Used your method of pulling connectors and feeling and listening to engine change. It worked. Was able to not feel any difference with one of the 6. Changed it and now everything is running well again. Thanks.
You know a tutorial is well done when you don't own the car and your interest is still held. It also demonstrates what a PITA a transverse mounted V configuration engine is to do even the most simple tasks on.
Very informative video. Young man you are so patient with your videos. Always covering all the little fine points. I wanted to know if you would consider doing a oil pressure test on an Acura TL or Rl.? Keep up the great videos and thank you for posting them.
Can a leaking valve gasket or spark plug tube seal( the blue things) cause a misfire on banks 4,5, and 6? The valve gasket is breaking down on 4,5,6 side as well as the plug tube seals.... Help please
@Tyrone Shoelaces I just changed the bad coil and have not have any issues. My car is low mileage around 100k. I looked at all the coils and they are all great condition
@Tyrone Shoelaces these cars computer are very sensitive. It took 3 days for my car to clear all codes. The only issue was the coil but the car had emission lights and traction controls lights on. The codes cleared all by themselves I didn't have any special computers to clear codes
In need of help my 06 Acura TL randomly shit off on me while driving and wouldn’t start back up. I replaced starter, alternator, spark plugs and coils and had better check and it was fine need you help
#5 coil pack is leaking is it possible to just change maybe 4 5 n 6 or just 1 that's leaking 5 is leaking just changed oil plan to clean atleast valve cover eventually more $ is tight 07tls auto coming up on 84kmiles
Nobody will even see this comment let alone reply to it but here goes. My 2008 TL has 2 bad coils, 2 and 4, had it checked with a high quality code scanner. The problem I have is ...the dam coils work all spring, summer and fall, but as soon as the bad Canadian Winter arrives, wet, slushy roads, damp winter weather, the car will start to miss, sometimes just one and then sometimes both at once, which causes the car to shake violently, so much that the starting and stopping of the motor makes me feel it's going to snap my timing belt and that will ruin the engine. People say that my coils are wet and are simply grounding out, but once the car's coils misfire, they misfire for days and then one day, they are just great for a week or 2. There is NO way there is water /moisture inside the engine spark plug holes after driving for an hour, so I'm thinking that I have maybe wiring issues on top of the motor where splashed, salty road ice and snow is getting to the wiring, but even under that plastic cover, the engine is as hot as an oven. The code reader does say random ignition coil misfire, but if the thin wires going to the coil are shorting out, it would still say the coils are bad wouldn't it? Right now, I'm having 2 coils replaced with EMD coils for 79 bucks a piece here in Canada, and I was thinking of picking up a can of electrical wire spray that prevents moisture from getting into the wires and causing a short against the engine...it can't hurt right?
Could you put a video on how a normal engine sound like on 06 TL, and when I was test driving an Acura similar to yours the engine sounds a bit loud. But the car seem mechanic free. So what I’m asking should you be hearing the engine noise while your driving with these kind of gen3 cars of ACURA?
I have a question, my 2005 Acura tl started off by flashing the check engine light. the car was shaking then it started smoking, coil #6 burnt but my car was already showing the camshaft position sensor on the scanner. I already replaced the sensor and all my coils. it doesnt have that final spark it even tho it tries to turn on, if you or anyone knows anything about this id appreciate it because my mechanics are also confused. the spark plugs nor sensor get signal, theres a hesitation but no spark due to that.
Ignition coils are cheap?! I found some oem ones for the sensible price of $148 EACH!! Umm.....this is a Honda, right? My c207 chassis Mercedes oem coils are $48 from Benz direct sites. About $25 from fcp euro. Thats a normal price. Am I missing something here? Glad this is my moms car...assuming whoever makes the coils sells them for an actual Honda price or do people just run some advance auto parts garbage? I know no one is seriously paying that money for coils on this car.
Dude it's like $100 for all 6. Look around. www.carparts.com/details/Acura/TL/Replacement/Ignition_Coil/2006/SET-REPH504616-6.html?TID=gglpla&origin=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwufn8BRCwARIsAKzP694FvAo9TrXe0XVU_NamHzHqwNeSJ9hV8gb-VnsCt7VAd_khp73_ogUaAo1eEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
@@ben3438 I appreciate your reply, & don't know 100% about carparts.com legitimacy, but I'm talking about oem parts. I know I can get Chinese garbage for cheap, but the fact the proper ones cost literally 4-5x's as much as a set of Bosch Porsche coils is actually ludicrous. Then again, I'm sure the J series isn't as picky & will probably be fine.

thanks for this vid. what color wire is the positive to coil?
Whats your opinion on just changing the bad coil and not replacing all of them at once?
