I just found out about Theo Von at 45 yrs... Reminds me of my best buddy I've known since middle school. My buddy is totally the good natured, fun loving dude that is always up for anything.
I think for many my age (27), Nick Swardson was one of first comedians I started following hardcore when I was a teenager. Dude is a legend at this point.
Same dude, he was my first major favorite stand up as a teenager, listened to his albums all the time, finally was able to meet him later on and invited him out to a bar and he showed up to watch UFC, it was a fun night, I got to smoke out his crew 😂

This is so cool! Swardson was the first comedians I started listening to when I was in junior high/high school. I was super stressed and depressed and found one of his standup specials on Pandora and was like “oh man, I think I can get through this as long as I can laugh as much as possible”. The farting ghost bit got me through some of the toughest times I swear 😅 so stoked about this episode!

A Theo and Nick podcast would be one of the funniest podcasts out there. The they riff off each others crazy shit flawlessly. I could listen to them be weirdos for hours.
I know this show was a while ago but if the brother that’s trying to get sober reads this, my advice is to strengthen the bonds between yourself and your (responsible) family and friends as much as possible. I was drinking a handle every 2 days and honestly having my sister and folks to talk to and have my back helped more than anything. Godspeed and good on you for diving in.

Yo this is crazy I just searched Nick Swardson's name last night looking for some new Podcasts with him! He's my favorite pod guest lol thank you for reading my mind Theo!
My dad lives in the keys and let me tell you. Nick is lucky he didn’t become a full alcoholic. I don’t drink much but when I go visit it’s soo easy to get in bad situations a lot. It’s a constant vacation and I love the place. But if you don’t get out and into the water or into an activity, all you do is tan and get drunk. Then hundreds of people live on the street or on floating houses. There’s people from other countries that live in the floating houses and send their kids to do everything since the children are granted immunity and citizenship. Also key west is a giant coral bed as an island. There's not a lot of traditional soil. The best place to sit is no lie in 1-2 feet of water on a sandbar. Siting in a float or a fold chair. you never get cold, you get occasional minnows and stuff eating your dead skin. Theres parties on the sand bars and 100s of boats will park up and party together. good music, tones of weed and alcohol, lots of food. Its the best place during lobster season. 6 per day per person.... captains license allows for one person to harvest for the entire boat.... so my dad tossed my young ass in to get 24 lobsters for the fam. Took me about 30 minutes.
I met Nick Swardson down at the “Southernmost Beach Cafe” in Key West in April of 2021. Dude really was just in a t-shirt and flip flops livin life. He took some pictures with us and was super cool about it. The most down to earth celebrity I’ve met.
Remember when Nick was on Joe Rogan? Fuckin' awful, and I listen to Rogan. Just brushing over Nick's one liners and not getting them. I'm so glad to see him on Theo's podcast again. They compliment each other well.

I know this show was a while ago but if the brother that’s trying to get sober reads this, my advice is to strengthen the bonds between yourself and your (responsible) family and friends as much as possible. I was drinking a handle every 2 days and honestly having my sister and folks to talk to and have my back helped more than anything. Godspeed and good on you for diving in.

My dad lives in the keys and let me tell you. Nick is lucky he didn’t become a full alcoholic. I don’t drink much but when I go visit it’s soo easy to get in bad situations a lot. It’s a constant vacation and I love the place. But if you don’t get out and into the water or into an activity, all you do is tan and get drunk. Then hundreds of people live on the street or on floating houses. There’s people from other countries that live in the floating houses and send their kids to do everything since the children are granted immunity and citizenship. Also key west is a giant coral bed as an island. There's not a lot of traditional soil. The best place to sit is no lie in 1-2 feet of water on a sandbar. Siting in a float or a fold chair. you never get cold, you get occasional minnows and stuff eating your dead skin. Theres parties on the sand bars and 100s of boats will park up and party together. good music, tones of weed and alcohol, lots of food. Its the best place during lobster season. 6 per day per person.... captains license allows for one person to harvest for the entire boat.... so my dad tossed my young ass in to get 24 lobsters for the fam. Took me about 30 minutes.
