As a formally untrained, self-studied eschatologist, I pointed this out many years ago. This may come as a shock to some or many but, when I was a boy, clergy strongly dissuaded others (like my lay-preacher dad) from teaching on Revelations, as if it was too difficult to understand or not to be understood/interpreted, risking blasphemy. (taboo/forbidden) Also, it was very popular among the vast majority to teach or accept that "America" (U.S.A.) was not ever mentioned as involved in last day prophecy of Revelation. A sort of "I shall never see death nor mourning" denial mentality of national pride. (18:7) I have always believed and still do believe the prostitute "Babylon" is NYC, even within its spiritual connotation. There are more physical and worldly modern manifestations that provide more evidence and reasons pointing to this most probably being correct. (Of course, I don't even come close to dismissing D.C. as a part of that "woman".) Only Herbert W. Armstrong - the first to teach differently, to my knowledge - and I thought differently. Perhaps JWs did too, but I don't know their theological ideology timeline evolution upon that subject, their's seemingly ever changing, yet taught as if whatever they (their leaders/watchtower society) teach at any given time is doctrine, if not dogma. At any rate, I relatively quickly came upon the topic of Tuatha De Danann . I thought , in case you've haven't heard of them, you'd find it very interesting. Basically, it's the people of Dan or Dannish or Danish peoples. My overall view is that they ended up taking over the islands of Ireland, England/Scotland and Wales, as well, eventually leading to the revolutionary diaspora of nordic europeans coming to colonized and settle, then establish the U.S.A.. Becoming a JUDGE, perhaps, assisted with reestablishing Israel as a nation. However, there is a LOT to be considered, rethought, studied and said about this idea. Some other, better and more well qualified scholarly theologians, historians and eschatologists should chime in, for clearer interpretation. Most of the "jews" in Israel, as well as around most of the world, today, are not Israelites of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, but a Khazarian synagogue of ha satan (the enemy). (2:9 & 3:9) Also, I feel compelled to discourage anyone from comparing the 12 TRIBES to the "signs of the zodiac", or mazalot, of astrology and horoscopes (fortune telling and/or star or angel worship idolatry). You have to read Mark as if NOT knowing anything about Matthew, to see this. I guess Mark was written BEFORE Matthew, and Singer says that what Augustine did in the 'ordering' was "diabolical". 2 or 3 witnesses seems like a good idea, but even the order in which they appear can have an 'effect'. It takes a sharp mind to 'unsee' stuff. Remember, nothing 'changed' in the Garden - you cannot 'break' God's works... but you CAN see things that sway your 'opinions' of it. This is why Jesus said your eyes can decieve (word has Eve in it) and instead if you just 'listen' and 'do' you will learn to TRUST what is 'truth' (law is blessing and a curse and all 'actions' are 'bound' to it - know it or not - as per Romans 2:12-14) 3:07 - send forth men IF YOU PLEASE, seems to imply that maybe Moses asked ready? 3:49 - of the people asked first, might this not create a 'familiar spirit' where Moses then asked, and as a 'census' is a (possible) bad thing?
