There really is something about pure tones that just hit different for me. The depth of the bass from the triangle, just absolutely gets me every time.
I think the largest NES game was Dragon Warrior IV at 1,025 KB. The NSF for this track is 40.6 KB, so I'd say there'd be plenty of room for a game, especially since as you said, most games were less than 500 KB.
Omg, got double nostalgiakick from this. Its like Adventures of Link & Ocarina of Time combined. This is just...incredible. By far the best Famitracker song out there.
Just one criticism, and yes, I know this video is old. You forgot the part of the song where it gets dramatic and sounds like an enemy approaching. Still a great cover nontheless, but if you could intersperse that part back into this cover, it would make this my favorite Famitracker cover of all time.
The way I see it, none of these tracks are really my property to decide who can or can't use them. Feel free to apply them however you like. Credit is always appreciated, but by no means required.
I learned simply by making lots of covers and eventually I figured out a few tricks I liked to use. That took a long time, though. If you want to speed up the process and start out armed with some basic knowledge of Famitracker, I suggest watching 8bitdanooct1's Famitracker tutorial on his channel.
Ha! I respond! Finally. Kinda. Point is I can show that ~part~ of the original piece can be captured in the stock 4 channels with a bit of creativity. Maybe next time I have 2 months and no other side projects going, I'll tackle the combat section of the track.
1. You can download some that are already out there or make your own (I prefer the latter). There are too many different ways to do it to describe here, though. 2. Yes. I usually start at a pretty high speed so I don't run into that issue. 3. Yes, you can use the Gxx effect to delay notes so they create triplets.
Fuck, this reminds me VERY much when I played this on nintendo 64. I think I'm going to play again, I want to remember everything of the best game I ever played. I'm not an old man and I have a gaming computer with Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis, but I know Zelda still the best game ever excisted. I already finished it 13 times and now I want to finish again.
You have a knack for taking huge songs and retaining their huge-ness in FamiTracker. I really gotta hand it to you; this is awesome. Related: How the hell do you keep getting such kickass DPCM samples?
@BWIceSoldier I have a variety of methods, some quite laborious. I was considering making a tutorial for creating your own DPCM samples. I just need to find my microphone and see if I can't coax a few more fps out of camstudio.
no pun intended, but any way nice job, it makes me want to go play it but my wii broke and i sold my gc for that wii and i had a 3ds until it got lost. XD
I have a 3 of questions about famitracker (i've just started using it!) 1. How does one use the DPCM channel, do you download samples, can you make your own, if so, how? 2. If you want, say, notes that are twice as fast as the smallest division, do you just have to double the speed, and then double the spacing? 3. Are triplets possible?
Wow this is great! :D You don't mind me using it in a game I'm making using MIT's Scratch program do you? I'd give you credit in the description too. :) I might use you're Twilight Princess theme too, I can't decide. XD They'd both be a great field theme. :P
nice mix it makes me want to get taken into the game like captain n did and go on some zelda adventures and go through time with the games, i also like what you did at this part, 2:40) nice job, mind if I make an extended version of it
There really is something about pure tones that just hit different for me. The depth of the bass from the triangle, just absolutely gets me every time.
When I was a kid, I wished ocarina of time was on the game boy. This is how I thought it would kind of sound.
Yeah, if you inserted a micro-chip into it that allowed it to have all this extra sound channels :/
Terminal montage brought me to this glorious moment of recreation. 5:40🤌🏻🔥

You should have saved this and submitted it to Famicompo, then made the video after judging was over, cause this is awesome.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, DAN !!! :D
Shot back in time from the TerminalMontage video. Miss you
Btw he's alive, he posted something a week ago
If only I could replace the first LoZ overworld theme on my NES with this!
That would be epic!
Colton Shuman , but then you wouldn't have The Legend Of Zelda theme.
This song might actually be too complicated to be ran on the NES... ;(
MK is right :/ it would be cool as hell, but even on its own as a standalone tune, the NES would hardly have enough processing power to run it.
***** Processing power isn't an issue. What would be missing is the VRC6 expansion sound chip.
Welcome Back From TerminalMontage Bois
**rolling intensifies**
I came from TerminalMontage
Same
SonicSprites same

Same sonic
i came from terminal montage, then returned cause this be a jam
I don't know why, but i always felt like this could be the intro theme for a Pokemon game...
+IncapableLP it does have that Pokemon intro feel to it
Yeah. Maybe
I find a lot of Nintendo themes have that feel to them...
Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way
Nicely done, it gave me some goosebumps.
I can't express just how amazing your 8-bit demakes/remixes are! These are amazing and you've definitely earned a subscriber!
Omg, got double nostalgiakick from this.
Its like Adventures of Link & Ocarina of Time combined.
This is just...incredible. By far the best Famitracker song out there.
I really don't see why you don't have more subs than you have. :L You make some high quality 8-bit remixes.
Look at that like ratio! Good work, my friend!
listening this music make me remember running in the Hyrule fields with the legendaries "yaaaap"
This just gets better as it goes on. It's really awesome.

Oh shit.
I'm somewhat disappointed that the Hyrule Field Battle part never came into play, but otherwise it is amazing.
Yeah, that part. I thought there were other enemies that you could encounter in Hyrule Field, though.
bruh the battle part is the worst part of the song. im glad its not here
anyone here from terminalmontage?
Me.
Me
Me
Me and it sounds amazing with headphones

amazing work ^_^ you definitely need for recognition for the work you put into this
This is ridiculously amazing, really pushes the system to it's limit.
wow love some of the articulation and dynamics compared to the original! Awesome
I just realized this video is two years old today :D
without reading this comment, i don't know when i would realize this
And I just realized that this video is three years old by reading this comment.
4 years.

Most amazing cover I've ever heard!

I just did, and I feel much more comfortable with the program. Thanks man!
You just earned a SUBSCRIBE mate!
Such good work!
I think it's when the weather's calm, or it's morning. There are certainly more than one pieces used at different times of day
Ha! I respond! Finally. Kinda. Point is I can show that ~part~ of the original piece can be captured in the stock 4 channels with a bit of creativity. Maybe next time I have 2 months and no other side projects going, I'll tackle the combat section of the track.
Yet another fantastic cover. Your work is top notch! :)
1. You can download some that are already out there or make your own (I prefer the latter). There are too many different ways to do it to describe here, though.

Jesus, man. i was thinking of doing a cover on this, but this makes what i inagined look like crap haha. Props to you, this was amazing
Do a 2A03 cover that's reminiscent of Zelda 1! I'd love to hear that!
Manly tears
That bass is nice!
Author of "Galendor: Ye Dude From Yonder Forest"
Did you really just advertise your book

this is wondeful
i subbed
I think you have to have tried using Famitracker or any sort of tracker to understand how well-done of a cover this is. Well done!
Best NSF-related subscription ever. Will you be participating in this Famicompo?
Brilliant!
Dang bro this is sick! Subbing!
it reminds me of running around Hyrule feild
excellent job. I was thinking of a link between worlds when I was watching this.
You have a knack for taking huge songs and retaining their huge-ness in FamiTracker. I really gotta hand it to you; this is awesome. Related: How the hell do you keep getting such kickass DPCM samples?
One full byte of likes ! Quite fitting to say the least ! ;)
Thank you very much. Great job by the way it's an awesome cover.
OMG YES!!
Hey man! I love your work. Where did you learn to use FamiTracker so well? I'm a fledgling, and wonder how to get more knowledge and experience!
I put a link in the description.
This is awesome!
Not bad. Really not bad.
Nice remix
Nostalgia
0:00 OK, not bad.
0:18 Subscribed.
This is impressive!

This reminds me of The Minish Cap for some reason, and makes me think of a Gameboy port of OoT
you just earned a subscriber
Do you have any of the .ftm files available?
Would love to see how some of these tracks tick
Harmonically lossless.
Capital A Awesome.
Anything from mario galaxy teminds me of this song
no pun intended, but any way nice job, it makes me want to go play it but my wii broke and i sold my gc for that wii and i had a 3ds until it got lost. XD

It sounds like a Pokémon music
@slondavokensteen more like he has the honor to fav this song
This is one of the coolest things I've heard in a long time! Nostalgia overload!!!!
Do you have the mp3 up for download somewhere????
Wow this is great! :D You don't mind me using it in a game I'm making using MIT's Scratch program do you? I'd give you credit in the description too. :) I might use you're Twilight Princess theme too, I can't decide. XD They'd both be a great field theme. :P

There is no way in hell I would ever be able to make something like this lol. Just started using it.
@themetalsonic94 It looks like Famitracker has its own site now, apart from shoodot. famitracker com seems to be what you're looking for.
Jawdropping awesome! :D :-) )
Please make more!
What I don't get is why I can't find a SNES version of this song...as freaking awesome as the NES is able to do on it despite that.
Nice!!
If OoT was NES game
This is awesome!
So if you put this song into an actual Nintendo cartridge, do you think there would be any space left for the actual game?
They used this in Windwaker when you're out on the open sea, didn't they?
WOW
Reminds me a bit of running around in pokemon. maybe its just the 8bit lol
Ooh, hope you don't mind if I snag that Timpani DPCM sample for some Tactics Ogre.
I would put this into my game if I knew how xD
put it on 0.95x (only works on pc)
1 dislike.
That's bout right
@RecycleDucks It's unlikely.
Why can't I download Famitracker now? The website for Famitracker doesn't have a download link since the whole website changed.
o3o Where's my Gameboy?
and to think this could run on the nes... :O
:O
How could anyone possibly dislike this?!
