Great mod!
Perfect timing. About to do mine and awesome tips
Fun stuff coming!
Good video....memories!
What valving did u go with? Whatever came with it from King?
Yeah just however they came from King.
Did u change your diff oil due to the heat of the welding ?
@@Yotapuga Yep we did that after everything was done.
Putting Kings on my 2019 very soon
Excellent! Front/rear or both?
Wow oh wow, that was great. Loved the use of safety equipment too.
Safety isn’t something to be taken lightly, that’s for darn sure.
Quality time, buddies helping each other out, working on trucks! Thanks for the content!
What size shock were you able to put on this? 2.0 or 2.5? Does it support both sizes?
These are 2.0. I'm not sure if the tops of these relocation brackets would work with 2.5s.
Back in the day (like in the late 90s). They used to have this channel called "the surgery channel". I watched a hip replacement on this channel... This video made me cringe as much as watching that surgery 😂. After watching the flex video I'm glad the Tacoma made a full recovery!! Thanks for having the stomach to film this! @4SightTribe
Great Video!! As much as this "isn't a tutorial", it's a great reference. And to give credit where it's due, nice job Randy!
Randy is da man. 😀
What leaf pack are you using?
I'm running the older style Old Man Emu Dakars.
What leafs you using? Deavers u402?
I'm running the older style OME Dakars
@@Tacomaholic nice.. I have those on my 86.. I'm planning on doing either deavers u402 or sua f67..can you measure your shock lenght as it sit? I'm curious cus I calculated mines and I have about 29" once I build my shock hoop. I'm trying to see if I can squeeze a 2.0 14" bypass
Im about to do a shackle flip kit on the rear and Im glad you uploaded this video because I really really am dreading taking off those 8 rivets! These were some really good advices.... annnnnd I dont have a air hammer...
Thanks for watching! Which shackle flip are you going with?
Welcome to the club. Just my opinion I think you should ha a gotten click adjusters. Yah it adds more to the price but I got them on my rear shocks and now wish I woulda got them on the front too.
Truck looks awesome, great modification.................next up 35's!!
Thanks Scott! Yep I'm ready to get started on the 35 process.
awesome!!
Nice job!, how much does something like this cost?
Hard to say but a fab shop would probably charge at least 5 hours of labor.
Which struts were taken off? looking for a bit of an upgrade over the 5100s I have now, wondering if the ones taken off the truck would fit the bill.
My old shocks were the Bilstein B110 which are the extended travel Bilstein 5100s. Had them for about 3 years and they were great.
I thought must run a crossmember or cross brace across from hanger to hanger to “stiffen up” or reinforce the rear frame. Why did you choose to not do this?
That’ll get done at a later date. I’ll build him a crossbar. We just didn’t have time to do it this day.
What Randall said below. But even with the Archive Garage version the crossbar is just an option but not absolutely necessary.
Tacomaholic yeah, given are frame issues I’m going to do a bit of boxing n the cross brace. Somewhere I booked a TW guy who makes the ends n u just need to but the bar n weld it up.
Do you think this same shock relocation will work on a 1st gen?
The process should be the same you would just have to measure to make sure the compressed/extended lengths of the shock would fit in that location.
Do you have to relocate your shocks to run those kings???
Yeah otherwise you risk bottoming out the shock and damaging it.
Looks good Brian can’t wait to see those off-road videos♿️
Why did you choose to use the BAMF instead of the Archive Garage?
I was able to get in on a great group buy for all of those parts (Kings included) through BAMF. Hard to say no to the deal I got.
Did you cycle your leafs at all before tacking in the shock mounts on the axle?
As in breaking down the leaf pack or raising the axle to full bump?
No but we used the compressed/extended measurements of the new shocks and compared with the compressed measurement of my bump stops to determined where exactly to mount the lower shock mounts.
what size is the brake line spacer and bolt?
The spacer is 1" long, 3/4" OD for a 3/8" bolt. The bolt is M8x1.25 40mm. I got both of mine on McMaster-Carr.
How do you like 12” in the rear?
Sorry I guess the roast video is done, great install.
Lol that was a good one.
@@matthewmacphee8586 underrated comment XD
I think I need a way to get an Amazon affiliation, or sell some decals and tee shirts, to afford some taco upgrades. Looking awesome! Hope you have a great weekend out Wheeling.
What extended rear brake lines did you use?
+4 from Headstrong Offroad
I hope you paid him well lol
Of course!
I'll drive to Virginia and he can do mine.

I'm proud to have #randyfab love on the Tacoma. 😀
