Those cars were breathtakingly beautiful!! That Ferrari 641, OMG!
Yess 👍🏻🇧🇷
That Ferrari was the most beautiful design. And sound.
i dont think ive ever seen footage like this. well done.
Thanks! I’m glad you like it. I should be doing more uploads in a few weeks.
Can't like this enough really, what an absolute privilege it is to witness such a beautiful era of f1 history. That schizophrenic b190 livery is amongst my absolute favourites. The Ferrari tho , and Senna's MP4/6. I'm in love!
I agree, the cars were so beautiful back then. I’m glad you like the video, I will upload more in the coming weeks 😊
Ah the cars back then
10:30 is a perfect example of difference in sound of V8s V10s and V12s
Oh someone else said that
@@PacMan592 it’s ok, it’s still beautiful 🙂
@@robhurley5258 o que o Ricardo patrese está conversandoo
Nannini, what could have been.
At 2:19 "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me?
I was there that day. Working 20 minutes away from the track, i could hear the engines when I left the shop. I managed to get there before the after noon session ends and see the most beautiful Ferrari and McLaren ever. And the sound! I was in heaven!
Great comment!!! Thanks!
Piquet the legend !!!
ESSA ERA UMA F1 RAIZ, TAQPARIU MOTORES QUE AINDA ERAM MOTORES MECANICA PURA!!! HONDA, FERRARI, FORD, YAMAHA, RENAULT, V8 , V10 V12 SIFONIAS !! QUE NOSTALGIA!!!
Nelson Piquet, The legend, The Grand Master
Piquet was my favorite driver back then
I liked him then. Sadly shown himself to be a racist nutcase in recent times.
Great driver, underated unfortunately
@@absinthedudeeveryone has said something racist in there life so i don’t think it really matters. also people don’t know that the word he used doesn’t even translate into english
Yes, at this time Piquet was the boss, he was three times world champion whereas Senna had only one.
At 10:30 you hear a V8, followed by a V10, followed by a V12.
Great observation, thanks!
Grande Piquet
07:34, that moment! Amazing!!!!
Thanks! When I was taking this video I was kneeling right next to Senna’s car, then as the cars started to leave the pits, my legs felt like they were in cement and I couldn’t move. For a second I thought , “OMG, Senna’s going to run over me!” You can tell I was flustered, as I forgot to take the camera off “record” as I started walking around. Then at 8:34 one of Bernie’s guys spotted me and noticed I didn’t have the proper sticker on my camera. He told me I couldn’t film in the pits, I pleaded ignorance, and he was nice enough to just let me go!
@@robhurley5258 Incredible!! I'm 30 years old, and I just can imagine that moment from your footage. But you lived it and it makes me happy! My consolation will be to go an Imola Storic Day and feel these engines, but unfortunately never I can see Senna, Mansell, Prost, Patrese, & Piquet in a grid :/ Greetings from Montevideo, and Thanks for upload this!!!
@@mercantgarmendia6710 it’s great to learn more about you and share videos with fans from all around the world! Montevideo looks very beautiful! I have many more videos, so keep watching 😊
Vídeo belíssimo! Muito obrigada por nos proporcionar esse tesouro! Minha época favorita da F1❤️
Many many thanks fot this video, those cars are so great, engine sounds were fabulous, and see these pilots was so so great
Thank you for your comment and I agree!
Thanks for this footage Rob. You let me travel in the time back when i was a 10 years old boy watching Formel 1 and cheering for Senna on tv. But you have been there with all the legends. Lucky guy. Thanks again.
You are very welcome! Thank you for the thoughtful comment, and I really do consider myself lucky
I would like to join in on the compliments. Wonderful footage.
I'm from Montreal and I was there each year from 1983 to 1997!
That’s awesome! I went from 1982 to 1994, and 1997. Some of the best times of my life 😊
Thank you for this gem Mr. Hurley. Such clean designs. The Ferrari 641 is a beaut. Keep the uploads coming.
Thanks, I appreciate your comments 😊
This is treasure. I cannot tell whether it is objective or just because this was 'my' F1, but I just feel like we lost something over the years. You can feel it in this video. It's not so far removed from the paddock of the 60s.
Objective or not, it’s how you feel, and how many of us feel. To me the Formula 1 we knew will never return. But on the bright side, I still enjoy WEC and IMSA races and MotoGP fills the gap left by F1, although not completely.
Thank you, Rob! Your great video brings back fantastic memories. I was the Camel Team Lotus press officer that year.
That’s sooo cool! I bet you have great memories! Thanks for commenting 😊
@@robhurley5258 You are welcome. t was cool! Thank you for posting your vids. What a fantastic time that was for F1 fans.
Real men in real race cars
The good old days.
Powered by Ford!
Nigel, my hero ! ...How great materials I found today, my memories are live again.... One race from that time is still worth more and gives me more excitement than two whole seasons today.
Thanks and I’m glad you like it! I will be posting much more 😊
Why some drivers went to the pit exit so early? The stayed there for almost 5 minutes.
Not sure, but since it was the first session of the weekend maybe they wanted to get out early and establish a baseline
Muito bom, que vídeo bacana.
Carros lindos de uma era marcante da fórmula 1
Thanks and I agree with your comment!
Awesome why am I just now seeing this lol. Those cars sound amazing, that’s what a race car is supposed to sound like 👍🏻
Haha - thanks for the message and I’m glad you like the video 😊
Muito bom o vídeo, com os vídeos amadores você tem uma visão diferente
Thanks!
Formula 1at it's very best: the real heroes in the cockpit of those screaming beauties: every single one of those cars from the front of the grid to the back.
I really miss those days, the sport was so entertaining and exciting.
that glorius sound......
fucking brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha thanks!
this is awesome, i'm a happy old fart...
Haha thanks!
Amazing video! Thanks for uploading. Brings me back to my childhood! We lived 20km upstream from the track and I still remember hearing the faint sound of these beasts when the GP circus was in town!
Sometimes I was late to get to the track for the warmup on Sunday morning and you could here the cars from across the river 😊

it's easy to fix the aspect ratio, why wouldn't the poster do that, its squished by 10% or more

Thanks for uploading. Incredible footage
Thanks! Glad you like it 😊
Fantastic. Love how fast the last chicane was back then.
The Williams and the Ferrari what a sound
Wow! Takes me back to Silverstone in the late 80's and early 90's. Fantastic. Thank you.
9:33
Sounds nice 😊
A lot more laid back and less complicated than today and a lot more beautiful. More about the racing than the glitz and glamour
Very much agree!
Que carros lindos. E capacetes marcantes.
Yes, it was so beautiful to watch back then!
You must of earnt a fare bit of money back in the day or you new a few people behind the scenes. Getting a paddock pass was un heard of back then!
Well, I wish I made a lot of money, and I really didn’t know anyone, but where there is a will there is a way! 😊
Unique footage! Very rapid cars.
Thanks! Yes, incredibly fast!
What a precious movie this is!!
Thank you so much for shareing🙏
Thanks! I’m glad you like it 😊
Thanks for sharing this footage. Great to see candid footage of the drivers. I'm surprised none of them gave you a little wave considering how close you were
Thanks, I think I might have received a wave in footage I haven’t uploaded yet. Then again, these guys were pretty numb to cameramen.
Amazing footage. My dad photographed as much racing as he could in this era...mostly CART and NASCAR, but he always went to Montreal and Detroit for F1, too, and he was there this weekend in 1990 for sure. This is the closest I'll probably ever get to seeing and hearing the action from his perspective. I have his slides, but what I don't have is his memories to play back in my mind, so thank you for this.
What a wonderful comment. Your dad certainly did it right. With his slides you can gain some perspective on where he sat and who he liked. I’m getting down to the last of my videos, but I’ve been saving the best for last and will steadily be uploading my best videos from the 1988-1991 Canadian GP’s.
@@robhurley5258 it’s great stuff, thanks for sharing it. Most of the family trips we took when I was a kid were race weekends, so I’d say I was present for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the races my dad covered, albeit relegated to spectator areas, so it’s really cool to get a look at things from those photo spots only he was able to access.
Thanks all of these recordings!
You are always welcome! More to come 😊
Amazing!
thanks for sharing this great video!
You’re welcome!

Wow good year supplied tires to F1
I saw that too and had forgotten about it. They actually supplied F1 for many years
@@robhurley5258 some NASCAR cup champions were at COTA this week testing tires for good year wonder what they’re working on

Real f1,real cars,real drivers,all cars beautiful
Completely agree!
THANK YOU Rob Hurley!
Screaming engines
Lots of smaller teams
Points only given to the first 6 positions
No pussy-ass halo
Those were the days
I hate the new points system!
This would be so much better if it had been edited a bit. Simple programs like Final Cut can be used and improve a posting like this tremendously. Parts like this 7:45 to 8:15 can be very annoying.
7:45 was when Senna pulled away and I thought he was going to hit me and I was so frazzled I almost dropped the camera. That moment means something to me, so I’m not going to edit it out.
