I'm honestly happy with the gen 9 games direction (I kinda consider PLA to be gen 9 because there's a clear difference in focus, kinda like how LGPE should be considered gen 8 IMO bc it's on a different console and had wildly different design focus then the gen 7 games), but the devs don't get enough time to finish a game because of gigacringe TPC. So Pokemon IP games produced by outside studios like Bandai Namco for Pokken or previously Genius Sonority for Colo/XD have a big advantage being made in another studio with scope and pushbacks for deadlines involved IMO. Pokken was always a banger for me when it came out on the Wii U, even when it wasn't popular (a new pokemon game being weirdly unpopular in the pokemon community bc of nostalgia andy behavior? more likely than you'd think).

They could take a page from Marvel vs Capcom. That game had a character called Taskmaster. Canonically, he absorbs hero's powers and uses them himself, so they copied other character's moves for his entire kit.

It's not turning into any pokemon. That's Ditto thing. Zoroark pretends to be other pokemon. Mechanics of Zoroark should allow to trick other player into thinking he's somebody other, but still have his typing, parameters, attacks.

Watched through the entire thing with the biggest, dumbest grin on my face! So happy to see you come back to this, and it was as great as I expected it would be if you played it with friends. This game is so underrated and it hurts that such a good concept and execution Nintendo just kinda threw aside. Really hoping the end of tournament support for it this year means they may actually be planning a sequel or something. I can dream, I can stay high on that copium.

I'd like to explain the system a bit in case you guys do more of these vids (and I hope you do).
Attacks beat Grabs
Grabs beat Counters
Counters beat Attacks
When they clash, you can tell what types of attacks are clashing when your pokemon change colors and that barrier animation plays. Attacks are Red, Counters are Blue, and Grabs are Green. When one attack beats another in a clash, the winning attack gets a damage boost (critical hit) which is accompanied by that electrical sound effect. A BIG part of this game is calling out what type of move your opponent is about to use and beating it with a better one. Also, characters are balance differently by having more or less of certain move types than other characters.
This is just the surface of the game but it's probably the most important foundation to know for playing at pretty much any level. 👍
It’s also stylistically clever, as they use the colors of the starter Pokémon, with Grass, fire and water. Fire (attacks) beats grass (grabs), Grass (grabs) beat water (counters, as well as blocking), and Water (counters and blocking) beats fire (attacks).
PLEASE do more of this game. 🙏

The video made me realize that the rock paper scizor mechanic actually mirrors how fire, water, and grass types interact with each other, colors and all
Finally, people who appreciate Pokken. My people, I’ve found them. Please just keep bringing this back whenever. Also fun fact this is the only fighting game to have a good sword fighter.
Yoo Pokken Tournament is so damn cool and fun as well. I would love a sequel or even extra DLC with characters like Marshadow, Urshifu and Regigias making an appearance. Oh and Deoxys too would be sick especially with their different forms 🌟

This game really needs a sequel this is the Super Smash Bros of Pokemon it's really good and feels like you're playing by the Pokemon Anime rules which leads to insane battles and also the story mode was amazing at the end with Shadow Mewtwo a super cool form of Mewtwo that was extremely strong and the fact it blocks your Synergy Guage during the first 2 rounds against it really makes it feel more powerful.
They really need to make a sequel. Love this game so much. Heard that the producer is up to making a sequel as long as the pokemon company and nintendo are also cool with it. Also make a rank the super video! The supers in this game are so hype

I loved pokemon growing up, but I guess as I got older I struggled to get into the modern games.
But I found myself enjoying the various spin offs even more. Pokken being one of my recent favorites, and I'm glad to have this game.
This is my 2nd favourite pokemon spinoff game. My favourite is pokemon battle revolution on the wii, absolute bopping soundtrack

I had this idea the other day, but imagine a mainline pokemon game that plays like FF7R where you can mash the attacks but still use the turn based moves. All in the engine or style of Pokken.

Honestly, it's truly disappointing that they'll probably never make another Pokken game, there are so many pokemon, both old and new, that would be perfect for it.
Some that I would love to see: Kangaskhan, Vigoroth/Slaking, Vespiquen, Dusclops/Dusknoir, Dewott/Samurott/Hisuian Samurott, Zoroark/Hisuian Zoroark, Darmanitan/Galarian Darmanitan, Pawniar/Bisharp, Malamar, Toucannon, Golisopod, Cramorant, Galarian Farfetch'd/Sirfetch'd, Urshifu, Annihilape, Tinkaton, Brute Bonnet, Iron Hands, Gholdengo, Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant.
There are just so many options for diverse, creative movesets and playstyles, to the point that the biggest problem such a game would face(other than TPC actually letting it happen) is narrowing down the sheer amount of options to a realistic roster size.
Wait till they figure out Pikachu is literally Heihachi Mishima.

I absolutely love this game, and I have it both for the Wii U and switch. I think it’s *absolutely* criminal they gave it such little attention (and also left another empty gap in the roster select like on Wii U seriously why) and that it *absolutely* deserves a sequel. With February 27th rolling around… maybe… but probably not. Here’s hoping though.
