Gerrard is a definition of loyalty he had the chance to play for madrid inter and chelsea hes one if the best captains in premier league history and without a doubt one of the best midfielders in epl history
Perhaps, but he would've looked better had he retired instead of moving to the LA Galaxy for an obvious cash grab.

@@darthhideous9084 he only left cuz Rodgers didn't want him at the club and he wasn't okay after the slip, needed a break but knew he still had the legs for a few seasons. Could've gone to any club , even Madrid/PSG were looking for him after he decided to leave but he took the best option so he could stay away from facing Liverpool. Nothing but respect

Absolutely brilliant, Stevie, Carra... absolute legends, just a shame the final 2 years late we didn't stuff them again when we actually were the better team, anyway great memories and paved the way for this current generation of winners, I will never forget Istanbul, thanks Stevie and Carra we will never forget you guys, even the likes of Traore and Smicer were vital in this game, we all look forward to a bright future.

Don't forget that this was an insane AC Milan team against a Liverpool side with Djimi Traore at the back. They had Shevchenko, Crespo, Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Cafu, Maldini, Nesta. I think they even had Ruud Gullit and Ronaldinho in 2005. I could be wrong though.

Saw some of the interviews with the Milan players a couple of years after the game and they said they had thought it was over at half time, but no matter what they did they just felt the game slipping away from them in the space of ten minutes.
First time I’ve seen this and for GERRARD to say just looking at the fans they’ve saved for weeks on weeks is what it’s like to be a scouser playing for Liverpool cuz they know majority of scouse Liverpool fans are struggling even to afford the ticket and Gerrard to recognise that is amazing greatness

I was there that night in istanbul in the stands, it was such a cold breezy night for that May night, I remember feeling so down after first half. it was one of the most one sided first halves if not the most, at a champions league final, who knew I would be witnessing a historical night!

Yes same. I was only 13 at the time, but I kept my emotions in check, but sort of resigned to the fact we would lose like many others would've thought too, but was hoping we wouldn't be humiliated. Still don't know how we won it to this day. Unbelievable feeling.

Rafa made a huge tactical mistake by not picking Didi Hamann from the start. He turned that game around when he came on in the 2nd half . When Harry Kewel was picked it was a shock as he was injured all season. When he got injured I was screaming for hamann to come on, kaka , pirlo , seedorf we’re dominating the midfield . The rest is history, what a memorable night .
