I last saw thyem in 2015, and Philip's voice was absolutely on point____indeed I dare say he sounded better than he sounded in the 70's. He positively SOARED. I think that Philip is a 'technician artist' in that he progresses chords on the fly to get what he wants out of a performance. Further, I notice in the shows since he took over total lead, he usually warms up his voice by singing a lot of the lower register stuff (September for instance) first. Lastly, in case you're right I would say this: Philip is essentially 70 yrs old. The high registers and the low low registers go first. I don't think singing a lot of songs have anything to do with it.
