Loved even little details of her crying slightly upon asking what year it is Only nitpick; it appears I was accidently left out of the credits in the voice cast area, other than that, fantastic work as always
This was a great episode, it was great that Adeline survived from her accident and it was nice to see that she got restored and Poor Adeline getting scared about crossing the old iron bridge. A great use of Thunderbirds music when Adeline was being rescued and great we got a mystery solved about the previous number 7 and it was a surprise that Donald remembered Adeline when they met again. Looking forward to next week's episode.
The characterisation of Duncan and Sir Handel are both spot-on. It’s refreshing to see Sir Handel being so supportive to Adeline instead of the pompous sod he was in a lot of the books. As for Duncan, who happens to be my favourite of the SR engines, the “old man yells at cloud” persona seems to fit him quite well, but the fact he wants closure on the bridge incident and drops everything to help Adeline when she’s found shows there’s more to him than that. As for Adeline, well, you’ve excelled yourself in how you’re handling all the aspects of her. This is turning out to be one of the best fan mini-series out there. it's also helping me to work out problems in a story I've been working on for around 5 years. I agree with others that Percy could be Goose. Engines like Percy were used by the MOD. Also, what if the ghost story was told to try and expose whoever caused Adeline's accident, or by the culprits themselves as a warning to their enemies.
my only criticism, to what is otherwise a fantastic episode. is No locomotive rebuild on such a scale, especially after such a spectacular crash could be completed in two weeks. two years is about average in preservation for a full overhaul. love the series, keep up the good work!
A nice closure to the Old Iron Bridge saga. Nice to see that Adeline is alive and even restored to operational condition (like Lily). Also, I think we're closer to who "Goose" is.
we've reached the half way point, and once again I am in shock and awe!!! the depth in Adeline's character and that ending scene, it makes me wonder for next week's episode what are we going to find next?
@@WildNorWester I certainly hadnt thought she would have had them fitted as Lily at first never had them, but that's likely down to the models at the time. I'd only imagined a rebuilt Adeline but without glasses. However her model with them does look very good indeed.
Wildnorwester. I really got to hand it to you with this one. I've been watching since the beginning and I think this is one of your best miniseries yet. The way you took one spooky story from the Alec Baldwin era and turned it into a story of mystery, munitions and military espionage is nothing short of genius. On a side note, I really want to compliment you on Adeline's rusty model. You have an amazing talent at building models of abandoned or scrapped steam engines. You did a great job with Barry way back when and now you did great with Adeline too! Can't imagine what Lily would have looked like pre-restoration! She's a real gem and I hope she joins the ranks of your already amazing SKR Fleet one day! We chatted briefly on Discord about the original RWS series books a couple months before my son was born. Now little Edward is one and I can say proudly he is an avid fan of your series as much as the RWS Series. He watches both the Early and Modern Years and we run your models in Trainz for hours on end. While I'm sad to hear these tales are almost over, I can't thank you enough for entertaining us all these years. I wish you the best of luck in everything you do and both me and my son will be watching until the end. Best of luck to you my friend. You truely do the Thin Clergyman proud.
Loved we all guess Donald and Douglas were Goose by the off chance. Also loved the thunderbirds theme for the rescue and James Bond last one. Just realised the twins helped Duke and this tale nice work mate.
I also really liked the features of the mainline engines in the background, can’t wait to catch up with them again soon and hear all about what they’ve been up to
*happily watching the episode... gets to **12:15** and hears the music being played* Wait a second, that's the Thunderbirds theme! The 1960s puppet series to be exact if memory serves me right (haven't seen anything since the 2004 movie). :D
I'm appreciating the instrumental version of the song used in Bigg Freeze, the would be lyrics do seem to go along quite nicely with the overall storyline here.
"Last time (Duncan) saw a ghost on the old iron bridge, it had been his imagination, fueled by a tale." Keep telling yourself that, Duncan. It could be possible. My question (okay, I have several questions but the one that statement brings up) is did Duncan ever explain what the "ghost" he saw looked like and if he did, what did it look like? Another thing I just thought of. During the mid-credits scene in Duncan Gets Spooked, when he's crossing the old iron bridge at night, it's raining. It's not unreasonable to assume that the water in the gorge would be high in those conditions. Adeline wouldn't have been able to call out and yet... "Hello?". Just an observation that may or may not add to the mystery. For all I know, the water could have been just low enough to reveal Adeline.
Percy is Goose, isn't he? Ivo Hugh was humming "12 days of Christmas:" Adeline, No. *7,* is Swan, which is from the *seventh* day, goose is day *six.* Now who of the "big ones," as Harris put it, is No. 6?
If you want to get technical, there's three. 6. Percy D6. Evan E6. Jeffery (Not the works diesel) Though seriously, Percy would be the most likely because of timing and accessibility to the Skarloey line.
I think what Adeline would look like in a different colour she would be either a blue or a cyan because all the other all the narrow gauge engines were repeated in the future Skarloey : red Rheneas : orange Sir handle/falcon : blue Peter Sam/ Stewart: green Rusty: orange Duncan: yellow Atlas : Brown Duke: brown Adeline: cyan And ivo hugu: red
Also, Adeline taking a week and a half to be rebuilt? With that kind of damage, it would take months, maybe years, unless the SKR workshops have round-the-clock staffing.
While I was a little bit disappointed by the lack of the supernatural at the start (I quite like ghost stories and the like) this episode more than made up for that. A realistic take was unexpected but very welcome. Good job mate. Ill be sure to keep watching.
i love how you can barely see Adelines face when the chain is lowered down, but the expression of "what the fuck is this" is able to be conveyed still-
I do hope adeline would have the chance to talk to Lily, since they went through a similar experience and help adeline move on with her trauma and hopefully remember her past in a safe way
Good for you, Duncan! Now you can put all this humbug to rest once and for all! Man... This Adeline found under the bridge is a sorry sight. Love the color, though. Wish she'd kept it. XD Looks like she's gone from Timothy to Whiff. ;p Had a feeling all this would come back to our gal by the end of the episode. Hope there's some Danny Elfman music involved next time... Maybe John Williams? ;)
Adeline having PTSD is a given. I have it myself and its one of the most crippling things anyone could suffer from. And the condition is represented brilliantly here.
The way the story was going I probably suspected it but Adeline‘s ghost was appearing on the line or was going to be haunting the bridge just like the tail and Duncan gets spooked but now seeing that she was alive it’s like a miracle
Minor nitpick, where does 1 and a half weeks come from, for Adeline's rebuild? Seems an awfully quick time frame, even 1.5 years would be quite impressive. Otherwise good, enjoyable story, nice way to give a closure to Duncan's ghost. Intriguing choice to give Adeline PTSD & Amnesia, it'll be interesting to see how you develop it in the final part.
This was mine as well - the really quick turnaround on the rebuild stood out to me. I know the narrow gauge engines are smaller, hence less materials, but still, that's super fast.
@@ctskifreaks Also they do say that the workmen at crovan's gate are some of the best, but even with both of these factors I agree it still seems too quick for that.
I'm not going to lie when Adeline was going through her memories it gave me shivers down my spine it must be horrifying, imagine being alive breathing steam engine that is scared to rust away......
U know the events of this has happened in my AU. however Adeline is replaced by proteus And Adeline is one of the engines on the tramway that smudger used to work on
Adeline: Im not really useful am I? Me: No you are very useful You just have been through a really rough trama and need time to work through it! Lean on your friends They will support you and You are slaying it with those glasses girl!!!
SHE LIVES! Amazing reveal right there. Out of curiosity, was the Thunderbirds rescue inspired by Cam Jones’ “An Unlikely Rescuer” short he did? I do like what this story does, gives some Adeline answers but also dives into the traumatic aftermath and asks more questions as to the nature of her accident. It’s ominous and clearly it’s something very elaborate considering how flawlessly clean the scene of the crime was. Giving Duncan the end of his suffering since the spook incident is also a great bit of closure. Also, kudos for working in the Gangnam Style reference you’ve been alluding to.
Loved this episode I thought that if adeline had survived it would have been revealed in the last episode also I'm glad Duncan faced his fears of the old iron bridge and saved adeline but why'd she say she wasn't really useful at the end.
Funny how the British Army used a Chinook helicopter to rescue Adeline from the gorge: An adult friend of mine married a guy who was a Chinook pilot for the US Army. Also, Adeline looks really cute in those cat-eye glasses!
Something i just noticed, Adeline needed glasses after being under that bridge in the water, but Lilly doesn't, even though she was out in the ocean for longer than that, having drowned in the 1920's after her ship sank, and only recovered in the 2000's if i remember correctly. Did Lilly get lucky or were the glasses something you thought only now (during production). Edit: I only now saw the community post where Lily is shown with glasses now.

I like how you can tell it’s 2012 cuz of the music in the works LMAO
my only criticism, to what is otherwise a fantastic episode. is No locomotive rebuild on such a scale, especially after such a spectacular crash could be completed in two weeks. two years is about average in preservation for a full overhaul.
love the series, keep up the good work!
A nice closure to the Old Iron Bridge saga. Nice to see that Adeline is alive and even restored to operational condition (like Lily). Also, I think we're closer to who "Goose" is.
I wouldn't say it's closed off just yet. Adeline still needs to get over it.
we've reached the half way point, and once again I am in shock and awe!!! the depth in Adeline's character and that ending scene, it makes me wonder for next week's episode what are we going to find next?
Certainly didn't expect to see her wearing glasses as it wasn't mentioned in the original script for the episode.
It was added after I sent the scripts out.
@@WildNorWester I certainly hadnt thought she would have had them fitted as Lily at first never had them, but that's likely down to the models at the time. I'd only imagined a rebuilt Adeline but without glasses. However her model with them does look very good indeed.
I loved binge watching you’re videos. Now, i’m caught up!
What a nice birthday present! Thank you Wildnorwester!
15:20 gangnam style… i really really appreciate the amount of effort and detail you put up for this, i tip my hat to you sir.
When I watched your version of Duncan gets spooked I knew the engine Adline was alive.
Well, this story took a turn I wasn't expecting! An incredibly well put together and mature story partner! Looking forward to the next one!
Amazing video
6. Percy
D6. Evan
E6. Jeffery (Not the works diesel)
Though seriously, Percy would be the most likely because of timing and accessibility to the Skarloey line.
Wow this has me laughing with Duncan! She's alive! Wonderful love these videos so much
oh you madman! using the thunderbirds theme for the engine's rescue! XD
I think what Adeline would look like in a different colour she would be either a blue or a cyan because all the other all the narrow gauge engines were repeated in the future
Skarloey : red
Rheneas : orange
Sir handle/falcon : blue
Peter Sam/ Stewart: green
Rusty: orange
Duncan: yellow
Atlas : Brown
Duke: brown
Adeline: cyan
And ivo hugu: red
Wildnorwester you did it again I actually like Adeline’s new shape and the glasses are a nice touch
I will say at first I just thought this little series was gonna be a one off ghost story but I'm loving how it's panning out
12:10 Love the thunderbirds music, very good. 🚀
The mystery of the "Ghost Engine" has been solved, now how it happened is next to be. Also the theme used in the rescue scene was most appropriate.
Got to say I love Adeline’s rebuild model it looks perfect
Also, Adeline taking a week and a half to be rebuilt? With that kind of damage, it would take months, maybe years, unless the SKR workshops have round-the-clock staffing.
"We can rebuild her, we have the technology!"
Glad they found her can't wait to see what happens next episode hope she gets through her trauma of her accident on the bridge
I am relieved that Adeline has been finally rescued and restored to working order again. she now looks great
While I was a little bit disappointed by the lack of the supernatural at the start (I quite like ghost stories and the like) this episode more than made up for that. A realistic take was unexpected but very welcome. Good job mate. Ill be sure to keep watching.
Dang, that end line was sad. Amazing episode!
i love how you can barely see Adelines face when the chain is lowered down, but the expression of "what the fuck is this" is able to be conveyed still-
That six million dollar man reference went right over the Thin Controller's head, lol
When the thunderbird theme kicks in..Amazing!
I do hope adeline would have the chance to talk to Lily, since they went through a similar experience and help adeline move on with her trauma and hopefully remember her past in a safe way
Just caught up on this entire saga today! My goodness this is good stuff
This was a deep story….. I definitely look forward to the rest
Good for you, Duncan! Now you can put all this humbug to rest once and for all!
Man... This Adeline found under the bridge is a sorry sight. Love the color, though. Wish she'd kept it. XD
Looks like she's gone from Timothy to Whiff. ;p
Had a feeling all this would come back to our gal by the end of the episode. Hope there's some Danny Elfman music involved next time... Maybe John Williams? ;)
Loving this mini series so far cant wait for the next part aways excellent work 🤘✊🍺🍻
keep up the great work
Adeline having PTSD is a given.
Poor dear’s got PTSD. That’s definitely something that many can relate with.
I love the use of the Thunderbirds theme!
Almost read the comments before finishing the video, but good thing I stopped. Amazing story! Great to see Adeline has been found and restored!
I never thought I hear that GANDAM STYLE is canon to STMY
That song should be banned from Sodor or all over. I HATE IT!!!😤😡😠😤
I'm not going to lie when Adeline was going through her memories it gave me shivers down my spine it must be horrifying, imagine being alive breathing steam engine that is scared to rust away......
Loved the thunderbird style rescue at 11:54
Finally, Adeline is alive. Thank God.
U know the events of this has happened in my AU. however Adeline is replaced by proteus
And Adeline is one of the engines on the tramway that smudger used to work on
Adeline: Im not really useful am I?
Me: No you are very useful You just have been through a really rough trama and need time to work through it! Lean on your friends They will support you and You are slaying it with those glasses girl!!!
I loved the use of the thunderbirds theme during the rescue.
Same here mate. 👍
If Lilly survived being at the bottom of the sea for 50-70 years, Adeline could survive at the bottom of a Stream for less then half that
With Atlas behind her, Adeline looks like a tender engine. Not a bad shape at all, she looks pretty good with it since her cab is very tall.
ADELINE SURVIVED THE WHOLE TIME, HOW? 🤯🤯! Holy sh*t!
Bust my boiler, poor Aldine, I hope she will be able to recover more of her memories.
Poggers this is amazing
Adeline and Duke have a bit in common
Yippee love your series. 🚂
I saw this drop and came as quick as possible
Something i just noticed, Adeline needed glasses after being under that bridge in the water, but Lilly doesn't, even though she was out in the ocean for longer than that, having drowned in the 1920's after her ship sank, and only recovered in the 2000's if i remember correctly. Did Lilly get lucky or were the glasses something you thought only now (during production).
Edit: I only now saw the community post where Lily is shown with glasses now.
Perhaps Lily does need glasses, but hasn't realised yet.
