Crazy Ivan was a maneuver used by Soviet submarines to clear their baffles in order to see if they were being followed. The sudden, unexpected nature of the maneuver led to the term being used in the English-speaking world.[1] The term Crazy Ivan has sometimes separately been used to describe the possibility of a rogue Soviet leader committing to military action, typically in reference to a limited launch of ICBMs against the US, originating from the Tom Clancy novel The Hunt for Red October.[2] from Wikipedia How in hell do you do that in a tank ?????
Not all players use chat to berate their useless teammates - Most, but not all! At WOT Arty Noobs, we've been explaining to our members for almost 2 years that the Arty can communicate with the rest of the team by using their T-Key to indicate what they are targeting, placing a message in chat as they do automatically and also the reload times with the F8 (or C) key to say when the next shell is loaded. We also happen to respond to requests for fire support from tanks that are in need of assistance, as they are frequently aware of the urgency of the situation. So the cross-hairs above the enemy tank are replaced by down arrows that they are being attacked. I've lost count of the number of times that tanks thank their Arty for beating back their opponents and turning a losing battle into a winnable one. Moreover, as I frequently play light tanks, I know my responsibility to seek out and find the enemy, even if they are solidly camped at the back of their map with plenty of cover. In many battles, I grab my man pants, pull them up and switch from passive scout to active and go find the suckers. Can be fun for my own Arty when a scout instead of attacking the enemy Arty and getting shotgunned, that I punch the T-key and let them claim the counter battery. What you saw in the Crazy Ivan replay is that there are players out there that are willing to communicate with the others about their intentions so they can coordinate. I happen to believe that when chat is used for its proper purpose, that you can win even when the odds are against you. As this video showed. Wish that people would have more confidence in their own Arty than treating them with contempt. We are all members of the team and as Wargaming has made us 'support', we function much better when the rest of the team gives us targets and acts on our messages of when the next shell will be ready to pummel their opponents.
you know when the even 90 backed up the IS2, is it just me or did anyone else think of the moment from girls und panzer where the 38t shows up to try and help the panzer 4? Only in this case the gunner could actually hit the broad side of a barn at point blank range.
"Team work and communication...is in fact completely free of charge and available to everybody." Yeah, RIGHT! Maybe once a year, twice on your birthday.
Don't let this distract you that Ray Finkle was a soccer style kicker graduated from Collier High June 1976, Stetson University honors graduate class of 1980, holds 2 NCAA Division One records, one for most points in a season, one for distance, former nickname "The Mule," the first and only pro-athlete ever to come out of Collier County and one hell of a model American.
I do that! especially at the begining, to reveal the direction of my interest. Usually most heavy and mts follow to support and push. Also, we mostly win, if we talk. ;)
Because they were using the chat efficiently this wasn't a Crazy Ivan moment at all, it was an Extraordinarily executed long planned Wehrmacht offensive.
Im not a Fritz. And the Soviet union suffered about 5 million casualties in the Blitzkrieg phase, they managed to setup a defence with the cover of Winter, recalling the far-eastern division to hold and mobilizing their reserves with Lend-lease weapons from the allies. They were very close to losing there and then. As Zhukov himself said, without the allied lend-lease the Soviets would have been done. And after that they got a somewhat of a hold on things and Germany was left fighting over 30 countries including all the world powers basically alone. Of course they were going to lose but no country alone could have done it, not even close.
Lend Lease didn't start arriving in significant quantities until late 1943, and even then the Russians stuck to just keeping the American trucks, jeeps and the P-39/63 for ground attack. Even if the German army had managed to take Moscow, which was already stalled before "muh general Winter" because all the roads were clogged with mud, then what? You have a devastated Moscow stripped of anything valuable while the Soviet army remains intact, that is not a victory anymore then Napoleon taking Moscow. 5 Million casualties in "The Blitzkrieg Phase" aka June-December 1941 counts not only the 2.5 Million POW's but also people who became sick and those who died from sickness during the campaign, which of course majorly inflates the numbers. Meanwhile, the Axis suffers over a million wounded or KIA whom they can not replace. And if your not German, why are you LARP'ing as one with a German name hm? Me thinks you've got some bias thats impacting your ability to think critically on this event.
That is just a lie. The lend lease arrived when the need was greatest. Most of Soviet industry was now behind German lines and they were moving it to the Urals to safety, they needed those resources and weapons from allies they couldnt produce themself. You claim to know better than Zhukov? The leading general of the Red army? And mud or snow, doesnt matter. It was the nature that saved the Soviets. They lost most of their vital lands and would have lost the rest without nature bringing a horrible year to save them. If Moscow had fallen Stalin would have died in there and that would have crushed any remainder of Soviet morale. Leningrad would swiftly follow and then it would be the entire German might against an scrambled and ill equipped Soviet army with no morale defending the Caucasus and Stalingrad. Wouldn't have taken long to swipe them down. Also the term "Casualty" is a combination of dead and captured, you dont need to separate them, I already did. Doesnt matter if the soldier is dead or captured, he wont be doing shit against the invading force anymore. And Axis couldnt replace 1 million? Bwahhaa. The German population at the time was well beyond 70 million and the Soviet was around 130. 1 million was easily replacable, it was just that Germany was fighting a 2 front war against all the world powers, their allies and puppets, after 6 years of course they ran out of manpower but the situation would have never gone so far if Moscow was taken in Winter 1941. Are you actually trying to deny the statement that no one could have won Germany alone? If so I highly suggest you start reading to something else than National Geographics history channel or whatever name that shitshow runs as.

When I use to play heavies a lot, (not so much anymore. Now I prefer scouting) when I found myself at the bottom tier, I would usually focus on immobilizing enemy tanks. At least if there was no reliable way to damage them myself. Or if we had 2 or 3 SPGs I’d camp in the back and guard them from the enemy lights. Don’t know if that was the best strategy or not, but it’s what I did.

Actually Jingles (sorry, wanted to say that for a while now) the IS-2M is basically a premium IS with better armor. Just like the T34-85 and the T34-85M. Still arguably not overpowered, but yet another premium that is better than the techtree equivalent.

@Dominic Pizzey -- I don't think the PC can switch servers that easily, at least not yet though it may be someday. Iirc, you need a completely different client to play on the NA and EU servers. That server switching idea makes me want to go back to the console, though, I didn't know they'd implemented that one.
@@LHRStormKeeper I like the console for playing WoT tbf, no chat insults, rare that you get total arseholes, no team killing... Hard to not enjoy it tbh. Well, apart from the gold spamming tits who ridgeline camp like a boss... Had a game earlier in my IS, with a Tiger II camped 200 meters behind me... Yeah, made no sense in a tier IX match 😒
Oh mighty overlord, it's 4 in the morning here in Colorado and why I'm still up? I don't really care, new jingles!!!! Also within the first 50 views, I appreciate all your time you put to your videos for us scrubs
How are u still up?
Yes ma'am will be for a while
Teamwork is always most satisfying
Some weeks ago me and my clanmates did a platoon of KV-2s that held and scared the t8s of the other team, it was glorious
I enjoy seeing teamwork in team based games :)
Jingles don't give WG any more ideas, before we know it there'll be a "summon unicum platoon" in the premium shop when people want to take out their wallets and get a nice win button on their screen.
I for my part try to constitute teamwork quite often and sometimes it does actually work. Of course the majority of times I will just get ignored and then when not-using-teamwork inevitebly comes to a grimly end I will not hestitate to call them out as idiots in chat.
So You Tube why have you put this 4 year old video on my 2023 feed? Ahh heck I'll watch it anyway. Cheers Jingles ;)
It sure is nice to see that random teamwork still happens and it's not just a myth. gg wp
"Also, Russian tank drivers are all certifiably crazy."
It's from all that Stalinium sniffing.....
Being a WT player i keep thinking the whole time "the is2 could wrek that tiger comet and 1 shot the m103 from the side" is2 is an amazing tank
Whoa there Jingles, whao!! Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!! Are you literally going to put out a video on the internet, THE INTERNET, and make the bold declaration that WoT Team chat has a use OTHER than telling your team what n00bs they are?!?!?
Well sir, you certainly have my respect for making such a wild and crazy declaration as that!
These are my favorite vids
LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART MICHAEL GREGG XXXXXXXXXXXX
When I use to play heavies a lot, (not so much anymore. Now I prefer scouting) when I found myself at the bottom tier, I would usually focus on immobilizing enemy tanks. At least if there was no reliable way to damage them myself. Or if we had 2 or 3 SPGs I’d camp in the back and guard them from the enemy lights. Don’t know if that was the best strategy or not, but it’s what I did.
Tracking is useful. Basecamping is not.
Most heavy tank guns work fine though as long as you know weak spots.
CodenameGunther
I learned that later. I never base camp anymore. Well, unless I feel like being a scumbag and use an SPG. Lol.
Any other game that starts like this: go up east road, meat T30, one hit by T30, one hit by enemy SPG, game over :)
Funny thing happens when you flank a heavily armored tank. It dies.
Right now WoT players go: This must be fake, teamwork......yeah right =)
nah heatseeker stole all my mm luck and went cyaka blyat
12:02 look at that swiss cheese xD
The IS and the IS2M are probably my favorite tanks of all time in WOT
Jingles im going to my army recruitment office soon for a briefing as i wont to join the tank regiment have you got any tips? Or has anyone else got tips ?
Actually Jingles (sorry, wanted to say that for a while now) the IS-2M is basically a premium IS with better armor. Just like the T34-85 and the T34-85M. Still arguably not overpowered, but yet another premium that is better than the techtree equivalent.
Outstanding video
it's such a shame that you can witness that kind of communication in like 1/1000 random battles if not less
I don't play this game but holy cow is the size difference between the ELC and the Type 4 heavy for real? It looks to me like there's a bit of a scale error. It's like a mouse attacking a cat.
Great video, Jingles
I was playing World of Warships once and had done something and gotten my trash kicked only to then realize that there was a guy in chat trying to direct me to help not have that happen. I didn't notice when it was happening because I didn't realize people still used that thing for anything but insults and jokes!
This battle had a story behind it...
Jingles sir i must admit this player really use a awesome tactic : D i sadly don't play world of tanks but good gameplay indeed : D
Well but Teamplay is still the very least chosen Skill on a Tank-Commander, Jingles ;)
Hussah to the mighty jingles!
Gotta love the ELC EVEN 90 after he killed the Type 4. He fired 2 shots into the wreck which i can only imagine meant: FUCK. YOU.
dogs, horses, men and small tanks, the smaller they get the more they love to bite off more than they can chew
It's that bloody tank game again...
Crazy ivan... you mean a Russian sub captain who likes to make sudden turns port or starboard to check his baffles? Maybe his next turn will be to port because it's the bottom half of the hour.
Some say they never found the tank commander's seat cushion.
Can you do a comprehensive guide on how to become a TOG II* ace?
"Big fat stupid german ass" damn every word is so wrong but feels so good to say it
MICHAEL GREGG LOVES WATCHING WORLD OF WARSHIPS/TANKS ETC BLESS HIM
Quasi-Offtopic comment: Jingles, any plans on doing a video featuring the new Italian premiums? Or has nobody sent you a good replay yet?
WoT - 2018 - Press 2 to teamwork!
