It's really sad to see this epic old lift in such a bad condition. You can tell how beautiful it once was just by looking at the cab
It's had a partial modernisation but this is still a very scary lift - love the way the doors open in a "I don't really give a s**t" attitude style HAHA! Great lift.

I love this. Brings back memories of when I was a kid when my father would take me to work with him in Manhattan. Around noon he'd go around midtown to visit his accounts and many of them had old Otis elevators in their buildings like this one (without the scratched-in graffiti, of course). Excellent video. Gold star. 🌟

Ive actually heard otis was the only company making automatic door elevators back in the 20s and they were the first company to develope automatic ones
