ONE MORE TIME! The LAST Metal Detecting Adventure At My BEST Permission! Minelab MANTICORE Stef Digs

  • In this week’s episode, I went metal detecting for what might be the LAST trip to my BEST permission. It took 5 years, but I think I’ve cleaned this site up pretty well, especially now that I’ve gone back a couple of times with the Minelab Manticore. Of course, there are always frost heaves and landscaping changes that could bring me back for another adventure... time will tell! This was a day filled with Victorian relics and coins, unlike the typical colonial finds you see me dig. I felt a bit like a fish out of water, but at the end of the day, I came home with a handful of “ground antiques,” as always! Enjoy!

Congratulations to the winner of the finds box! The V Nickle is nice, as for the relics a hodgepodge of sorts. A very large musket ball. You hit the nail on the head when you said this place was thining out. I still think there's always a chance for a bucket lister that can still be buried there! Keep on digging, Stef, and I'll catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊

I've never heard of a chatelaine, but now I know what those random but ornate brass pieces I find might belong to. I love finding dog tags--the older the better. My oldest is an 1882 tag from Northfield, MN. Depending on the age of that dog, he could have heard the gunshots from the day the Jesse James gang tried to rob the bank.
