Thanks- I really enjoyed these 16 minutes. It scooped me up- out of this mundane existence and put me into the car with you. And I felt like a king (too). Keep up the good work!
you have the best reviews out of all the channels i've seen, i love the subtle comedic take you have the the personality you put into the vids, subbed!
MotoMan, you make the type of show that I would want to make if I made a show about automobiles. I respect you enthusiasm, passion, and admiration for the vehicles you review even after years of doing it. There are other online car shows I watch and many of those hosts are passionate, but have a slight air of being jaded. Thank you for making a show that draws me in and brings out my awe for craftsmanship, power, and creates daydream-like experience that is usually reserved for road trips and soft summer nights.
Whilst im just a peon, that is Thrilled with his fully loaded Fiat 124 Lusso with stick. Watching the Video on the Rolls-Royce website introducing Dawn, brought a tear to my eye. IF I ever won a Big lottery... THIS would be the First car I'd buy.. over anything else... Doubt that will happen... but Damn... Most Stunningly Gorgeous Car EVER !!!!!!!!!!
Hi MotoMan! I love convertibles. I currently drive a 2016 Audi A3 S-Line cabrio and it's fantastic because of it size. I previously owned a 2013 S5 cabrio and I found it was to big and to wild. So the RR, which is gorgeous like an expensive suit or pair of shoes or watch, it's not ideal for us commoners. Unless you live on an estate, and you drive from your estate to the club it's basically a pain in the ass to park and live with every day. It's a rolling Picasso. I have to admit that I do live with a RR everyday as my neighbor owns the RR dealer and he brings one home most days. Very nice to look at. He did tell me that for $5,000 CND a year you can actually get a lifetime warranty... That's cheap if the car is paid off in my opinion. He also told me that most buyers of these cars have a net worth of 20-30 million +. So I'll stick to my Audi for now!
When raising/lowering the top at the 30MPH limit, does the car automatically prevent itself from going faster until the operation is complete? In other words, would the car go faster if you accelerate in mid-operation?
yes there is the Lexus SC 2 concept which is stunning hope it makes it to production. The first generation was amazing to own. hope the new one can capture the details from it's predecessor.
I think what he is referring to about the interior of the convertible top, is what is called a Carson Top, they were popular in the 30's to late 40's custom coachbuilders
I had a Pontiac Grand Ville convertible in 1972. It was a wonderful low speed parkway cruiser for a guy in his mid-twenties. However, it was way noisy at highway speeds and a little bit of exposure to the summer sun went a long ways. I traded it for a 1973 GTO. Today, it is only the 'idea' of a convertible that appeals to me. Even with improved airflow and a Rolls Royce level of sound deadening in the top, something like this would have to be a second car for occasional driving.
Santa Maria... But I digress... don't try this at home. Please give the catchphrases a rest. Your reviews are so smart and informative. We don't need the branding exercise. Your hero Vaynerchuk is clown enough for both of you. Otherwise you produce great videos. Thanks.
Gorgeous doesn’t quite cover it with the Dawn … especially that one! And look at all that wood. Gorgeous. As for a Grand Convertible today, obviously a car like that while a low volume is a statement & a flagship… A car like that should not be subjected to bean counters … otherwise you'd end up with a Chrysler Sebring (eww). A car like the new S convertible follows that formula & goes all the way (Dr Z is the man), A car like the BMW 650i … As much as I love the 6er, you can tell it was a compromise between the designers & bean counters …. Epic exterior, average interior …. The Alpina B6 S takes car of that. As for convertibles designed by Accountings, they are dime a dozen. As always, excellent work M!
I aspire to do my presentations like you, sir... you are so fluid and articulate in all your videos, it's like you designed every car yourself! You obviously know your craft very well indeed - nice work.... keep 'em coiming!! (My fave so far is the S65 video but then I am biased...)
To answer your question, bluntly,...yes. There needs to be a down market grand touring two door convertible for the rest of us. One where folks can fit in the back seats comfortably. There, I said it.
In answer to your question at the end, I'm certain that Lexus or Mercedes (or any car company with an eye for detail) could put out something that is similar to the Rolls Royce Dawn however you'd most likely come away with the impression that it was lacking something that you couldn't quite put your finger on. Its akin to the difference between listening to a recording of Handel's Messiah in your home and listening to it sung live in one of the world's great cathedrals. No matter how good your sound system is at home, the surroundings of a cathedral and the fact that it is live adds greatly to the experience. With the Dawn, the fact that it comes with the prestige and heritage of a Rolls, the fact that every inch of the car has had care and attention lavished on it in the production process and the fact that everything works so well that you don't even have to think about adds up to create a unique experience that cannot be reproduced at a cheaper price or in a different brand.
I would call my 1965 Mercury Park Lane Convertible "grand". The hood is a mile long, plenty of interior room, and it floats along the highway (my uncle had a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix convertible I loved). I'm not sure the bean counters would let one be built today, but Cadillac is the only domestic brand left that could pull it off. I wish there were others out there.
Seriously why does they refuse to give us the new Lincoln Continental?! The Ciel, or a Mercedes-Benz Sonder-Classe convertible sedan?! I know I know, suppy and demand, etc. Ugh.
I enjoyed the review. I really wish I was in your shoes to be able to drive this beautiful car. Well I got to get going, I have lottery tickets to buy. LOL
Oh god yes. The convertible... over here in Slovakia it's been having a renaissance, mostly with various Peugeot CC models, which hit right in affordability and all weather ability. But they are small cars still. I own a C70, which is pretty big for its class, and it's still not quite big enough for a part of four, especially with some luggage. I'd love to see a car that can comfortably take 4 people and their bags, top down.
BTW what's with the windshield wipers, they don't go all the way down behind the wind deflector on the hood, or is it already malfunctioning? I mean like in typical BMW fashion!
What about the safety of the roof I see no support behind the driver and passenger's head in the case of rollover, will it withstand it's enormous weight?
Benjamin Hatchett I have a hard top convertible, they squeak , rattle and also leak terribly...(VW Eos) maybe that's why most manufacturers don't make them now .
What a car - just too much car! Admittedly, I would happier with a high end performance variant of a Jag or German brand, but appreciate that the RRs and Bentleys are just out there, amazing.
The satellite connection is only used to anticipate what gear should be used for the next few terms. Lose the satellite connection and your transmission programming is still there to do its job.
If you already think you can't afford that. You already lose. Just like a football match and the of 1team think that they can't win. Before they start they already lose the game. Your correct reply should has been. The car is already mine but is not visible yet. But you know and believe that it is already your without any doubt and it will be yours.
Yes MotoMan, tell your audience not to try this at home cause they've surely all got a rolls royce in their drive way and aren't mostly broke people who like fancy cars.
Would love to see a S-class Convertible review to see 1. Some sort of a counterpart of this car (even though im not sure if you can compete these two cars and 2. To see the bigger BIGGER brother of the C-class convertible
I love convertibles ..i have peugeot convertable with metal automatic roof ..is not rolls royce but its great in spring and summer and i love it ....i wish someone make 4 door convertable ..i would then trash my second car ...its my only complain about convertables..so i have to fold seats every time few people drives with me and is not easy to get in and out
Gorgeous car that embodies all that is special about the legendary marque. For the top .001% why not. There is room and a market for such opulence, nothing quite says you have arrived like this car as you said you wear it. We all look more like Bradley Cooper to the ladies if we pull up in one of these.
'Is there room for a convertible like this?'.. I think there are many potential buyers of this classy masterpiece, if that was the question. Where will a convertible like this 'fit in'? I would say solely cruising between Cannes and San Remo.
Oh my God. Nice car, some very good points made. Do you have any idea how many times you used the word "LIKE". But then again, I'm a Brit and don't need to resort to "LIKE" every fifth word....... Nice car though..... There you go.....
I'd rather have a Bentley Flying Spur and a Continental GTC for $400K; the Rolls Royce is just for showing off and sitting in the garage of a lavish multi-million dollar home in a rich suburb.
If you think this car is expensive, I visited the local Rolls Royce Dealer and they had a Phantom Drophead in the showroom for slightly less than $600,000 USD! OUCH!
There is something about the Ghost/Wraith/Dawn interior that doesn't convince me fully. The Mulsanne's interior displays too much chrome on the center console and the lack of edgy design makes it look a bit dated but the finish is better yet. Beautiful glamourous convertible nonetheless.
There is room for a grand convertible... but there is not room for a rear console, forcing one of two rear passengers to clamber over whilst entering from the curbside. Of course, if one of those rear passengers is your mother-in-law, the Wraith and Dawn now give you the excuse of having her come 'round into oncoming traffic, and hurriedly enter before the light turns green.
The effort you must put in to deliver the length amount of content you do, Bravo MotorMan
Keep doing what you've been doing :)
Thanks for noticing, Jack . . . Means a lot!
I swear I was about to try this at home until he stopped me at the last second when he said don't try this at home
Yeah, he always does that! I'm just about to try whatever he's doing and he says not to .. :(
I was trying it at home... woke up some folks
hahahahahahahaha
Thanks- I really enjoyed these 16 minutes. It scooped me up- out of this mundane existence and put me into the car with you. And I felt like a king (too). Keep up the good work!
you have the best reviews out of all the channels i've seen, i love the subtle comedic take you have the the personality you put into the vids, subbed!
The wood is beautiful!

Here in Palm Springs, Ca. it is an everyday occurrence to see such automobiles touring our city and they are just beautiful in motion.
"don't try this at home"
* gets in my 400k rolls royce and drives recklessly inside my house just to spite you *
How does this compare to the 2016 Rolls Royce Drophead Phantom Coupe? A step down?
If rolls Royce had the interior of a Bentley that in my opinion would be a perfect car
Funny how they say please don't try this at home. Homie my house isn't that big enough and i don't a Rolls Royce lmao
Funny how you've just said house while the term refers to a home, hommie :@
Cynchronia Didn't realize that.Good spot
Yeah LoL, like I would get the chance in this lifetime to drive that!
These classic cars are so funny ... have to drive yourself! I'm so happy we have the RR Vision now
Whilst im just a peon, that is Thrilled with his fully loaded Fiat 124 Lusso with stick.
I like this reviewer,he's easy to listen to.And thank god for BMW and VW together with the English input.

I don't like how he says "Please don't try this at home" because yes, I totally have a brand new Rolls Royce Dawn sitting in my garage.
This guy sounds like Ralph, the wacko neighbour in "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" from the 70's.
Bulletguy07
When raising/lowering the top at the 30MPH limit, does the car automatically prevent itself from going faster until the operation is complete? In other words, would the car go faster if you accelerate in mid-operation?
Yes. The roof operations will just stop mid cycle until you slow down.
great review congrats very informative.
amazing car simply unrivalled
yes there is the Lexus SC 2 concept which is stunning hope it makes it to production. The first generation was amazing to own. hope the new one can capture the details from it's predecessor.

i enjoyed this review. :) #Respect

As always, excellent work M!
Keep putting out videos for the regular folks, there, Motoman! LOL
Great review, don't let the sarcastic posts about driving at home bother you, we all know what you meant.
A great in depth car review.... really enjoyed it
0:05 Who been washing that car? The clear is so fucked up I wanna cry
I aspire to do my presentations like you, sir... you are so fluid and articulate in all your videos, it's like you designed every car yourself! You obviously know your craft very well indeed - nice work.... keep 'em coiming!! (My fave so far is the S65 video but then I am biased...)

i recently drove an S500 Convertible in Germany and Italy and yes it was great and yes there is always room for such vehicles
Very nice comments! And presentation:)
I want a 4 door convertible. Like the ciel or the s class concept
LOL
Hi sir M from India. My question to u is can this car run when it is raining. Does the roof gets the water in .?
I recognize Decker Canyon. Nice country road with hair pin turns leading down to the ocean
Oh god yes. The convertible... over here in Slovakia it's been having a renaissance, mostly with various Peugeot CC models, which hit right in affordability and all weather ability.

+rémy rtnt so we can consider it pillars that pop up in emergency , that's neat thank you for this interesting info
I'm going to start counting how many times u say driving dynamics per episode
I have a RR sitting in the garage and I'm going to try all that at home how do i get it in the house tho?
can't wait to buy my rolls Royce
Are you going to do the drive test for the Lincoln Continental if so please let me know when or time frame
No.
+MotoManTV savage
lol.
Mr. motorman, can you please review the new Honda Civic hatchback then?
this car is too expensive to not have a hard top convertible. Why are so many car companies afraid of hard top convertibles
As much as I agree with you, to be honest, they're just so much more difficult to produce and they add a sh*t ton of more weight to the car.
i prefer fabric roofs. gives a more classic look and also more boot space
Benjamin Hatchett
I have a hard top convertible, they squeak , rattle and also leak terribly...(VW Eos)
maybe that's why most manufacturers don't make them now .
i am no longer late to things, i was simply held up. lmao i am using that one.
Such a gorgeous vehicle!!
What a car - just too much car! Admittedly, I would happier with a high end performance variant of a Jag or German brand, but appreciate that the RRs and Bentleys are just out there, amazing.
Perfection of the perfect 👌🏼
is the handkerchief in the top pocket really necessary?
what happends if your loose satellite connection? gear changes still possible?
The satellite connection is only used to anticipate what gear should be used for the next few terms. Lose the satellite connection and your transmission programming is still there to do its job.
Actually it was on the Rolls before the 7 Series but yeah it's BMW tech.
I need this in 1/18 :D
AGREED! I am also an 18 scale collector . . .
+raphael gross I need this in 1:1. Seriously. Im in love with the Ghost/Wraith/Dawn.
fuck the 1/18 go for the real car
I wouldn't say 'no' to the real one, of course not! But in my case the model car makes more sence...
But I would love to own the real one! :)
If you already think you can't afford that. You already lose. Just like a football match and the of 1team think that they can't win. Before they start they already lose the game. Your correct reply should has been. The car is already mine but is not visible yet. But you know and believe that it is already your without any doubt and it will be yours.
Hello, why the passenger seat, visible on the left side of the frame, all the time moving!
Is this the original Rolls Royce ???????????????????
Yes MotoMan, tell your audience not to try this at home cause they've surely all got a rolls royce in their drive way and aren't mostly broke people who like fancy cars.
whats wrong with his hands? did he have a stroke?
Would love to see a S-class Convertible review to see 1. Some sort of a counterpart of this car (even though im not sure if you can compete these two cars and 2. To see the bigger BIGGER brother of the C-class convertible
Jeez local Rolls Royce dealers getting lazy with detailing... Brown tires, swirl marks galore, not even sure what to say
Lol the detailers probly make 8 bucks an hour, they dont give a fuck
I can't wait till I learn to drive
Great review.
Which one do you prefer the Bentley or the Rolls?
Well done.
I love convertibles ..i have peugeot convertable with metal automatic roof ..is not rolls royce but its great in spring and summer and i love it ....i wish someone make 4 door convertable ..i would then trash my second car ...its my only complain about convertables..so i have to fold seats every time few people drives with me and is not easy to get in and out
I am stuck choosing between this and the Bentley Convertible. Leaning more toward the Dawn though. 8o)
What an impressive car!
What a sexy car. Even down to the window wipers
Those look a bit off, imo. They are fat and weird.
On my wish list 😬😬💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Lol good luck with that
A car I will never have :(
dont say tht u might win the lottery...
+rANDOMdDUDe Get real. It will never happen. Nobody ever wins lottery. All you can do is watch real men drive and wish them good.
Absolutely beautiful
Gorgeous car that embodies all that is special about the legendary marque. For the top .001% why not. We all look more like Bradley Cooper to the ladies if we pull up in one of these.
Those swirl marks at the beginning... Did the owner take her through a tunnel wash or something?
Good review, as always. That said, are there DOZENS of us who think the Rolls (and the Bentleys, sorry) are sorta ugly?
Simply awesome
I counted 16 ‘likes’ in a paragraph. Motoman’s caught the teen literary ‘like’ disease. Great video though as usual.
Look at those scratches at 0:05!! Who put that beauty through a horribly cheap car wash? Makes me cringe.
'Is there room for a convertible like this?'.. I think there are many potential buyers of this classy masterpiece, if that was the question. Where will a convertible like this 'fit in'? I would say solely cruising between Cannes and San Remo.

$1,200 floor mats . . . 😂 that's what I'm talking bout
it looks like I'm not trading in my 2015 I'll wait till next year to see what they come up with
This car screams wealth.
I'd rather have a Bentley Flying Spur and a Continental GTC for $400K; the Rolls Royce is just for showing off and sitting in the garage of a lavish multi-million dollar home in a rich suburb.
this Rolls is like the Riva yacht
If you think this car is expensive, I visited the local Rolls Royce Dealer and they had a Phantom Drophead in the showroom for slightly less than $600,000 USD! OUCH!

No wonder why this cost so much, it's beauty is incomparable
0:06 what the hell is with all those scratches???
Is it bulletproof?
some people liken it to a boat in a disparaging way...I think it's a compliment...
Rolls Royce superiority is obvious, no need to talk about her, she is the most handsome in the world...
nice no nonsense honest
Thank you
Yeah I'll try this on the road. not at home
My Luxury Dream Car
Suicide doors on a Rolls Royce...what a dumb idea...and the cheesy pop-up and down hood ornament.
Yeah like I am going to be driving in home 😂😂😂
that hanky, shirt and jeans? and you want to be refined in the rolls for the summer? just fucking with you man! 😀
I would like a big Buick convertible
