Dude, these vehicles are getting so old now, its hard to have a title. I have an 01 and no title, not because its stolen, but because throughout the 23 years its existed and all the hands its went through, the title was lost. Its used on the dirt so I dont really care to go through the process of getting the title, just as a dude who stole a quad isnt planning on trying to be legal on the road... in fact, he wants to do the complete opposite lol.
However, Vee should do a diagnostic on the bike, write up an invoice, and have the customer sign that invoice with an ID on file.

Let the police take it. That bike is 100 % stolen. You can be hemmed up for possession of stolen property and if you already have a record then don't even play around with it!! Install pre set carburetor, add a fuel line, and oil and a battery.. properly gapped spark plugs..

I have looked at the truck that this guy dropped the bike off on and also the black truck used when they tried breaking into your shop. The lights are the same, it’s a crew cab. The silver on the tailgate you can’t see at night and on the cctv because it’s dark. They removed the bed cover so they could load up the bike. I work on trucks I am very confident it’s the same truck model. Look at the rear lights pattern, look at the drivers height it’s similar to the guy who tried suing you. Also he wanted his bike that was in your shop, he knew you was in jail. Someone said it’s a different truck, it’s not.
