  • We can't do it all, and we need to consider the sustainability of our family's mental health. So we say no to things, we can't say yes to everything!

We say no to a lot of things. It really is about self preservation and knowing everyone’s boundaries and limits. 😊
Jacob is a master bubble blower. Watching him is so mesmerizing!

You guys are doing such an amazing job. I sometimes feel like I say no to things more than I say yes. One of my sons biggest triggers are crowds and it takes so much planning and effort just to do an everyday task like shopping or going to the park. It can definitely be so isolating and not a lot of people really understand until they experience it for themselves. Well done Jacob with those awesome bubbles 🫧

I have had to let go as a mum of going to events like Christmas carols and any crowded events! It was sad but it wasn’t a positive experience for my precious little one with ASD. It was overstimulating, overwhelming and sensory overload every single time.
We are thankful that we live in another state to both our families because there are many extended family events we would have had to miss out on! The lack of support totally sucks though. Thanks for the video ❤

Since moving 2 years ago I haven't gotten any invitations to anything because I haven't made many friends. This life is busy and isolating. I'm hoping next year will be better. Take care! ❤

I always love your videos and this one was great but I found myself surprisingly disappointed because I thought you were going to talk about strategies for saying no to Jacob so if you ever need a video topic, I'd love a video about that. I think one week is great so it's not overwhelming and it can just be enjoyable. I wouldn't be opposed to a few random shorts here and there though. Also, when will we get the update about Jazz's autism assessment? It's been 3 months.
