Having flown the Etihad 777 from AUH to YYZ recently I have noticed some changes in Economy in 2024: 1. The Amenity kit in Economy has hand cream in addition to the earplugs and eye mask, and it comes in a small pouch in a tote bag. 2. Etihad brought back their 2 pin headphones in Economy 3. I don’t know if you had a third meal on your flight, but I was served a third meal just before arrival Of course, this was after the COVID restrictions were lifted. But yeah, Emirates is still a better airline in the UAE than Etihad, but Etihad is still a great airline compared to most other airlines in my opinion.
Thanks for the insight! ive only heard good about Etihad in recent times as they have been recovering at an incredible pace following the COVID era, I'm hoping to fly their A350 later next year which looks like a very promising package
Nice takeoff and landing footage! I do not think it is fair to relate Etihad to a "low cost" airline. It definitely has better economy long haul offerings in comparison to many other long haul air carriers such as Air Canada, American, or Air China. Lets also not forget that airlines like Turkish even stopped giving pillows and hot meals for nearly an entire year during the pandemic for long haul operations. Compared to 2019, Etihad has improved once again. At one point, Etihad stopped offering amenity kits, and began selling snacks even on long haul flights. For meals, it was just a hot entrée with a bread and drink. I think this review was a bit too critical and it seems you were only focusing on comparing with Emirates. I also am not sure why there was no mention of a third meal. When I flew Etihad 4 times between North America and AUH these past few months, the flight attendants confirmed that 2 hot meals + a mid flight snack (sandwich) service is the standard on all their North American routes, including YYZ, ORD, JFK, and IAD and that each meal service includes one vegetarian option as well. Besides my recent experience, other reviews I've seen on the AUH - YYZ route shows that 2 hot meals + a mid flight snack service was provided. Also, note that the last row on port and starboard sides of the 77W. both 2 and 3 class configuration, is 55, not 53.
You make a good point! Yeah no doubt Etihad is nice, but considering lots of people have to choose between them and Emirates, is why I was comparing them alot, as for the 3rd meal it never happened on board. And you are right 53 was not the last row, however my family booked 53A, 54A+B, and 55A, so I just said it was the last row because it really didn't change anything
While I find it sad the B777’s are retiring, it’s fair enough as the hard product on the B787’s and soon A350’s is far better.. Etihad’s B777 is quite a product inconsistency. Thanks for sharing this with us😃
@@ApexAviation9782 thanks my friend for loving my shorts .. I dont know why I couldn't not find the comment that ýou left only in notification I seen it ✌
I was supposed to yeah, but Canada was only accepting Indians who got tested at Delhi Airport and it was very expensive and I would have to fly Air India or Air Canada but if I flew etihad then I could get tested at Abu Dhabi. With an only 5 hour layover. We had return tickets booked with Emirates but I only had 2 hours at Dubai so couldn't get tested there
Nice review man, it was nice to see ETP (or any of the 777's for that matter) haven't changed much since I flew them despite the seat covers. Amenity kit was exactly the same as what I had, just with less products I can see. Such a shame that these birds are leaving the fleet, but I guess for the passengers this is a welcome change.
Thanks alot AS!! in fact the day before flying, when I knew it was gonna be ETP I watched your video all over again, yeah like you said, not much of a difference, obviously the downgrades are due to COVID-19, but still kind if sad to see where the airline is now, Cheers and thank you sooo much for dropping by!!
@@frankie3591 So all of these ETP and ETG stuff are the registration of the plane. So the registration of the plane that he flew in this video is A6-ETP and the one I flew on was A6-ETG. There are other registrations too like G-STBA and N717AN.
No, AUH does offer US Pre-Clearance for passengers bound to USA, but Canadian bound passengers have to clear transit security at AUH and go through customs + immigration on arrival at Canada.
Great Video! No BS. Right to the point. Shows good and bad (with legit complaints)
Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Frankie!! Yeah i try to show the true reality rather than being biased ;)

Same here, flew it in 2013
Yeah I'm still waiting that flight ticket please
Nice vid, is the flight full or half full?
The flight was completely full, no seats left in business on economy, Thanks for watching:)
❤😍
Thanks mate!
How many meals they serve ?
@private3355 2 Full Meals, and 2 optional snacks. Along with snacks in the galley we could go and grab whenever (the cookies were the best)
I thought you were gonna fly back the A380 to Toronto

I remember I was gonna fly on ETP but then it changed to ETG.
@@HelenCyprus1 okay can you help out a novice? What are people talking about? ETP?

Wait, I thought the 777's of Etihad were doing preighter services. Nice trip report 👌 👍
I think 2 ir 3 of them are, Etihad is retiring their B777-300ERs by 2022, this this is one of the last times this plane would fly
Back in 2016 I flew on Etihad Airways to go to India 🇮🇳 and my favorite part is when they gave me Chapman ice cream sandwich!
Thanks for watching Josh!
Does Abu Dhabi Airport have a Canadian Immigration Service point?
I was connecting from India, yes I belive they do, thanks for watching
No, AUH does offer US Pre-Clearance for passengers bound to USA, but Canadian bound passengers have to clear transit security at AUH and go through customs + immigration on arrival at Canada.
nice one mate
Cheers Mitch!
What about the WiFi
WiFi was available but i dint buy it because i had no sleep on my previous flight, so i slept for the most part
Reason why etihad are cost cutting is because they're recovering from almost going bankrupt 2 years ago
Yeah you are right, there is alot of cost cutting throughout the flight, very different experience
Delays are not that bad after all. . . . :D
Made for seeing a few more planes 😉
