- John Varvatos Vintage, the second fragrance release by the brand, was composed by Rodrigo Flores-Roux who has been in charge of all the JV fragrances. He is a master of creating designer scents priced affordably that smell totally unique and are complex.
Here we get an intriguing combination of the quince fruit and rhubarb which give the fragrance a very tart, juicy, hydrated feel like cracking open a coconut, and darker elements like tobacco, leather, and patchouli. There is elevation and sophistication from the pepper and lavender. The scent spicy and leathery but also green and aromatic at the same time. Another unique aspect is the use of wormwood which along with the fir create camphorous feel that transports you to a cool damp forest. Everything is rounded out by the soft suede leather note which rorms the base.
Really enjoy vintage. Like you said it’s super unique and full bodied
I started talking about fragrances on my channel back in November. You are a “reviewers reviewer”. Love your takes. You are spot on with this. Great vid.
I honestly can't express how much I absolutely love this fragrance. I know the longevity for, basically every JV fragrance, isn't great/gets trashed but I completely love this. I'm in my mid 40s & love the more mature scents (this & Encre Noire are 2 go tos for me, if that says anything). It's just beautiful, manly, elegant & refined, and pulls it off effortlessly.
Which one would you pick between the JV Vintage and Encre Noire. I love the Encre Noire.
@@mbhingarde Vintage by a long shot. I've since sold my Encre Noire (but I'll likely buy the A L'Extreme later as it feels more rounded). Vintage is just that though, at least to me. It's Vintage, timeless, classy & can be dressed up or down in my books.
Excellent review, thanks for sharing.
Love Dark Rebel, Vintage, Dark Rebel rider andArtisan pure. Awesome fragrances.
Nice video. I learn with your reviews.
Justin Copeland from Stay Fresh Productions (RUclips Fragrance Reviewer) hyped this fragrance for good reason, a mix of rhubarb, quince, pepper, basil, cinnamon, lavender, jasmine, tobacco, tonka bean, and patchouli. Vintage & modern, it can be worn for any occasion. Great review amigo..
Totally, and thank you!
