Oh this brings back memories! I grew up in the States and my Mom made Sloppy Joes every now and then and we really liked them. She would start with browning ground beef. Then she would mix that with either a packet of McCormick's Sloppy Joe spice mix mixed with a can of tomato sauce (which seems similar to passata), or a can of 'Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce'. Sloppy Joes were also one of the weekly offerings I had in the school cafeteria and they were very popular with the kids! None of these were ever served with cheese, though. Of course your vegetarian version looks much healthier! I haven't had a Sloppy Joe since school days, so will give yours a try!
Hey Sandra! Even though the thought of them entirely freaked me out, I now totally get the point of them! So so tasty! 😆 Please let me know if you enjoy these ones, and how they rate with those of your childhood 😊
Tasty looking meal there, Janie! Like Damon, I would have loved to have tried this at Dursley, but the alternative we had was gorgeous :) Really enjoyed meeting you at the weekend & hope you had a great time. Looking forward to the next time :)
For the record, I would have LOVED that at Ashen Plains lol. I know what it is now, and its all good ! :). Yes Jonny is spot on, upside down toaster lol, looked like it worked anyway though ! We loved your company at the weekend, tell Jonny he should come next time ! Hope to meet him in Cornwall regardless :). Excellent video Jane, as usual :).
What a cracking vid . :) I have got behind in watching. Lol I haven't got much better and I'm rubbish to . Lol sorry didn't get chance to meet up. Hopefully on the next one. :)
Hey buddy! So sad to have missed you too, it really was a great weekend (and we didn't have to sing at all in the end!) 😂 Definitely at the next one, and I'll try to remember all the damn ingredients for that one #facepalm
Love sloppy joes on a pizza. I use pitta bread add the mixture, top with cheese and 8 mins in the oven....sooo good. Cant wait to try the veggie version
Lots of love from Suffolk. Love your van. I love to live like that, but I don't drive. Horse and carriage maybe ;) lol. I'm goin Quorn in this pandemic, trying to stay healthy
Great delivery and content, but you may want to consider a microphone closer to you as you sound very distant and the rain didn't help. I only saw your channel whilst watching Rick's channel about your weekend at Ashen Plains yesterday and have already watched quite a few of your videos. I'm about to start van life myself after Xmas, and find your 'one pot' meals look very easy and practical with tasty looking results. Thank you and keep it up. :-)
Hey Paul, that's awesome, welcome to the van community :) Yeah, apologies for the crappy sound. I do have a rode lav mic but it causes so much extra work that I only use it if I'm shooting outside (and even then I mostly like to 'forget'). Neither my camera or gopro have audio input so it means recording it onto my phone and, just urgh. Maybe it's time to go new camera shopping... 😍
I am enjoying this amazing phenomenal educational food channel and I use beef tomatoes in my spaghetti Bolognese and she a super Queen of food 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸
Rick got his video out first :) I would like to see you go into a supermarket and choose a few ready made lunch salad bowls (sandwich section) and look at the price and see if you can make it at home for 1/2 the price you would buy it for in the supermarkets.
I’m with you sloppy joes are sloppy and hard to eat and messy. I like the look of your vegetarian version it was not as sloppy and the Yankie version, which usually comes from a tin. I don’t eat them very often and of course when I do I eat them with a knife and fork one half at a time. Must be the Brit in me. 😂

Yeah.. I’ve never eaten a sloppy joe either.. I might try it in a pitta.. seems like it would be less messy 😁
