I am so pleased that you had a ride on the train and what a lovely little town. I can see many people visiting. Sandra you made me laugh when you said a woman went down and a family came back Romans made Roads and Baths and Drains. If you ever go to Pompei they had everything same as we have today .Normans liked conquering bit like you Neil though if you tried to push a Norman woman into a river she would certainly have disarmed you and be a very wet man indeed. my father had a bit of pampas grass In corner of his back garden and he used to give cuttings to people.I never liked it and when the wind blew it would be full of midges that flew everywhere biting people.I would not want one of them in my garden..What does pampas grass symbolise or are we back to Pompe.Maybe the Romans used the pampas as fans in hot weather though not perhaps the brightest idea they had re midges and possibly why we don't see much of it .

You both made a good choice using the Cliff Railway. The steps to walk back up are a killer!

    swingers
Make sure your garden is in order
Once a common plant outside suburban houses, pampas grass became known as a sign that the residents were swingers. The plant, native to South America, serves as a signal to passers-by.31 May 2017
