One other reason of Chinese non interference in 1971 was because of Indo Soviet Friendship Pact of 1971. USSR was behind India during this war, which kept China & US in check. And USSR was one of the earliest major power to recognize Bangladesh as an independent country after the war.

I'm not a defense expert but China's non-interference in the 1971 war, was also due to the fact that in Dec, the mountains are covered with snow. This was a major reason why Field Marshall Manekshaw argued with the then PM of India that Pak cannot be attacked in summer (yes, readiness of the force was also a reason but the advantage of winter snow was the chief reason). Rather US had asked China to attack India during the 71 war.

AND as far as I have studied, it was a political surrender to Military surrender. So why you wrote it as Military surrender?
1962 defeat was because of the only presence of Reserved forces in the border. It could be different story if Indian Army was present there.

This was a major reason why Field Marshall Manekshaw argued with the then PM of India that Pak cannot be attacked in summer (yes, readiness of the force was also a reason but the advantage of winter snow was the chief reason). Rather US had asked China to attack India during the 71 war.
