Now, that is serious craftsmanship! That stone pot is a masterpiece. And that chicken dish doesn't look half bad either : ) Also the serene surroundings makes this sheer bliss to watch.

Correct, that one is a good one too. Those are engineering related. To understand Chinese mentality, Tao Te Ching is a good start. Tao is about nature and harmony, also philosophy. Tao Te Ching probably is the second mostly translated book other than the Bible. In case you are interested as well, I would suggest to check out George Thompson's video: "Tao Te Ching Chp 1 Explained - Can you know who you are?", the original video name was "A 9 line poem transformed the way that I see the world", looks like he changed it.

The pattern on the pot is called "double happiness". It's two same Chinese character 喜 hand in hand stand together 喜喜 which means happy/happiness.

It must be difficult to “start from scratch” but it DOES give one a sense of satisfaction to create objects that are as beautiful as they are utilitarian.

If I had to buy one of these pots, I'm sure I couldn't afford it as so much work goes into making it.
If I could afford it, I wouldn't use it as it would be so precious!
It is probably not being sold, as it takes too much effort to make. This is normal for hand-crafted stuff, you never get as much money out of it that would be worth the effort put into it.
@@Haferkoko I would buy it. You can cook several dishes with it without using too much fire since the stone keeps heat for a while. It's a worth investment
That would be a shame, as then all that skill practice and hard work would have gone to waste. Using handmade objects to prepare food, gives the food an added... savoryness?... I'm not sure of the right word.

With all the fruits, vegetables everything is just in the you own garden.. You have a healthy and wonderful family, you a dog a peaceful house.. That the time I can say my life is wonderful
