- Hello Skaters! Welcome back! Today I am teaching you how to do a really lovely 1/2 rotation jump called a 'Falling Leaf Jump' or a 'Split Falling Leaf'. One of the things I love about this jump is that it can be done at so many different levels, and is a good challenge both for beginners and for advanced skaters, depending on how much of a split you are aiming for in the air.
Here are a few other 1/2 rotation jumps you might like to try...

the best falling leaf is of Aliona Kostornaia, and she does that immediately after the triple axel
Such an amazing progression from the split to the triple!

Hey, you can at least start trying it at the wall! 😁

Thanks for the idea!

Go for it!
Is there a different name for this jump if it takes off of an inside edge?
That is a great question, I haven't heard of a different name for it.
Help and support our Coach, by letting all of the ads roll out fully, please!
Awe, you are so kind!
I can already do it
Yay! Good for you!
Not just a Leaf, but a 'Maple Leaf' doing that elegant jump every nhl season
Oh my gosh, love that. Falling maple leaf. I am going to remember that.
@@CoachJulia you' d watch it too -- they're doing that every season, this one ain't going be any different. The whole team do that element together, much like in synchronised skating . And straight after that they all delve into the golf field.
