You might accuse me of worshiping Roman's playing, and you would be right :) Its at the same an explanation of music what he does when playing, a construction ... there is such a natural breathing in his phrases, so many colours as well, such a control of the discourse and at the same time such an intimate passion !! I just can't be more moving and enlightening.
Yes, this man has a magnificent pianistic respiration, indeed. But why trying to play THIS after Horowitz ? I know that young lions are obssesive about to de-trone the old ones, but this time it failed ... completely
@@Fritz_Maisenbacher Well, because Horowitz is not the end of the world and Rachmaninof deserves to be played. I won't praise again Roman"s playing, what for, if you don't enjoy it ? How can you say he "fails" ??? What does "failing " mean ? Among young lions, he is here at his best. For me; this is music at its purest, not the maniersm of KL, you klnow who i mean.
@@tangistanguy 1) Yes, in this Sonata, Horowitz was indeed "the end of the world". Toronto recital. Third movement as an "encore" !! Apokalypsis. 2) To be "at his best" doesn't mean winning. And so the fail. 3) Playing THIS Sonata after Horowitz is pure provocation. Everybody knows it. Especially young pianists. So, don't cry when you get a good slap in your face from some listener. 4) Kate Liu, when she played the Schumann Fantasy, (in the US, not in Warsaw) had something to bring, some more intensity and heroism than Vladimir himself. She won, at some moments.
@@Fritz_Maisenbacher You should excuse me; but I don't agree in the least ... I don't believe that there is an "ultimate" version of anything in this world. Besides, "failing" applies in sports when you loose a match, but music is not a match, to begin with. Besides, do you really imagine that a talented pianist and musician as Roman has "de-troning" anyone in his mind ? He plays and studies and is royal at what he does and inspiring ... but, of course, as we say in France, "you cannot please everyone".As much as we revere the old masters, the dead with the dead, the living with the living. Long live young pianists as Roman; as Iliia Papoian; as Sandro Nieberidze; Kantorow; Kharitonov, for their deep pleasure and for ours.
@@tangistanguy Dear Tang, Ok, I understand your point, and your sensibility. But this is not my world. I deeply believe in absolute. I am not a democratic-humanist being. I am looking for extatic perfection, and I am not interested about young "living" people who just play the piano for they own sake and pleasure. Dead or alive changes NOTHING for me. And the young pianists you noticed are all very gifted people, but they have a fatal ennemy : historic recordings. Feinberg playing Bach, Richter or Erdmann in Schubert, Schnabel-Beethoven, Friedman-mazurkas, Sofronitzky-Skrjabin, Horowitz Scarlatti- or -Rachmaninov, makes many others quite unessential .... sad, isn't it ? But, don't be worried or desperate, because mountains, Everests, have quite always (but not always), some southern faces, which allows some different ways of climbing. HJ Lim versus Feinberg in the WTK, Yuja Wang in Scriabin, Gould in Mozart, ... and Kate Liu in Händel ... but for many gardens, the door is closed. But thank you for naming some new pianists, I'll go to check this ...
I would like so much to see the video where you play the brahms concerto with Sladkovsky in the Grand Piano Festival ... it is not available anymore ... Is there any way to see it ??? There is just a little bit of it on RUclips and Medici does not show it anymore :( :( Please tell me how to see it :)
Well, I was allowed to play onle the first movement of the concerto due to time limitson that festival. You can find it in the "video" section on my youtube channel. In case of any difficulties please feel free to write me but rather on email. bstanislav68@gmail.com
Теперь придется нести ответственность за всю эту красоту😁 Красавчик😊

Очень зрелое исполнение, будто играет уже взрослый опытный человек.
