Hey Fred, just wanted to say a huge thanks to you guys for helping me through my final year, I graduated and made the dean's list. Been working for 3 months now and i still reference the channel for certain stuff.
Hey, were super glad to hear that, really motivates us to continue making videos. Also glad to hear it's helping you at work, were trying to focus more on relating the problems we solve to industry standards and real life situations. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Fred, keep on making Ryerson proud! Whenever you have time it would be good to talk about your transitioning from school to work and how you found that. Maybe talk about some of your regular daily tasks, how you accomplish them, what softwares you use, etc. Regards - Ilion
Thanks man appreciate it! Is this Ilion from the lab? Been wanting to branch off into this style of video actually, hopefully find the time to make some videos like this. Take care!
Awesome video, can you also make a theoretical video on partial release for frames and foundations. I am learning the software but my concepts are not clear. Thanks. Keep up the great work you doing
Thanks! Are you referring to assigning stiffness to supports when evaluating frames in softwares? This is a very difficult concept to quantify and most of the time is at the engineers judgement and based on the situation. Thanks for the post!
Please do Mat foundation using both hand and Visual analysis software thanks. Also, do the moment stiffener(or triangular gusset plate) design calculation for steel frame connection at beam and column connection. Thanks.

I just got my diploma in civil engineering, and i'm now working in canadian structure engineering firm.
Your video helps me a lot
Thanks !
Great, congratulations! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for the Video. to compare Vu with Vr, why the load ( 15 KPA) was not factored ?
wf = factored distributed load

Do you have a video explaining strut and tie method?
Not yet, but this is a great topic that we will definitely make videos on in the future. Thanks!
how do we calculate Vf?
Calculate shear based on loading, apply factors from your local building code
