You can use the lightning to usb c cable if your drive has a usb C port, directly to ipad.

interesting docking station. i wish i saw this video earlier. I purchased an Anker docking station for my lenovo yoga slim 7i. maybe this one from ugreen was a better choice

Both are solid brands, just remember this UGreen dock doesn't come with a power adapter.
