I have to say I'm liking how Norman Spencer has been handled as his relations with the engines begin to improve. All too often there are drivers that don't care till they're caught in the act or become a victim of their own stupidity that is which is a very believable scenario. With the amount of character development throughout your series. I almost feel like I'd have to re-watch everything as so much has happened over the years. I eagerly anticipate the next instalment!
I've got to say, this episode is my favourite of the mini series, and a contender for best episode of the entire series, the way Norman is written does make it look at first that he hasn't changed, but as you learn more you start to see differently, much like the engines
But also what I love about this episode was Thomas' reaction, it was a really nice bit of continuity with his accident, and really does show that these are engines shaped by the experiences we witness them go through as we watch these episodes, it makes it feel more like a lived in universe rather than just isolated stories that have no effect on each other
You can't help but feel for Thomas...when I heard level Crossing again it shook me...good work
I'm Thomas sensitive, so I get it.
Glad to see Mr. Spenser finally understands the engine's feelings. A bit blunt still, but learning and moving in the right direction.
Mr spencer is a good man plus can’t wait to see more of the engine that Percy and spencer talked about
That engine is a one-off character, although one of her sisters will be appearing later.
WildNorWester awesome bro I enjoy your work a lot you were apart of my childhood
@@WildNorWester one of her sister's? (Realization hitting my head) IS ADELINE THE PHANTOM ENGINE THE SISTER OF ABEGALE?
Edit: I mean the mini series that was supposed to come out last year
You know what, I love Norman Spencer’s change of view, it’s heartwarming, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Wow! I wouldn't have guessed Mr. Spencer started work on restoring a steam engine. Sounds like he's a far cry away from his grandfather now. And I love the montage of engines with the package express. Ooh, and we see Toad with a shocked expression at the end. That'll be intreasting to see. Zack, if see this, good luck with voicing him next episode.
TobyandMavisforever why tf I had to see this at the beginning?
The montage was lovely. It was also nice to see Norman's change of heart towards steam engines. And Abigail was beautiful! I honestly can't wait to see how the next episode will turn out. I have a few suspicions as to what'll happen but I don't wanna say the wrong thing.
I have my guesses as well.
“And we’re back ladies and gentlemen, sorry it took so long for the new season!”
Me: Oh heck yeah! All aboard the hype train cuz Wildnor Wester is back!
Excellent. I do love the fact that, whilst retaining his stern-ness, Spencer has does seem to have turned over a new leaf so to speak.
I see Tinkerbell's model has come along for a brief appearance. Very good episode.
Your storytelling is so wonderful. This series has come such a long way since '09, and it's only getting better! It's good to have you back again :)
Is that 1909 or 2009?
@@ivangenov6782 2009
@@SJTrains2024 thanks
Well done again Dan! From the change of heart of Norman Spencer to Thomas having another accident (almost) and ending the episode on a cliffhanger at the Little Western, this is pure perfection if I’ve ever seen it! I’m truly impressed mate!
Ooooh I like the addition of Lily's new theme in this! I've been hearing variations on Soundcloud for a while and it's a pleasure to finally have it in the series
Also...Abigail!!! Very clever!
Finally, Norman. I'm so glad to see his growth as a character!
A 25 minute STMY video? CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY!
Its actually 20 minutes
It feels like Christmas whenever WildNorWestern uploads...🤗
@@kallumproductions3498 Well, oof
Gotta admit, love a good redemption arc. Also love your series wild nor wester keep it up, no matter how long between episodes I always fine it worth the wait
Wonderful episode.
Your stories are compelling and hold the attention of the audience. They have the same qualities as the original railway series. It's not about the engines competing for a "special special" it's about working together toward a common goal and learning together. Lessons learned by your characters are permanent, and last long after the next episode. Thank you for the hard work you put into these stories to make them interesting and enjoyable.
I’m lovin’ it. Totally sponsored by McDonald’s
L O L
lol???????
By far my favorite epsiode of STMY. Well done Dan.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd actually take a liking to Norman Spencer. What a relief he gave that courier the sack for his reckless behavior.
We're halfway through. Nice to see Norman Spencer redeemed himself. Looking forward to the second half.
I felt warm after watching this. Good work dude
This was a really great episode and Norman has fully changed and realized about the employees I am glad there was abigail, a clip for tinkerbell miniseries
A very nice episode, I'm glad that Norman has changed for the better, can't wait for next week's episode
You know it's a good day when Wild nor'wester uploads a new video
Yeah, I said it before and I’ll say it again: being a fan of Victor Tanzig, it’s very weird to see Lily alive and well. I know that’s a separated, unrelated series and Lily is Dan’s creation, not Victor’s, but I’ll admit it’s still a little strange.
I find the opposite, very weird to see her not.
Can't wait to see the next episode
I love this series. Its so well written, and the last two minutes are just pure beauty and nostalgia. Great episode.
I love percys character in this series. Much wiser and less chidish and cheeky. I know he's older in modern years but its a nice change from other series
18:40 nice touch with the night train instrumental.
What an excellent episode! A great turnaround of a character.
Good thing Norman spencer has changed his ways and his attitude
Another masterpiece.
I'm half expecting the next episode to come out on Christmas, seeing the theme.
Great story. I love it
A well thoroughly interesting episode from beginning to end :) I like the sense of community between controller and engines: both have a huge part in keeping railway operations a success, and as this episode showed: it can only thrive when there's a useful staff and reliable manager to keep things going.
Norman Spencer's change of attitude was an interesting touch; I had assumed he was playing under a ruse to stay in Emily's good graces when his story from abroad came about :)
Thomas: Even Sheffield is more politer than him.
Elsewhere,
Sheffield: Is someone talking about me?
OH MY GOD, WE GET TO SEE MR JOJ'S BABY IN A WNW VIDEO EEEEEEE
Now that that's out of the way, this episode was just so beautiful. Great to see how railways have impacted Norman Spencer as a person and I must say the way the cinematography blended with the soundtrack so well here is just amazing. Taken some inspiration from Tines in cinematic presentation I see? (That shot with Gordon taking the North-West Package Express vans was glorious.)
I seriously can't wait for the next episode.
That scene with the bridge near the quarry portrays how risky car drivers are in my home state.
Scratch that. This entire episode!
Its like there in a world of hot wheels at some point
If these were books, they would top the RWS by far. Excellent job!
Smashing video Dan! Keep up the good work mate!
Well done WNW. Nice to see a character arc in Norman Spencer.
Poor Thomas.. He's got PTSD about his accident at the crossing :( Poor Engine
I know right?
What does PTSD mean
Great work mate. Very worth waking up at dawn for ☺👍
This was a great episode Dan. Can't wait to see the next one.
8:25 Wait..What? Did Thomas develop PTSD? WildNorWester I love what you guys are doing with this show and it's characters. Keep it up!
That's what I meant to imply, yes.
@@WildNorWester Does Thomas have PTSD of road vehicle near misses since his car accident and George plowing into Mavis?
wow what an episode. keep it up dan.
This episode was really good I can’t wait for the next one keep it up mr wildnorwester i am a huge fan of your videos and I have been watching them since the sodor the early years series
Man I love how Sodor is portrayed in the 21st Century in Modern Years. It's infinitely better than the aus where the railway goes to crap just after the RWS. Also engines like Lily and Ivo Hugh are my favourite interpretations of the characters. Simply amazing. Well done.
I spot a rare appearance from a Culdee Fell mountain engine in the video
9:33 I would have gone full Gordon Ramsay.
I would have been so angry that he would be scared to come to work.
Let alone run an entire business.
I would've gone Malcolm Tucker myself, but to each their own.
THIS SOUP IS DRY!
I love the Engine named Abigail, I don’t care if she is private or not but I just love her face and the story behind her
To quote Hawk Moth from Miraculous Ladybug, “The show is not over yet, Ladybug. There is still a final act to come when you least expect it”.
I think we can all agree that WildNorWester needs to be promoted to head writer of Thomas & Friends!
Douglas 57647 If only if only
I can’t wait for another by next week on the mouth of Christmas 🎄
Norman Spencer haven't read the Railway Series? Well, that's a first (even though it was also heard in Winds of Change, too!).
Hasn't he? He did refer to the events of 'Time for Trouble'.
Well, yes. I didn't know about it when Emily pointed that out to Toby until now. Sorry about that, I guess when it comes to a new fan-episode, things can be unexpected.
Well done Mavis! Ooo blithering buffoon! Indeed and that fitted description of Norman Spencer!
16:41 What a beautiful engine
Great writing. What Thomas should be. Great work!
A Great Redemption Story thus far.
Classic closing line
RailPony it's useful 🙂.
3:20, I like how Toby gets distracted by a road van that’s parked too close to the rails. 🙂
Ending conclusion is very well done 👍. I also enjoy the music it adds the mood for next episode😈.
I love it! Absolutely wonderful, and Abigail's story and model were perfect. I don't know how you made her look so pristine to only have her onscreen for a few seconds. Still, great.
Excellent as always, glad to see a good story.
Oh boy the plot thickens...
Again, amazingly brilliant!!
uploaded on my birthday ;)
16:30 Tinkerbell!!!!😄
HenryPercy fan36 I imagine it’s a sister since he said “Abigail “
This is so great! You should work for the show!!!
I love this series! This episode is amazing
How much you wanna bet the driver who got fired would end up coming back for revenge?
A lot
James Riddle I was thinking the same thing.
I also saw it in the intro scene.
Nicely done! :D
I think I like Mr. Spencer a bit more, now.
Well, Miss Hatt, maybe the news would've been broken gently if you just _let the engines know the second you called Norman Spencer back to Sodor._ Not very good with timing, are you? XD
"I hope you won't run out of water on the way up. James won't be around to help this time."
Ooh... Touched a nerve, didn't it? But at least he read the Railways Series.
Wait a minute. How could Lily and Toby have heard all the way from Ffarquhar Station to the yard platform? They were too far away. And Mr. Spencer would've had to shout to reach a good distance.
"Asking with all the tact of a freight car. Even _Sheffield_ was more polite than that." LOL
The word "cavalier" may be putting it mildly. ;)
Wonder what'll happen this Christmas... Should be good.
I've assumed engines have hearing that's a bit more sensitive than humans. They are bigger than us, after all, and would need to be able to maintain a bit of situational awareness.
Also, Emily Hatt is only human, after all.
@@WildNorWester Well, until we can get confirmation on how non-faceless engine anatomy works, there's only so much to speculate on.
@@WildNorWester I'm well aware of that. And she's also only young, which would explain why the engines weren't kept up to date like in the good old days.
I think we shouldn't nag WildNorWester as he could be cooking something good
12:48 is the best scene with Percy and how much he’s grown.
Toby Mentions Time For Trouble
Nicholas Blaschke the original story is “Double header “
This is getting better and better. :D
Let's. GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
20 MINUTES!!!
Yes!
7:13 LOOK OUT!
That was fast!
fantastic as always
If not for the character arc, I would think that Norman Spencer somehow paid homage to Sharon Miller.
I'm surprised the pacer is able to move
Oh wait I get it the man that’s unloading the mail would be moving from the back of the truck so he would get on the tracks
Yep. Toby's a careful engine.
Grand work as always dear sir
Very well done. I like how you properly developed Norman Spencer and I remember your tweet about people claiming he was the antagonist. Clearly you proved those people wrong. Now I'm curious as to how parts three and four stack up.
Side note: I liked the use of Tinkerbell, or Abigail I should say, as a small cameo, and the small statue of Henry in the forest. That was pretty cool. Also, was that shot of Gordon in the credits a leftover of the monologue shots?
That shot of Gordon in the credits was leftover, yes. I left it in as a bit of an easter egg. Originally, Henry and Gordon were swapped in the montage.
@@WildNorWester Ah, I see. Pretty neat
16:32 WOW!!! What a unique engine!!!
Next episode in? Couple weeks?! I know, these are hard to make, but boy do they occupy you for that amount of time! Great work matey! Loved it!
Dylan Monbrod Productions I make them in advance and upload them weekly.
19:09, ladies and gentlemen, for the first time, we have see a cfr engine in STMY

@@WildNorWester oh, well I guess in STMY
you actually sounded like the narrators from episodes past.
from the trailer you can infer a package gets stolen, so will the fired driver come back and have on the NWPE
alementary my dear watson
Wildnorwester it is Mattel as well
I’m liking this mini series. Can’t wait for the rest!
Ok at this rate I'm just going to say that all these engine have a radio in there cab that plays there theme song
19:31 I spy Ten Cents!!!!!! A deep episode with a lot of plot twists and reference!!!!!! I like the introduction of a new tank engine, ( what do you call something from Denmark exactly?) I think Norman Spencer really has changed for the good and he can unite Sodor with his new package express.
Something from Denmark is called Danish. As for Ten Cents, have you seen my episode 'Last Straw'?
@@WildNorWester I have. I remember the Friday in my Freshman year when I watched it. Thanks to you and that episode, you have made me a big TUGS fan. Much so, that I'm putting together a good number of custom TUGS stories I plan to post on Deviant Art in the future.
Percy got him told
Great Episode! thoroughly enjoyed this, especially the ending sequence with Gordon pulling out from the docks at the start which was brilliant. i am left with a few questions though.)
Firstly, are those SR parcel vans your using? or are they of a fictitious design?
Also, are Royal-Mail parcel vans also being used for the NWPE services? or were additional vans bought in to supplement the original six?
lastly, can we expect stories regarding the culdee-fell engines at some point? (at least I think it was one going over the electrified line)
sorry for writing so much, but I wouldn't care enough to if this wasn't a brilliantly made episode
They're LMS package vans, and I made the models myself. The NWR/NWPE would have built additional vans as needed. And yes, I will be bringing the CFR into Season 3, although they appeared briefly in Season 3 of the Early Years as well.
I see that makes sense, wouldn't have expected you to need to reuse other vans with your skill at making th models.
At this point with the expansion in demand for rail traffic, I'd imagine half the rolling stock they use are new builds. Then again diving too hard in to the realism of such an operation will probably not end well, so I'll leave it there. Thanks for replying by the way, Appreciate it.
Oh dear! That was horrible for Thomas! Very careless indeed!
