    I would like you guys if possible, to do a dive into the verse talking about a man who forgets what he saw in the mirror.
    I think most people read that and think “oh it’s implying the man should’ve changed and didn’t”
    When in my humble opinion, I believe it actually speaks to the fact that we as people (bc of chasing change and obedience) forget so easily how wretched we truly are. The only way to combat that, is THE Gospel.
    A mirror is a place of acknowledgment, we have to acknowledge 2 things, how wretched we are in this flesh, but also we acknowledge that we are the righteousness of God in Christ.
    We are starving and spiritually anemic BC we want and are chasing after drastic change, but that only comes from the redemption we have in our blessed hope. Everything is dead works.
    Theocast, feel free to leave any loving humble response.

    I must have missed something along the way. I have been a dispensationalist for many years and have always known my salvation is based only on what Jesus finished on the Cross in my behalf. I stand perfect before God, and am now saved and sealed by the Spirit until the day of redemption. My obedience is from my faith in Christ and my obedience is to believe in the One who was sent! The difference from my understanding between the dispensational view and the Reformed view is whether the Church replaces Israel. As a dispensationalist, I reject the Calvinistic view of theology and the teaching of Lordship Salvation! Almost all you proclaim in your podcasts I agree with, and am pleasantly surprised when I listen to your program!

      Good insights. The differences between Dispensationalism and Reformed theology go much deeper than just Israel Vs the Church. For example, both _Lordship Salvation_ and _Free Grace_ are both Dispensational. They are diametrically opposed to each other, but both of them are natural consequences of Dispensationalism.
      The Lordship/Free Grace debate was an intra-dispensational debate that ended up splashing Reformed theology *just because* McArthur has borrowed some elements of Calvinism, and therefore people wrongly associate Reformed theology with LS.

    The Left Behind movie really terrifies me as a kid. They said that it is very difficult to be saved when someone left after the rapture of the church.

    You all lay down the law. Well, not that law. But you are doing great work in exposing the legalism in much of evangelicalism. I got blocked on Facebook by a Scottish Presbyterian the other day for arguing that sanctification is by faith alone. Grace does scare many professing Christians --- I hope they are Christians.

    I traded my inheritance of Adam by genealogy and now I am in the New Man, Christ Jesus and now have his inheritance. We are baptized into Christ by the Spirit. Our new life is now a
    spiritual life, not flesh life, however, our bodies will be changed into a spiritual body. Until this fleshly life is over, I am learning what the life in Christ is, with perfection upon resurrection. Then I'll be as he is. In the old Adam, I was as he was/is, a sinner with inheritance of death and hell.

    I love you guys, and I have quoted you several times in my videos because your content is so good. If I may add a small critique? I think you are too soft on false gospel messages. When a person is adding anything to the gospel message other than the finished work of Christ, that is a false gospel message. When this is being done by a well studied pastor from a pulpit, we can't then say about these people that they are well meaning. These teachings are usually being put out by pride sick, self righteous, people, who don't understand their NEED for Gods grace. They then pass off this theology to others, who become teachers of the same false message.
    The damage that these people do is unaccountable. These people overturn the faith of many. Some of the Bibles harshest words were reserved for these very types of teachers. What kind of theology in Galatians 5 did Paul state had caused some to fall from grace and be severed from Christ? Can you think of language like that used elsewhere in Paul's teachings? What did Paul say in Galatians 1 about false gospel messages and those who teach them? He said they are ACCURSED. Why such strong language? Because eternal life and eternal death is on the line. A corrupted gospel message is a powerless gospel message. The enemy comes to kill steal and destroy. His ministers are ministers of righteousness. We need to be unashamed of the gospel message. Love you guys.

      I would have to agree on ALL of this comment.
      Well explained.
      "lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect"
      That's a very serious repercussion.

    In the context of Law/Grace where does the parable of the sheep and goats fit in? Jesus seems to say that our judgement will be based on what we do for or to others. Thanks

      Good luck with getting an answer. I've asked about this on so many channels, but it seems this is one scripture everyone wants to avoid, except the anti-Paul channels, and the Jesus-only channels.

    The law and gospel confusion comes from the words of Jesus more then anywhere else.

    You make some good points. You might want to check out I Corinthians 11: 3,4: "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head." Loving Christ as you say you do, why do you dishonor Him, your Head?

  • @JohnArcycle

    Come on. Jesus said “ Therefore you are to be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” How is that the gospel? Did Jesus really preach the gospel? I would argue that the gospel was not available until after Pentecost. I follow the risen Christ. Without the resurrection there is no gospel.

      “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.””
      (Galatians 3:8 ESV)

      @@THEOCAST ok you got me there. But there in lies my confusion. The old covenant believers look forward to the the fulfillment of the promise. Christs death and resurrection brought the promise into the light. I don’t see any way I could have been saved under the old covenant. How could I ever think I was worthy to receive the promise. I like all the unsaved bad guys in the Old Testament.

      that word in Greek is teleion
      it has multiple meanings
      how do you know it was talking about sinless perfection when it was used? why would Jesus tell them to do something no human can achieve even with the Holy Spirit?

    • @MFaith777
      @MFaith777 11 месяцев назад +1

      I think the point of Jesus saying that is to show us our need for Him. We can’t ever be perfect. Only He can. So, in Him, we are His righteousness, His perfection.

    • @MikejHamel
      @MikejHamel 9 месяцев назад

      @@MFaith777Exactly. Just like the sermon on the mount. Jesus raise the bar to the impossible...just so we would see that it was impossible without Him. .
      Then who can be saved? With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

    Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. Ive actually, to my dismay been advised not to search for Christ in every scriptural teaching in the Bible. When in fact, the bible is ALL about Him and His plan to redeem His people.
