The tax law is based on gross vehicle weight, not curb weight, in excess of 6000 lbs. The g63 comes in at 7000+ lbs GVWR. I'm not a tax expert though, check with your Accountant.

We actually had a bit of fun putting mine on the scales when messing around one day, and it was 2527 kg with 3/4 tank of fuel. These are the same scales I use for my GT3 race car. Anyhow, that's about 5660 lbs I believe.😀 I win!🤣

THE SUZUKI JIMNY!!! the little but cheap off roader that seems and looks simiular to the g63. people customize the little jimny to look like a mini g63.
A g63 is 6,000 lb so you can write off the whole depreciated amount on your taxes. It's a huge tax break especially if you put it in your business name
I'm in South Africa and it is almost R2000 to fill the tank but I still don't mind at all because I get to experience the G-Wagon everytime I take it for a spin and it is my favorite for long distance driving for the past 10yrs both generations that I have experienced were just super phenomenal and I can't wait to experience the 2022 model

This is the perfect example of how the world has become enslaved by trends and more recently social media. I own a brand new GLE 53 AMG that is fully loaded. The dealer called me the other day because they had one of these in the showroom. The fact that this car doesn’t have soft closing doors, keyless open, panoramic sunroof and uses the old entertainment system for almost twice the price just leaves me scratching my head. The only reason I would spend that much on this instead of buying 2 amazing high end cars is to flex. But let’s be honest, nowadays this isn’t much of a flex, there are loads of them
It’s a car, not an appliance. You buy it for its design and performance. Less tech is better. I don’t want a car talking to me or micromanaging my driving. And I’m quite capable of opening a car door with a key (!)
You are absolutely right about it no longer being a flex because everyone has one now. I had a G wagon back in 2007 when very few people had them and it was a head turner. Some people thought it was ugly and other people thought that it was unique. It was a gas guzzler. I kept it for 5 years and sold it to a guy from Canada who sent a shipping company to pick it up. It did hold its value because I got back almost what I had paid for it even though it was 5 years later. I have been contemplating buying another one because I like the design; however, now they are twice what I paid for mine! These were originally used as military vehicles.

I have a matte black 2022 G63… I’m literally in love w this car. The way it looks, the way it sounds. It’s so unique and definitely a head turner (especially where i live). I literally don’t want another car ever lol it definitely is loud on the highway which is my biggest con. But i just turn my music loud 😂 I’m obsessed lol sport+ mode and i feel like a formula 1 driver 😂 i love my truck.
The thing is that Mercedes didn’t make G63 for the 2022 model year because of chip shortages. The latest is 2021. Unless you are talking about the exclusive edition 55 which there will be only 55 and released ummmm later this year.
The door open closing sound just CANNOT be heard in a video. It is an amazing sound for sure. As far as the side pipe exhaust; I'm not a fan. If I ever buy one I'll rear exit the exhaust. Good review.

Great review and incredible car, mostly off-road where this really shines. Mercedes has pulled some magic not updating this car to at least current standards on the tech and charging 300k for it? For me, give me a GLS500 and a S500 for the same price.

A customized g-class with every option is close to $190k excluding taxes, transportation and registration so $230k-$250k total price sounds fair but 350k 400k it's overpriced unless it's tuned to increase power
One of the worst vehicles MB makes. I can't understand why anyone would pay what they ask for one of these. It's all a status thing I guess. I had several of these I drove for work and they were absolute garbage with all kinds of problems and on top of that they are small inside.
You know what with the way you describe it it proved that you haven’t even touched a g wagen and do you know why wealthy people want it because it provides a sense of safety it makes you feel invincible and that can be felt only If you’d owned it and which brings me back to say stop the cap 🤫
Why worst? It's a proper offload vehicle, had a tonne of history, well built, one of the best performance engines now, and has become so cool and a statement vehicle

Where is the vegan leather, falling behind here. In hot climates leather is the worst of all and it’s just dead animal anyways. The HUD super glossy is not great in sunny environments and a tad laggy. Doors are heavy and personally the sound gives me agony, I need more base. Engine sounds super, give me the chills, but laggy again. The space you get for such a large car is surprisingly little and the gas mileage $130.- hahaha that’s what I pay for a 2l Audi Q5 for 90 grade fuel in Europe on a tank half the size, you US people are lucky it’s so cheap there. Love the looks, hate the price and weight. It’s basically a show off car for people with high egos. Best car for mafia hahaha!

Owned HSE Range Rover and G63. No contest RR wins . Comfort inside , ride quality and value. Most people I know buy G's and regret it within 6 months. Drives like a brick , very uncomfortable. Buy a Rubicon and save 200k.
They are hardly worth MSRP. The novelty wears off so quickly that it is utterly pointless. And after living with it after a while, you start hating all the impracticalities.

I actually prefer the G550 - much better suited package for what the G is. Same engine, same interior. It's never going to be a real AMG, so why fake it? It's a luxury off road machine that has no equal!
Love this car, now what bank am I going to rob to get it? One of the best, if not the best Off Road cars, however, some people say if you go off roading, get the Toyota FJ, and it will be more reliable too, and for a lot less money. Who cares about luxury? Those people are making a dang good point, but this car handles better, has a lot more HP because Toyota refuses to make their cars with a lot of power, so I still choose this G Wagon anyways.

It doesn't have keyless locks because of the signatory g-wagon doors. It would otherwise just have normal looking and sounding doors without the signatory g-wagon locks. It also has a panoramic roof 18:00.
The locks are pretty remarkable. What is really funny is to activate them while you have passengers in the car. They are stupid loud and you car really give people a jolt lol.

Re the sluggish transmission, at a guess it'll have the MB adaptive transmission, it will learn how you like to drive and change to suit once it's used for a while.
For 300K no shot in hell. I drove a 2 year older and they are badass. They are definitely fine. Like he said, touch screen would be a bit better. But these things were built for a little more than a Mercedes with the best tech.

One of the best, if not the best Off Road cars, however, some people say if you go off roading, get the Toyota FJ, and it will be more reliable too, and for a lot less money. Who cares about luxury? Those people are making a dang good point, but this car handles better, has a lot more HP because Toyota refuses to make their cars with a lot of power, so I still choose this G Wagon anyways.

For that much money it needs keyless locks and a panoramic roof, I wouldn’t get it because of that reason. Figure it out Mercedes!
It doesn't have keyless locks because of the signatory g-wagon doors. It would otherwise just have normal looking and sounding doors without the signatory g-wagon locks. It also has a panoramic roof 18:00.

If closing the door, and locking unlocking the doors are the best sounding feature of the car... then enough said lol
The locks are pretty remarkable. What is really funny is to activate them while you have passengers in the car. They are stupid loud and you car really give people a jolt lol.

It’s a largely produced vehicle this will massively depreciate within a four year time frame. Holding no value or rareness. There is no way this thing should cost anywhere close to the price of a cullinan. I’ve seen a few of them driving around where I live. I’m always in shock looking at the thing knowing what the crazy person paid lol

The G63 does not weigh 6000 lbs. It's a 5400 lbs car. It is roughly 2450 kg, not 3000 kg.
Re the sluggish transmission, at a guess it'll have the MB adaptive transmission, it will learn how you like to drive and change to suit once it's used for a while.

For 300K no shot in hell. I drove a 2 year older and they are badass. They are definitely fine. Like he said, touch screen would be a bit better. But these things were built for a little more than a Mercedes with the best tech.
