Thought running a wire through the firewall would be the hardest part of my project. Followed your instructions and was done in minutes. Awesome info. Thanks.
another option I just cut an old gopro USB cable "all four wires for data and power" and soldered it to the 4 pins on the left top from out out side to in..., Red, White, Green, Black, I used a solder iron to heat up the existing small hole in the pin connector back and pushed the cut end of the USB cable through and left the male USB portion out the back to plug into the USB extension cable off the Head unit. Thanks for this video it helped me make some decisions and help take apart the console area a bit.
I would’ve disconnected the negative and remove the bracket that holds the battery in place and pull it forward so that way you have more room to access the firewall
Hey JP, I have a 2022 Hyundai Sonata. Can you give me a quick instruction on getting a constant power source inside the trunk? Can I splice into any factory wiring already running through the trunk? I just need a power source to feed to keep my little GPS battery powered gadget charged. My last car I had it mounted right under the steering column. It was well hidden. Sure enough my car got lifted. Since I had gps on it I went and retrieved it myself. It was taken from me in Florida and I retrieved it in North Carolina. I recommend every car owner install one in their ride! I think the GPS will work better in the trunk for live tracking. The last one I powered straight to the fuse box and hid it near the fuse box right under the steering column. The issue with that is the live tracking was spotty because of the location of my gps device. I would love to mount it on the outside of the car but too much risk of it being found or falling off on the outside.
Quick question for some of you out there. 23 hyundai elantra sel convenience package. Im gonna install 4-skar 6.5's a Pioneer 4 channel 1000w peak amp and a skar 12" sub tube. Do you think the 6.5"s will have enough power from the factory head unit? I would like to amplify them as well but for me the installation is already hard enough with this touchscreen factory head unit plus i don't want to take away a chunk of my watts that could be going to the sub. If anyone has installed in the 23 elantra sel convenience please give me some pointers. There isn't much info out there yet.
Damn this is actually one of the best explanations I found for wiring amps in a car.

What gauge wire did you run ? I’m looking to run some 0 gauge through, might have to drill through.
You did a good job showing useful info. Keep this stuff up!
Your tutorial is a life saver, i cant find anything on the standard 21 but this is the closest arrangement. Much appreciated bud 👍

i’m struggling so bad to hook up the converter to speaker wires, where can i connect this?
I don't think cutting through the gromet was the best way to do this because as that rubber ages it's going to crack and fall apart from the cut
I have a Hyundai Accent 2022 and i need assistance to install a amp, i don’t see any video in the car i have?
