings up the Bible's historical and theological unreliability. Biblical scholars argue about the source and purpose of the faith, because so much has been changed, added, removed, and blatant contradictions in things like age or name exist to this very day.
Add to all this, the recent happenings in the lands Jesus occupied, and now those very people are asking questions about Islam, finding none of the issues, and reverting to worshipping the God of Abraham but getting violent threats of disagreement from, again, people like Doyle. Instead of recognizing he could POSSIBLY be wrong about the same God he supposedly prays to being a "demon", he continues to mislead the blind while those he failed to convince are actively seeking to impose the very clear and sensible laws Sharia provides. We will get the religious order, but it won't be based on the bloodthirsty nature and falsehoods of catholicism.
Lastly, look to how both the extreme sides can support Islam and create a form of governance instilled with religion. That's what you'd expect from the religion of God, not the endless branches of Christianity all having no actual scripture inspiring the law. Kinda why our "Christian" nation teaches evolution as fact.

The "God" of Islam and the God of Christianity are not the same and you cannot tell me that the main and most holy prophet of islam is a literal pedophile and then also tell me that I worship a demon because I'm a Christian. I'm sorry but islam just is not a real religion in the sense that Christianity is. The only reason islam is gaining more people than Christianity is is because muslims have like 7 kids per woman (props to them on that though, very good). Christians are not turning to islam is very high numbers. But anyways, sure, Doyle is creating division but that's part of it because at some point you have to draw a line in the sand that excludes people and maybe he got the timing wrong of when he decided to do that but it would have to happen eventually. Not everyone who claims to be a conservative is a conservative. On that last part, we have had plenty of strong nations built by Christians. The entirety of the west was built by Christians. Yes, the west is going downhill for the time being but literally every single nation has it's ups and downs as it is inevitable to have downs as a nation. Also don't act like islam doesn't have branches, you guys can't seem to come together under one branch either. Last point, while the USA was built by Christians, it is not a Christian nation in the slightest anymore. Sure, we poll as a country with a high percentage of Christians but all that is is people saying they are a Christian. A truly Christian nation would not allow for all the crap going on right now. Turn to Catholicism my friend, sure we may be in a rough place now but we will be vindicated in the end with Jesus Christ as our shepherd.

The Catholic Church is NOT Anti-Death Penalty. In fact we have had Popes who would carry out the sentencing. Pope Francis is against the death penalty but his views aren’t a decree from the throne, and is not aligned with the unchanging teachings of the magisterium.

Great discussion. We’re in desperate need of conservative Christian attorneys (possibly becoming judges someday) and teachers specifically. To a lesser extent, we need any degrees which leads to an institutional position. Stay away from political degrees and do LI training instead or just get involved with a local party/campaign.
Also, I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. Here's some insight on that, having served in the military (army) and experiencing similar struggles. Despite some very beneficial things that are hard to get elsewhere, the military is an extremely dark place spiritually. It's difficult to thrive and live in accordance with Chris when your environment is stacked against such a life. That's not to say you can't thrive as a Christian in the military, but it requires a certain spiritually mature awareness of what is needed. This boils down to one’s involvement in a local church, immersing themselves in scripture, and having a mentor who follows Jesus.

A very big problem with John Doyle's strategy on fighting porn is that he repeats fear-based arguments.
Men generally know the risks, they know that their vitality is on the line.
Thus, driving up their anxiety does almost nothing to inform and convict, and mostly serves to fuel the motivations behind watching porn, unfortunately.
Addiction is created and sustained by fear. Shocking them like drill sergeant is more likely to make them use, rather than quit.
If highlighting the negative effects is fear based, what would be alternatives?

The alternative would be to undo the brainwashing that got them to believe they have no agency or will to quit, to teach them how to, and that it's easy and preferable.
Quitting is easy when you know how to. There's no willpower involved, no lifelong struggle to avoid triggers or fear of backsliding, just a simple understanding that life without is completely preferrable, rather than worse with use, and that one can quit without pulling teeth.
A great book on this is "The Freedom Model for Addictions". It's aimed at helping people be free from narcotics and alcoholism, but the application is much the same for any addiction.
Rather than scaring addicts into seeking comfort from their drugs, it uses science and research to de-mystify addiction, and gives whoever seeks them the keys to quit.
