Born and raised in Sarasota. And I almost have panic attacks remembering all the times I was out, obliviously floating around in that water 😱
I’ve been addicted to watching shark documentaries lately.. And I will NEVER go in our oceans again! I haven’t been in over 15 years already. And no plan on ever stepping foot in again.

Hey Terry! It's been quite a while since I've tuned into one of your beech walks. For sure, it was my loss. It was a great walk today and no worries about the wind. It sounded just like you were next to an ocean. Wow! Modern technology is sure something. Congrats on the 50K subscribers! That's just as good as getting your name in the phone book (do you know the movie I'm referring to?). You are now somebody! Terry, here's an FYI for you...there's an idiotic little rule in our universe and that is what you resist you attract and what you are attracted to will move away from you. In other words, if you fear something that something will, one way or another, manifest in your reality. This is empirical. Another rule (also empirical) is what one puts their attention on they will get more of. Think of all the shark stores you were told today. Here lately I've had my attention on blue vehicles and now I can't go anywhere without being surrounded by all sorts of blue vehicles! It's wild! Terry, it's so good to see you doing wo well. I really appreciate what you're doing just like the other 49,999 subscribers do.

I live on the NC coast, fish here all of the time. Many people have asked me about swimming in the ocean, even though I have been a great swimmer since childhood, my answer is "I am not swimming in the ocean as long as my boat is floating". I also shark fish, I have caught good size sharks within a mile of the beach. I had an 8' hammerhead come up beside the boat when I was trolling for spanish mackrel, I was close enough to the beach to see what color swimsuits people were wearing. We had a few shark bites on the NC coast a few years ago, that was the year many fishermen were talking about how the tides and winds were pushing bait fish up along the beach. The larger fish go in to get the bait fish, then the shark go in to get everything. If you ever smell very strong fish smell along the beach, may be a good idea to stay out of the water, that is a sign of bait schools along the beach. We go to the Fl Keys every Spring tarpon and shark fishing, I have caught large sharks down there.

As for this video I am afraid of sharks! I go to the Palm Beach Inlet by Marriott Ocean Point. It is very clear there and I will go out to around mid thigh or maybe a little bit more BUT that is it!! I never turn my back to the ocean!! I have polarized sun glasses on. It allows me to see shadows etc. Last September I saw a few stingrays so cool!! But I am very careful where I go!! Last comment I went out on Sebastian Inlet late 90’s went way out! I got overwhelmed out there with dread then swam back as fast as I could ! I told myself never again will I go far out ! Never forget it!

hello from Oregon. Growing up in Manhattan Beach Calif I only encounter a shark once and it was a great white off Manhattan beach pier and they do have fisherman fishing off the pier. This day i was snokeling by the pier and as I surfaced to get air a few people were yelling at me SHARK! i looked in the water with my mask and saw it not more than 50 feet away and in a sort of a way ignoring me. WHEW. Now when I was in Jacksonville FL back in July 2022 surfing from 7pm til 9 pm...IN THE DARK mind you I should of stayed out of the water.

Hi, thanks for a great tour of the beach, but this lifelong proud New Englander prefers the weather here! Cooler, in the summer months without the heat! Like living in AC here in the dog days of summer! Remember, beautiful Cape Cod where I've lived most of my long life is called "The Florida of New England" and we get very mild winters here! Only once in awhile do we get a severe winter storm and the snow melts in no time because of all the salt in the air! However, sadly, many of the beaches on the ocean side are being ruined from very severe beach erosion and the beaches are more narrow than they were decades ago because of rising sea levels from Global Warming /Climate change! One famous beach was totally destroyed from more severe N'or Easters and the famous high dunes were ruined so they had to try and rebuild the dunes and plant all new beach grass and put up those snow fences!
And we have had more shark sightings here and a few shark attacks because sharks love warmer waters which we have now because of global warming! One young lawyer in his 20s was killed by a shark a couple of years ago here so we now have "Shark warning" signs at all the beaches! They even make their way into Cape Cod Bay! The sharks here also love to feed off the seals at the Monomoy Wildlife Refuge at the elbow of the Cape! So I don't go in the ocean like I used to as a kid! I was always jumping the waves at the beach on the ocean side in my childhood and teens, not anymore! Not worth losing my life or a leg or arm! The lifeguards are always on the look out now for sharks!
What the too expensive Cape has become and much more not for the better, overdeveloped, tons of congested summer traffic and accidents i.e "suicide alley", the name of our highways, sky high prices for homes esp for huge out of place mega mansions i.e. trophy homes, a "playground for the super rich" now, sadly not the Cape i.e old Cape Cod I remember of the 20th century when it was really beautiful here! Corporate America has taken over and instead of the great restaurants here, we now have greedy banks in their place! One famous town has 8 banks instead of great restaurants selling famous seafood and good ole' Yankee American fare! The dark underbelly of the Cape? A very high drug and alcohol problem here and suicides even on Nantucket and a town on the South shore of Boston, Duxbury!! The death of an era in more ways than one! Also, we don't get the horrific hurricanes/tornadoes you get in Florida, we usually just get the tail end of hurricanes! The last big hurricane here was Hurricane Bob in 1991! Over 30 years ago! Good luck down there!
