The terminal is already crowded and has to be expanded even more. Goa is actually going to get a lot more tourists with improved infrastructure and growing wealth of Indians, not less. Maybe the Indian Navy should shift operations to a nearby base and open the current airport to 24 hours ops. The size of the state does not matter.
Really ? I have experienced rain water pouring in from the roof . I was very sad to see the terminals poor look from the runway. The roof looks poor at the arrival .Need to give a elegant and marvelous look. if you are talking about the state of art airport .long way to go ...
It is a project which took more than 20 years from concept to commissioning. That is, most of the officials have retired from service since then. Even today, it is not complete. The airport handles 290 weekly flights, with Delhi being the most connected city. The airport was designed to hold 200 flights and accommodate 15,000 passengers daily, but it has yet to reach this capacity. It's uncertain how the airport will recoup the ₹32.01 billion investment and when it will break even. Operating flights and generating revenue from liquor sales, parking fees, and advertising alone will not be sufficient. Even the airlines using the airport may not benefit significantly. This presents a paradox in the dynamics of the aviation business. The actual beneficiaries will likely be the investors who have invested in the 200 acres of land around the airport. This may be the only positive outcome after the 40-year concession period, two years of which has already passed. You wonder if it is worth it?

That would be Sad if they do shut Dabolim Airport !
I think they really shouldn't shut down Dabolim, but instead implement some fast public transport, like a metro track between North-South
