Very nice presentation. One little correction: not a corner is named “Green Hell”, but the whole Nürburgring-Nordschleife after a quote by Jackie Steward
Thanks, Daniel! We believe Jackie Steward quoted this after an infamous crash on one of the corners of the track; is that correct? They crashed into trees and thus the "Green Hell" name came about... or perhaps Francesca wasn't quite paying attention during Global Training this year... 😅
@@MercedesBenzSouthWest The Nürburgring was famously nicknamed as “The Green Hell” by Sir Jackie Stewart after he won the 1968 German Grand Prix amid a rainstorm and thick fog. The infamous crash was perhaps the one of Niki Lauda 1976 at Bergwerk.
If you plan to visit the Nürburgring and drive during the Touristenfahrten, do not bring the G63, get an AMG GT😉. Then give me a call and I will take pictures.

This vehicle was ordered by Shah of Iran for Iranian army,it wasn't meant for civilians at the time,after 1979 Mercedes Benz put a hold on making them (Shah was a big shareholder of Mercedes Benz) because of the revolution in Iran,it took nearly 20 years till Mercedes started to make'em again,best on and off road SUV

That is not true that it took 20 years! In Germany you could by the G-Klasse already in the early 80´s. My father bought one in 1982

WIKIPEDIA: The development of the G-Class started in 1972 with a cooperative agreement between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Graz, Austria. Mercedes-Benz engineers in Stuttgart were in charge of design and testing, while the team in Graz developed the production plans. The first wooden model was presented to Daimler-Benz management in 1973, with the first drivable prototype beginning various testing including German coalfields, the Sahara Desert, and the Arctic Circle in 1974. Construction commenced on a new production facility in Graz, where the new cross-country vehicle would be assembled nearly entirely by hand in 1975, with production of the "G Model" beginning in Graz in 1979. In 1980, the Vatican took delivery of a specially made G-Wagen outfitted with a clear thermoplastic top which served as the Popemobile. The "Papa G" later took up permanent residence at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.[citation needed]
The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982, when the 230 GE was introduced in Turin,[11] along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tires and fender flares. Square body look's so beautiful , the side mirror's are curve designed doesn't look nice ( the side Mirror design would fit Sedan Mercedes ) . The side Mirror's need to be little bit Square would look and correspond towards it's body design.
Is Mercedes Gwagon available round steering wheel instead of D shape??
The G400d is available with a round steering wheel, but all AMG and AMG Line steering wheels have the flat bottom 🙂

I love the 63 engine HOWEVER for an everday car they are an absolute waste of time ... look at how many are forsale the websites are full of them IMHO I believe after owning 14 mercs the best is the 500 or 550 V8 ... what is ur experience ... AND merc please install handles to get in and out of these cars
Luckily, the extensive MB model range allows enough choice to suit everyone! The 500 and 550 engines are top tier, as well as the 63. However, we also don't understand why there aren't any grab handles above the door 🤔 at least the G-Wagon has the central grab handles for entry and off-roading!

Make the infotainment touchscreen..
This may be something we can expect on the next facelift... The G-Class is possibly the last model in the range to receive a touchscreen and extended MBUX technology.
@@MercedesBenzSouthWest nice.. and please.. before you upgrade the face-lift with a touchscreen, let the next model just have a touchscreen infotainment with the current face. You can do the face-lift in two years or later model.. let's enjoy the present model but with a touchscreen infotainment. I'm sure a lot of people would want that for a start.

We're sure it is in the works for the next generation... Until then, we will have to wait patiently for Mercedes-Benz Germany to release further news.

The Benz is not a thoroughbred off-road vehicle, even its forefather, the G model, was not one. The Austrian Prinzgauer is a real off-road vehicle or the UAZ 469 or the GAZ 69 or the Lada Niva. Who goes off-road in an Armani suit, nobody! If you only compare the approach angles at the front and rear of the Lada Niva and the Benz, you can immediately see the difference and who was really built for off-road use. Even with a Suzuki Jimny you can outperform the Benz off-road. The electronics of the Benz are completely overwhelmed in difficult terrain. The Benz, for example, has no real off-road reduction and the front and rear axles cannot be 100% locked. With the Benz you have to set the automatic transmission to manual and then use the shift paddles on the steering wheel to select the lower gears. Anyone who drives a Benz like this never goes off-road, partly because the owner is often inexperienced or has absolutely no idea, and partly because something breaks, repairing it becomes really expensive. For four and a half years I drove through the countryside with 6x6 and 4x4 from 1.5 tons to 15 tons.
We were very lucky to witness the G-Wagons off-road capabilities during the Mercedes-Benz Global Training in Mallorca this year. Our very experienced Mercedes-Benz AG drivers took us out and showed us the G-Class from various angles in various conditions. We are very confident that it is a suitable off-road vehicle, but appreciate that few people may use it for this. However, it's good to have the choice.
@@MercedesBenzSouthWest Anyone who drives off-road here in Germany very rarely drives a Benz, popular models are the Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser, Suzuki Jymny, Lada Niva and Landrover Defender. A real off-road vehicle is characterized by a high wading depth, an intake manifold that is far above the hood, a reasonable winch and tire pressure control system. Good ground clearance and large departure angles at the rear and front. Axles that are 100% lockable and have terrain reduction or terrain reduction. A mechanical transmission is also important. It is then still important that the axes can be correctly interlaced. That would depend on what you are comparing it to in regards to speed... We raced the G63 against the SL63 and the EQS53 and it was naturally last every time, because it's so big and heavy! Doesn't mean it's not iconic though 🙂
I'm sure the EQ update will provide more performance!

@@rafaelfigueroa2479 Thank you for your comment! It is all speculative currently, but we have seen evidence of an EQ variation of the G-Class. We do not concretely know what will happen to the G-Class ICE though, so we are enjoying it whilst we can!

The ICON is the G-Wagon. Not the G63. The G63 is the poser - trying to be an AMG when it’s really not.
The real icon is the G400/G550 in off road trim (ie with proper tires).
We can't disagree with that - The G-Wagon diesel is the OG. With any engine, this car is an icon.
