  • Early in his career, Ray Bradbury wrote horror stories and scary mystery stories. He wrote those for a very good reason: They were sold & published! Better yet, he gained instant noteriety with over a hundred million people listening to his stories on Suspense and Escape.
    The sound quality is flawless.

      Whenever I leave and then come back into my office and hear a radio show on YT that's clear, crisp and with high fidelity with the music especially distinct, it's always because it's been one of your restorations. Really, I hear the difference immediately. Good work.

      Claudio de Rochefoucault That means a lot to me. Every time RUclips hits me with a false copyright claim ( You'd be surprised how many companies think they can "retroactively" copyright a public domain broadcast - they can't, by law) I get frustrated and discouraged. Comments like yours make me want to continue my work. But I still have to take an hour to dispute each and every false claim, something I NEVER foresaw.

      I understand from reading about it that no radio drama could be copyrighted until either '73 or '78, at least in the U.S. I always buy my music from libraries that offer cleared music; also all my images are cleared. I write the stories and the scripts.

    They misspelled Ms. Lupino's name. Ida Lupino, her life and career longevity, is amazing.

      +Cheryl Campbell I'm the guilty party. When I created cover-art for Ida, I misspelled it three times. It was not caught untill after I uploaded the program. I can spell her hubby Howard Duff okay! Thanks for the listening to my uploads, and thanks for commenting.

      @@SuspenseESCAPEremastered I love Ray Bradbury, and this prompted me to look up Ms. Lupino again. She was an amazing, accomplished woman. I've been switching more to radio plays/audio books instead of watching. It's nice. I'm introducing my 19 yo grandson to this genre too. He has anxiety problems, and he doesn't need, or enjoy, all the dark stuff his generation is bombarded with. He's interested in acting, and it's good for him to learn about voice work. Again: thanx for the reply!

      @@cherylcampbell9369 Bradbury is my favorite author. I discovered these great radio shows about 15 years ago, while listening to Audiobooks. These dramas often have a calming effect, because they involve only the mind. I still listen to these every night. Thank you for subscribing, and I hope your grandson likes these! - I will always respond (eventually) to anyone's comments!

      @Suspense & ESCAPE! my major was commercial art/graphic design. It's amazing how easy it is to misspell when you're lettering something because you're concentrating on everything but the spelling!!!! The font style, size, spacing, colors, etc. We learned to check the word spelling backwards. And to walk away from your work for at least 15 minutes and when you come back most errors are glaringly obvious!

    If memory serves me this is the very first Autolite episode. I could be wrong but I believe this to be sort of a sequel to "The Whole Town's Sleeping"

      @SuspenseESCAPEremastered  6 лет назад +3

      You're right about Autolite. It's the only time they used a jingle (a lame one, too!) This story is very, very similar to "Sleeping." You know your stuff.
