Our supervisor was ill for the start of the year so we started out EPQ considerably late. Watching this made feel like all hope isn't lost yet, just got to cram in an EPQ in just under 2 months haha!
This video, and your documents, made me seriously reconsider how to approach my EPQ and how much you need to develop your production log. this video has given me an extra boost of confidence now that i have a more clear understanding on what i now have to do at my stage of the EPQ journey. :D

I found that the EPQ can be really useful for UCAS applications eg Personal statements, I got 46/50 marks I think but in the end i can say I did really enjoy it!!but if anyone is going to do it *PLAN* or you will regret it 😂😭

@@MissJazzyJamz I think my advice would differ slightly to what Jake said as I imagine I covered an entirely different topic and I took a slightly different approach in terms of preparation so I will definitely make a video about it especially since we are in lockdown and I have more time. also thank you for the sub il do my best to do the video asap ❤️

Literally watching this while finishing my EPQ logbook! Left my EPQ really late (I'm in U6 and only just finishing it now - but i'm a busy person )and this is super helpful for finishing it off! So bizarre though that my original title was lucid dreaming as well but then ended up completely changing it
No way!!! I’ve literally not heard of anyone else that started with lucid dreaming ahahahha. What was your title in the end?
@@JakeClarke Yeah neither that's why I thought to comment! I ended up going with essentially how recidivism rates are influenced across Norway, the UK and the USA because I want to study psychology at uni and had a passion for criminal psychology :)

I have my presentation this week, I did it with my art history course with art for everyone, a course I do outside of my school alevles for state school pupils and I am looking around to see what needs to be included and what has done well in the presentations etc.

Do you have any tips on being critical and analytical? Because after my first draft I was advised to be less narrative and descriptive. My supervisor told me that I need to develop a line of argument which I struggled to do. Thanks!
we are forced to do ipq and we havent even been giving a log book and no support but they expect us to finish the draft by january when we come back from school im stressed out
I started my EPQ a few weeks ago. It’s due next Monday. I only started then because I wasn’t originally part of it. I didn’t even know my college did it. I just needed the marks. I’ll return here and let you know what I got.

Religion / ethics go into like the past as well so medieval ideology and just bunch of history books tbh

Hi Jake, I really appreciate your video. I have a question, I had a look at your chart, you started in the first semester and you finished it in the second semester, Am I right? Because my school they let us do EPQ since year 12, which I quite confuse because they give us 5 semester to do it but you just finished it in 2 semesters.
Yeah some schools do it differently but there are two submission dates, a 2 term window and a 5 term window :))

I've just been promoted to a levels and I've literally never heard of an epq before(I'm from a 3rd world country). Could someone please provide a bit more guidance on this project, what it consists of, and how I'm supposed to carry out this project?
I have to decide whether to do an EPQ in 3 weeks and I dont know what I would do it on!!!!😕 I am doing Economics and it would probably be on an area in it but I dont know.
That’s ages to think :) and remember you don’t have to confirm the topic until a few weeks in and can change it whenever. Could start with general economics

@@ruqz03 you can literally change the entire direction of your epq three months in and be fine. Of course try not to do this too much because time is of the essence.

No worries ahahahah, yeah I honestly loved it as it gave me an actual reason to practice it 😂 Honestly I’d just pick something you think sounds interesting and run with it. Could be learning a new skill and seeing it’s practicalities or just a theoretical idea that’s cool

hey jake! i'm in yr10 at the moment which means im doing my GCSE's next year.
i chose triple science, higher maths, cooking, drama, french and geography.
out of all of them, i struggle with English Lang the most. i'm doing the AQA board. I have started to read every night now but have you got any recommendations? I REALLY want to get a 7 or 8 in English.

The best thing to do for English language is to read a wide variety of non fiction and fiction books and practise analysing them, looking for various structural and language devices. Also practise your creative writing and non creative writing by just writing your own articles and stories on various topics and themes. Doing all this I got a grade 9
I am unsure whether the EPQ must have arguing and two sides of view or whether it is okay to have a factual based research
