- When Rusty gets fed up with Fred's illnesses, Atlas tells a cautionary tale. After all, he's seen a similar situation before and it didn't end well.
Thank-you to the voice actors, modelmakers and others involved for keeping this video under wraps. I appreciate it.
Thomas and Friends copyright Hit Entertainment. No profit is being made from this video.
Okay folks, I'm going to make one thing clear for those unfamiliar with the intro to this episode. It is from a series called TUGS, as is the character of Ten Cents. It is not a copy of the one done by Victor Tanzig. His first video with that intro came out a year AFTER this one. He's probably done his as a TUGS tribute, too.
Atlas should’ve went to the works and to not stop at crovans gate
@@rockyfanatic6846 The works are at Crovans Gate.
WildNorWester where did atlas come from
I really like how Atlas told Rusty about a adventure he had with two steam Tug boats. I guess Atlas's fire had been built up just before the accident?
@@WildNorWester I love how you cross the two series over its amazing
'Oh hello atlas......ATLAS!?'
My favourite line ever mate!
Sir Handel's double take when seeing Atlas for the first time is hilarious!
Oh, hello Atlas. *Atlas?!*
"Oh hello Atlas-ATLAS?!" XD
too classic
The best part of the video
@@Lapel19845 indeed
Sweet
Wow, I almost got misty eyed at that TUGs opening.
What does that mean?
+Jake Dickson emotional!
Me too
Crossing the RWS with Tugs
love it
Its a beautiful reference
And I got the fandom has basically agreed that tugs is Canon to Thomas
Hate it
"Oh, hello, Atlas... ATLAS?!"
That's pretty funny.
Never expected a Tugs crossover! But I loved it!
OMG TUGS I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY WHEN THOMAS AND TUGS WERE COMBINED!!!
Great now I want real show to do that.
Hmm tugs in CGI sounds good
yeah
Nope, tugs cgi
It's like thomas and friends and tugs are having a crossover and really miss the TV show tugs
"oh hello Atlas"
...
"ATLAS?!"
The best part of the video
Very nice crossover episode!
Sounds to me as if Fred is the Narrow Gauge version of Derek.
Or Boco when he first arrived. In real life, his basis wasn't the most piratical of diesels built. It's written somewhere in the Railway Series that some rebuilds helped to fix Boco's problem.
*****
Makes sense.
I was kind of thinking more along the route of say Dennis & Norman.
DarthWill3 mixed with a little bit of Stanley, the Mid Sodor Railway's first no 2, being deliberately difficult too.
More like, Der-nis. He’s lazy when unwell, so a mix between Derek and Dennis.
It was a really bold move to incorporate TUGS in, but you pulled it off extremely well :) Nothing about the tugs' inclusion felt forced or jarring, mentions of other characters like Zorran felt natural, and above all the interactions were great :)
Must say also it's great to finally see what your model making skills did with Ten Cents, he looks incredibly detailed, and the lovely water effects in TANE made the visuals all the better.
Amen. Crossovers can be tricky to get right. Tugs had a different writing style from TTTE so it really is something to see how well this turned out. I would ordinarily see them as separate universes but after seeing how well the characters interact without feeling out of place; it's like they were in the same universe all along. :)
TheBlueE2 when did you become the voice of Sir Handel in WildNorWester's series?
Thank-you. I wasn't sure how it would come off.
@@WildNorWester did the tramway where Atlas was bought by close down?
@@quarrylocomotiveproduction5439 Yes.
I wasn't really much for TUGS. Or crossovers (especially in fan projects). But wow, was this a fantastic breath of fresh air!
A crossover with Tugs? I did NOT see that coming! Fantastic job on this episode, Dan. :D
"Oh, hello Atlas. ATLAS?!?!"
I love the TUGS references.
Ffarquhar Engine the whole episode is a TUGS reference.
That ten cents voice is on point
I nearly cried when the TUGS intro music started playing :´)
Well done Dan this is without a doubt the best episode of STMY yet and not just because it has TUGS in it but it was just very enjoyable!
TheGermanofSodor I never saw you cry before. Not being rude to you.
A crossover with TUGS?! Wow, and you wrote it wonderfully, too! I'm especially impressed with GeebMachine's voiceover role of Ten Cents, it sounds really spot on, as far as I can hear.
When the TUGS came in my jaw just dropped. Didn't expect that but loved it!
I love when atlas says the tugs intro
You combined Thomas and Friends with TUGS... Well played WildNorWester, well played.
I don't really keep up with Thomas videos these days but I always have to make a point of seeing what you do next. Some episodes have been hit or miss at times but this has been a truly outstanding series that I have followed for at least 5 years and I have no regrets for doing so. This was certainly a very unexpected outing; Tugs & the RWS together? Well there was enough creative backbone to make it work. Great voice actors too; really brought it to life. On another note the water looks absolutely splendid with Trainz: A New Era. It was a great idea to switch to it.
Thanks :-). I was a bit unsure how it would go down.
I admit I never would have expected this to work without feeling out of place but it just blends together seamlessly. It's certainly a sight to behold considering how different TTTE and Tugs are. Well done on successfully combining the two. :)
@@WildNorWester so Atlas is going to be working alongside Rusty and Fred as one of the maintenance engines from now on right ?
Wow! Never expected Ten Cents! And Drollan, I thought he was an engine but a tugboat is way better! And I love how you let Atlas narrate the story! Nice touch. Amazing episode!!!!
I love how you incorporated Tugs into your series.
"Engines that small, I didn't think that was possible." Just wait till he sees some 7.5 gauge or better yet scale model trains!
All this time I though, What if Thomas and Friends and TUGS were set in the same universe. But when I saw this I was like, OMG!! Great mix!!
I suddenly burst out laughing at the TUGS intro bit. It was so unexpected. It's also very funny to hear Ten Cents with an american accent. It makes a lot of sense in context, but is still hilarious. :P
NICE WORK WILDNORWESTER THE PART WHEN ATLAS SAID "A TUGBOAT IS THE MOST POWERFUL VESSEL AFLOAT AND THIS IS THERE STORY."
I saw the TUGS reference last week, but I didn't think you'd go all out with a crossover!
That was more along the lines of foreshadowing. :-D
***** I'll say. Totally didn't see that coming at all!
So you didn't notice Charlie Hatt's shirts?
***** His shirts... I was so focused on the stories at hand I didn't see that!
Good idea using the Thomugs universe, as I call it.
i just like how sir handel is like hello atlas and then ATLAS?! it is super funny
So at 8:35 Ten Cents is talking about the Z-Stacks and is doing so in past tense. Does that mean this takes place after the one season of TUGS? It would make sense considering TUGS takes place in the 20s while Thomas is in the 40s at the earliest. Also does this mean that Captain Star sold Ten Cents and sent him across the ocean from Bigg City Port to Sodor?
Atlas' flashback takes place in 1951, three decades after the setting of TUGS' original airing. So yes, I'd assume that Ten Cents had been sold from the Star Tugs. Nice to see his Star flag replaced with the new canon Sodor flag. I didn't even notice until the end credits!
Sorry, I didn't really understood your meaning since I haven't watched TUGS myself.
Hey - Atlas' VA here, this story takes place mainly in 1951 whereas the TUGS series takes place in the 1920's. As you can hear Drollan mentioning, Ten Cents arrived on Sodor during World War 2, but I shant say much more.
Explosive Cookie That sounds about right. You did an amazing job as Atlas here.
I guess if we’re saying tugs takes place in America
TUGS! OMG! TUGS! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! You've gotta do a TUGS-based series sometime - there isn't enough TUGS stories on the internet, and there's so much more we can get out of our seacraft friends at Bigg City Port!!!!
Wow! Love the use of Tugs, Part 2 is going along well! Well done yet again!
That TUGS reference really took me by surprise, I was not expecting that at all. But you made it fit so well, I love how you made the intro make its way into the video. Fantastic work. :)
T-T-Tugs?! Well I'll be.
huh, that opening sounds...familiar....where oooh yes TUGS! well done wester. you made me smile wide
I'm happy you got someone to voice ten cents who sounded like ten cents.
I absolutely love this episode!!! TUGS and Thomas together, great idea!
I love the idea of a Thomas and TUGS crossover, but this one is amazing. I would love to learn more on what happened to the rest of the TUGS characters in your series.
YO! TUGS?!?? LITERAL ZORRAN REFERENCES OH MY GOD!!! Bloomin' 'eck that was amazing! I remember somewhere I read about how you wanted to potentially bring in Sunshine to Sodor but this...and I thought your best work couldn't be topped yet. You are as Diesel in the TVS describes himself as, 'full of surprises'.
i must say for someone that havent seen tugs this was interested
Charlie's shirts... The Megaphone... I KNEW IT!!!
TUGS, TUGS, TUGS, OH MY GOD, YES
Duncan's model is beautiful.
Certainly a change in pace! I certainly wasn't expecting this! Great work as always, Dan!
I didn't realize this at first, but in addition to tying TUGS into your Thomas universe I noticed classic Doctor Who references on the ships used in this episode :P. William *Hartnell* and Peter *Davison* (the background ship used), nice play there.
had to watch all episodes of Tugs for the first time in years after watching this crossover
Nice use of TUGS
Yeah. ☺
Heath Whitley Sweet.
Heath Whitley Hey, Man, Keep you eyes up.
I really like that Sir Handel model, Good episode by the way.
Great episode, mate! Loved the usage of TUGS as well. :)
I hope Ten Cents play more roles in the future... perhaps an episode around how he got to England.
Thanks for bringing the series back!
when I heard the tugs theme and saw the tugs. I was just gobbed smacked
Drollan looks remarkably similar to a Z-Stack from the old series.
Maybe he is criminal in a way even his name is similar to Zorran of the z stacks
Ryan Shimko I highly doubt it. I don't even think he is a criminal to begin with. It could just be a coincidence after all.
Most likely just pointing it out is all
"Oh hello Atlas........ATLAS?!"
What a great story! It was a surprise to see Ten Cents appearing.
I have to say, you've done an amazing job as usual. I especially liked when Falcon a.k.a. Sir Handel saw Atlas and said, “Oh hello Atlas. ATLAS?!” That had me laughing to myself.
very clever crossover
I gotta say I really wasn't expecting tugs in this but you pulled it off to make it quite a great episode. well done and definitely looking forward to seeing whats in store. As always :P Out of curiosity, Did you make the tugs models?
I did, yes.
Well, They look great. :)
Well that was a smashing Surprise.
Beautiful episode duse
I agree with you.
This is a great series, Daniel. I've been binge watching it for a while all the way from STEY.
Legit that bit where Drollan’s barges are shown to heading towards Atlas’s tramway I got constant chills up and down my spine, even on my 3rd or 4th viewing of the episode.
well that was amazing thank you so very much for letting me be in your series
the last sraw is a very nicely riten I liked how you used ten sens from tugs
This episode blew me away. Loved the crossover, and great story. You have a gift, my friend.
Also absolutely perfect on how you managed to cross the Thomas Universe & the Tugs Universe together.
When Atlas enters the harbour, am I the only one that notices the trucks with the cranes in the foreground are Kevin's basis?
i didnt really like tugs at first but now i do thank you
Funny enough I old enough to remember Tugs & the older thomas and friends but young enough to enjoy the these episodes (I'm 1988 baby).
You worked TUGS into this series? WICKED CRAZY! Brilliant though. And being American, that's saying something unique.
Now I'm curious about your version of the "Bigg City Fall", if that's what's to be believed
nice touch tieing in tugs into the story line
It's funny Duncan is yellow for over year lol Great episode!
Over 2 years - season 1 was in 2009, this season is in 2011. I'm thinking I'll keep him in his 'Carlin Yellow' for the rest of the series.
I love how it was possible for you to make TUGS Canon
It's fantastic to note how quickly this series has gotten back to full steam, and with such attention to detail in the plot and content. I am very pleased with the season so far, and am very eager to see more episodes next week.
By the way, I liked how you created your own TUGS character when it came to Drollan. I originally thought he would be another MSR engine, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out who it really was. Great work again this week.
Love the tugs cross-over!
Sir Handel/Falcon’s reaction was priceless ☠️
Freaking brilliant moment when the tugs theme played in my ears
This is the best modern years episode I've ever seen.
OH MY GOD, TUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I died when the theme song started.
Surprise! :-)
WildNorWester I don't know those new actors you brought in can you tell me who they are via PM and tell me their channel names
May you rest in peace.
The cast is listed in the credits
+WildNorWester Atlas' return to the show last week was a nice birthday gift to me, because it was uploaded last week.
Great. Wild you predicted the future. Now we have big mickey in the animated series and soon we will have ten cents.
Man I Like Your Tugs Models
Glad to see a new episode is out! Great story! ;)
Great story wildnorwester!
Not too many crossovers exist with Thomas and TUGS; at least, they aren't as common as Thomas fan stories, but you handled this one brilliantly.
On fanfiction.net, I'm writing "Thomas and the Tugs;" another crossover between the two. And after 14 chapters, I just can't help but notice how well the two shows blend together; David Mittion did brilliant work on both series.
Now this took me by surprise, a Thomas & TUGS crossover, now that's awesome, and the episode definitely has good TUGS feel!
Awesome inclusion of TUGS! That was not expected and way out in left field but it put a huge smile on my face and was great! Hopefully we find out what happened to Ten Cents following the Tramway's closure!
I like how Duncan is still in his yellow livery.
He'll be in 'Carlin Yellow' for the rest of the series.
Great!
Drollan: a half-witted person.
It fits the Tug.
Well done that was a pleasant surprise! From last week I kinda knew Atlas would have a few stories about his Tramway.
One question remains: What ever become of Ten Cents?
Wait and see :-).
I love this episode
Glad to see Duncan still had his Yellow paintjob in the beginning of the episode.
that guy that plays ten cents sounds almost exactly like the original
Great story as always. Well done, Wildnorwester.
Oh my god I nearly cried when I heard TUGS I love it! Best episode by far!
I am NOT gonna even lie, I died laughing when you started the tugs bit.
I was never much of a TUGS child back when it came out, but I did love this episode XD
i was laughing when he says hi atlas..... ATLAS
Loved the opening theme and the TUGS crossover! Smashing episode mate!
That was brilliant :) always nice to see another part of the island back in its heyday and loved the use of the tugs as well lovely combination :)
