Anyone with a fine voice from most any genre of music would have been great on this recording. I have never heard a female sing this, but most certainly Jean Shephard, Connie Smith, Connie Francis, Eydie Gormet, Shirley Bassey, and Wanda Jackson would have nailed it. Among the males, Elvis, Englebert Humperdinck, Johnny Tillotson, Johnny Duncan, Warner Mack, Bobby Lewis, David Rogers, Billy Walker, Webb Pierce, and a host of others. This performance belongs in the Pantheon of the greatest country recordings ever produced. 🌠Milton Moore🌠
My mama was a Faron Young fan from back in the 50s . This song just popped up as I was listening. Brought back memories of my mother as she passed January 2021.
The man has such a catalogue of great great songs, and can sing anything. In same class as Ray Price. Traditional Country Music was so lucky to have these two men. Riderprider in Edmonton Alberta Canada.
Hi Jackie, Bianca shared this on Facebook, so of course I absolutely had to listen! You know I love love hearing Faron sing! Going to share to groups. I hope you and the family are doing well and staying cool! 🎶❤️🎶
Anyone with a fine voice would have sounded great on this recording. Too bad that Jean Shephard, Connie Smith, and Wanda Jackson never recorded it. And among the males, Johnny Tillotson, Warner Mack, George Morgan, Johnny Duncan, Bobby Lewis, and a host of others. This recording by Faron Young belongs in the Pantheon of the greatest country performances of all time. 🌠Milton Moore🌠 Las Vegas, Nevada
Milton, your comment about being reconciled to a deserted isle with one Faron recording is amusing. I've often thought if I had to be stuck on an island, I'd want a violin to teach myself how to play - and I've have a head full of Faron & Jim Reeves' songs to play. I enjoyed your post Milton. Regards.
@@steelmank4771 Just found this. Thanks for the compliment. Google Faron on SAN ANTONIO ROSE on the Florian Stollmayer's Wild West channel. Best post on YOU TUBE.😊 😃🌠

If I were restricted
to taking one Faron Young recording to be
deserted on a
desert island with, this
would be the one.
